29yrswithaGApass
Fantasy Fling is still "in da house"!
JetsDevs4Lyf
Awesome pics with the park looking good. Can't wait to see how TDK comes together.
GAcoaster
It should come together very quickly. It looks like they have all the building supports on site and ready to go vertical (closest to the pad). All the track seems to be sitting near the Stunt Arena, and all the ride supports are stacked near the BTR entrance. The building should only take a few days to assemble (they are designed for quick assembly), and then the ride itself is also designed for quick assembly (their portable rides). Adding the outer skin to the building and the effects and theme elements will take longer than anything else.
JetsDevs4Lyf
Yeah I notice the Fantasy Fling as well which is nice to see.
redsoxfan0810
I wonder why the remnance of Chiller is as intact as it is. It still has it's queue theming, A/C units on the roof and even the queue entrance sign that says Chiller!
29yrswithaGApass
I would think "This area is being enhanced for your future enjoyment!".
JetsDevs4Lyf
There were rumors about the observatory and queue area/building would be incorporated into the Dark Knight Coaster's experience. If there is in fact some sort of pre-ride storytelling piece to the ride perhaps they will be using these areas for that purpose during our wait. Would be an interesting concept but there must be some reason for the buildings still standing, especially considering how much room would have been opened up if they were demolished. Great Adventurer
I love those buildings, the observatory is just plain awesome and that building looks so sweet... I never got to ride Chiller, so when I go on TDK I'll be stomping around in there quite a bit. Also, I like what I'm seeing; the mesh exit path is still there. redsoxfan0810
What perplexes me is why the sign remains. It says "The Chiller" and has robin on it and everything. If they were taking it down it would have been the first thing to go really, so I wonder what they're doing with it. Maybe just leaving it as a memory, like they left the Freefall plaque in the ground?
JetsDevs4Lyf
It is possible. I suppose at the same time if they are going to be retheming the exteriors in any way or if they do plan to use the building they may simply be waiting until TDK is built and then worrying about all of those items. Who knows at this point I guess.
29yrswithaGApass
...... there must be some reason for the buildings still standing, especially considering how much room would have been opened up if they were demolished. Two words....... Dark Ride (as in shooting gallery style). I am purely speculating.
JetsDevs4Lyf
That would be nice. The old loading station and building are huge so they would definately be of some use to the park somewhere down the line. A dark shooting gallery or anything else would be nice. Maybe a quasi water ride with the shooting gallery essence to it would be nice. Either way can't wait to see what it turns into eventually. The Master
A dark ride would be grat inside of Chiller's old station.
redsoxfan0810
It would work well, It's already set up with a queue, exit and unless they gutted it it has some pre-existing internal features. (The tunnel to get to the Batman side, trenches where the tracks were) They could incorporate these into a dark ride somehow.
JetsDevs4Lyf
Absolutely it would seem foolish to waste such a good space especially because they would eliminate some of the cost that would come with having to put up a brand new building from scratch.
