  1. He was planning on purchasing one for Great Adventure History, I'm not sure if he did or not. I'd guess he did since he was planning it when they went on sale.
  2. I wonder if those are the actual uniforms are were they just for the media event?
  3. I know they SHOULD have more trains running on the coasters, but unless they purchase additional trains for some of them, there will have to be single train operations at some points with such a short off-season. They used to have 5 months of downtime, but since they started Holiday in the Park and chose to open earlier in the year than they used to, there just isn't enough downtime for the rebuilds/preventative maintenance. They SHOULD purchase additional trains for Superman and Batman so they each have two in operation with a third getting maintenance at all times (SFFT did this with their dive coaster), but not all parks have the budget for that, especially with Kingda Ka and El Toro eating up so much of the maintenance budget each year. We could have better operations (like Dorney) but have a season that runs May to October instead of March to January...
  4. I saw someone said they placed the last track piece yesterday. This will be fairly quick to get up and running.
  5. They seem to be one of the few things S&S makes that people (parks and guests) like.
  6. I just saw that the new restaurant being added with Iron Menace is going to have fried Butterscotch Krimpets-- the most Pennsylvania thing ever...
  7. While I am hopeful that Great Adventure's current park president is a good fit and lasts, I always hope that Jeff Seibert can make his way to Great Adventure as GM one day. He does so much great stuff with that park.
  8. It was kind of disappointing here in Orlando-- we had ~70% coverage and it really wasn't much to see.
  9. Yes, they'll still be holding media days, and the site should still receive invitations to them. I'm 1000 miles away so I may not be able to attend, but I'm hoping I can send someone to cover them for the website if I can't be there.
  10. Apparently it happened as the park opened and they held guests at the Fountain. They quickly went over the rides to assure there was no damage and opened them as they completed inspections.
  11. Thank you for posting, great to be able to see it all. It looks like many positive changes happening around the park-- progress, even if it's slow is still progress.
  12. Very happy to learn the Roaring Rapids name is back this year and there is a suggestion that it may have received some needed TLC as well...
  13. Very happy to see the Skyride was spared, at least for anther year. There were rumors it was being removed, but it is still listed on the 2024 maps that were just released.
  14. Everything that exists here SHOULD be archived soon.
  15. Really hoping Cedar Fair takes the lead on all parks after the merger. Rides should be ready at the start of the season, not mid-summer. I like that their parks have been embracing their uniqueness and moving away from cookie cutter additions, and I hope as combined company this continues.
  16. Wow-- I never heard of it before. There were so many little parks like this that were a "big deal" then just faded away between the depression and the ride of bigger, regional parks.
  17. It was so loud, and part of that was that it was right on the walkway! There was no avoiding it.
  18. After looking at many options, I have decided that the best path forward for our Forums is to partner with ParkFans.net. They already have an active forum which primarily focuses on Busch Gardens Williamsburg and Kings Dominion, but covers parks around the country and around the world as well. They have always had active discussions of Great Adventure, and welcomed our members to become part of their forums. https://parkfans.net/threads/welcome-greatadventurehistory-com-forum-members.7998/ I hope everyone will join me there!
  19. I am finalizing the plans for the future of our Forums, and should be ready to announce it soon.
  20. They announced the "new" Tiana's Bayou Adventure will open this summer at WDW and showed of the really impressive animatronic:
  21. This seems to be a contractor building and running it, so the risk for the park is minimal.
  22. Good to see work finally started: The pricing I saw on FB for the Safari Camp is insane though...
  23. Never thought I'd see the day the park bills itself as a "resort" The pricing I've been seeing on the "glamping" is just INSANE if true, but we'll see what happens...
  24. And apparently it will live on in a new home!
