  1. I found this photo on Flyin' Phil's website and I think it illustrates how much space there will be with the Aqua Stadium and the Great Lake Bandstand removed. While an S&S Free-Spin Coaster might fit the space of the Grandstand well, it seems to me to be too small fill any portion of the Aquastadium's footprint at all. I'd hope that whatever 2016 does bring it makes great use of a significant portion of one of the most pristine perimeters of our park.
  2. ^ Ka and Toro were built at a different time with a completely different management philosophy running the park. That strategy is not continued today (which could be interpreted as good and bad). I'm on the side that believes that quality attractions and experiences keep people coming back to the park. People won't come back to the park again to ride El Diablo, but they will absolutely come again to ride El Toro if you catch my drift.
  3. Maybe it's just me but i'm not so enthusiastic about an S&S Free-Spin coaster. We haven't received a new coaster in 5 years, and our last extremely exciting addition was nearly ten years ago. Being one of the larger parks in the chain, Great Adventure should have coasters that can handle our parks capacity, and even a 10 Inversion model gives me doubts. I'm hoping for a larger, more thrilling addition in 2016, not something that feels like a "discount" attraction.
  4. I kept thinking about this before I went to bed, and I realized that it can't be done. I was not really thinking abou the footer, or the cables, but I was thinking of the tower itself. Remember the European (austrian?) Star Flyer that is 384 feet tall? Well, the center column is wider because of the height. As the tower got taller, funtime knew that a different structure must be constructed so that they could eliminate some of the variables of having a "weaker" tower at 384 ft. in the air. i.e. European Star Flyer: Our Sky Screamer: Notice the differences in the lattice?
  5. I have to say, That is a great idea! Between Auction Hunters and Storage Wars, they are both of my favorite shows.
  6. Have you seen the foundation? I don't think Sky Screamer is going anywhere..
  7. Can you get up there? Is there a set of stairs or is it just a decoration?
  8. The Sign leading into the area does not say Frontier Adventures.
  9. Your Idea is pretty good, But as I keep saying, Movie town will work so much better as Gotham City. Bizarro, Can be themed to a wild west wagon ride, for it really is an eye sore with it being Blue and Purple in a red, brown and orange area. I would rename Bizarro the Wild West's Stage Coach Express and make the supports this Color while the track is this Color. I am aware that there is a ride called the stage Coach express, but if Knott's Berry Farm did not trademark the name, it can be re-named the pony express. The end of the Boardwalk can be re-themed to DC Comic Universe by something like this. First off, I would rip up a large part of the cement, write DC Comic Universe in the cement and have comic strips going from where the blue cement starts. Then, I would rename Twister, The Metropolis Crime Wave, with a re-paint, new sign and a little bit of TLC. Then, I would remove the simulator building to make way for a new Water ride similar to Splash water falls. It would be called Aqua Man and have comic strips in the queue. I would rename Slingshot to Catwoman's whip, and repaint it black and navy blue. Also, I would rename the parachutes The Justice League Watch Tower and have some Signs of the Justice league on the base of the ride. On the Superman/Season Pass Bubble, I would paint Comics On it Or Signs That Say "BAM" or "WHAPOW" or "BANG." Now here is where the setting starts to take place. There is a fence that says JET FUEL (place other word here) NO ADMITTANCE. I would remove that fence entirely, and add faux building facades all around similar to how they look at Magic Mountain. To add to it, there would be a new added side walk with newspaper stands and telephone booths. Also, the ground would be repainted to look like a road. I like Warner Leroy's idea, but I would leave Old Country alone, not demolish the Chiller station and add a LSM Launch like Maverick occupying it's current station, call it The Riddler's Revenge, and rename Movie Town Gotham City. Plus, the Justice League gift shop would be called Gotham Retail and a new Intamin Gyro Drop in Free Fall's pad called Lex Luthor's Levitower, Or Lex Luthor's Drop of Doom ( I don't really Like Lex Luthor: Drop of Doom.) Just my 2 cents :] ( I also understand that this plan would have to take place after Six Flags gains financial strength from the reckless Kieran Burke era)
  10. We'd probably be getting the WIngrider if they got Chang..
  11. That's a bit disappointing. Everyone thought our StarFlyer was going to be 300+ feet tall. It's disappointing, for frankly, we got half.
  12. I doubt Ka will come down in a few years... It is too much of a draw to a park... Ka will be nothing if something that is way out of this world comes like a Coaster that is 500 ft. High and with 15 loops. But seriously, When do you think that is going to happen, No time soon. There is a very few amount of coasters that are breaking the 300 foot mark... The park will be willing to keep Ka until something happens to it where it is un-fixable... or when something larger comes out and the maintenance costs are greater than the ride is worth. On the other hand, Chiller DID have problems, It DID have design flaws, It DID cost a lot of money to maintain and It DID have one of the most downtimes any roller coaster in our park had. (Including Ka and Viper) That is why the park removed it. The General Public might have loved it, but the Park hated it, and that is why it had to go.

I'm getting a new Camera for a Graduation present. That's my sister's camera and I'll make sure to tell her (again) that the date stamp is from 2007.

Alright, this was my Sixth time visting the park this year and it was amazing!I came today with four of my friends and despite the weather, it was probably one of my most memorable Six Flags Trips. We got to the park today around 10:20 a.m. It was a pretty crappy day (weather wise) with moderate crowds. The parking lot looked pretty full but a lot of people were not on the roller coasters. We got to the front gate and used coupons from my season pass booklet to get two of my friends in. The Gate had no wait to get tickets and the Security lines were very short. Resized to 92% (was 640 x 480) - Click image to enlarge Upon entering the park, we immediately decided to go to Green Lantern because we knew that the lines were going to be Crazy later. Also, Some of the cast of the Biggest Loser were speaking at the Park today. Resized to 92% (was 640 x 480) - Click image to enlarge While Walking through the queue for Green Lantern, The sprinklers that water the gravel were off, but a TON of weeds have popped up all over the ride's footprint. Resized to 92% (was 640 x 480) - Click image to enlarge They had a different Crew on Green Lantern today and it was Stacking like Crazy! I liked the Crew they had on 7/17/11. Resized to 92% (was 640 x 480) - Click image to enlarge So one of the people I went with Today were scared of roller coasters, but we dragged her on Green Lantern. She said Green Lantern was a "Piece of Cake." But, she still had her fear after going on. Anyways, After Going on Green Lantern, we headed over to Superman: Ultimate flight. It had about a 10 minute wait, so what the heck, Let's do it. Resized to 92% (was 640 x 480) - Click image to enlarge The ride was running very Smooth, The line was moving fast and the ride crew did an awesome job! On our way out from Superman, the 10 minute Line we waited in increased to over an hour! Resized to 92% (was 640 x 480) - Click image to enlarge After Superman, we headed Towards Kingda Ka, But on the way, I noticed that The Parachutes had 6 Chutes running today! Resized to 92% (was 640 x 480) - Click image to enlarge Also, I saw the Slingshot close up for the first time with the Fence down. It looked awesome and there were a few people in line for it! Resized to 92% (was 640 x 480) - Click image to enlarge It looked really nice, but I didn't want to spend my money until the price was lowered because $25 is pretty expensive from the $5 for eRUPTion. Resized to 92% (was 640 x 480) - Click image to enlarge So after I fell a little behind by taking these pictures, I caught up with the group for Kingda Ka. We forced my Scaredy Kat friend on the ride, and she had to wait with us in the 30 minute queue. Resized to 92% (was 640 x 480) - Click image to enlarge Our friend seemed pretty calm for someone who has a roller coaster anxiety, but it really got to her as we got closer to the station. Resized to 92% (was 640 x 480) - Click image to enlarge She was start to freak out even more as she saw this sign (I think more people need to read this instead of them freaking out when Kingda Ka Rolls-back. Resized to 92% (was 640 x 480) - Click image to enlarge We got on Kingda Ka in the Second row, which is my favorite row on the train, and the ride was really good. It was very smooth and It felt pretty different from the 27 other times i've been on the ride. But After the ride, my friend did this and said that it was no big deal. But, she still was not convinced that roller Coasters weren;t scary. Resized to 92% (was 640 x 480) - Click image to enlarge Anyways, After Kingda ka, we headed towards El Toro. Resized to 92% (was 640 x 480) - Click image to enlarge El Toro had about a 1/2 hour wait. Resized to 92% (was 640 x 480) - Click image to enlarge The line moved very quickly and they were running both trains. Resized to 92% (was 640 x 480) - Click image to enlarge As usually, when we moved up towards the station, the back was completely empty so we scurried our way back there. On our way I noticed there was a lot of trash Underneath Rolling Thunder. I guess it's rolling Dumpster to the park too? Resized to 92% (was 640 x 480) - Click image to enlarge We rode in the brown train, and it was running very smooth and is still my favorite roller coaster in the park. We decided to make a Pitstop for lunch. Everyone agreed on La Cocina, for we were all craving some Nachos. Resized to 92% (was 640 x 480) - Click image to enlarge The food was really good (As usual, since I always eat here when I come to the park.) At this point in the trip, I put away my camera because it stared to Downpour and I was using my Sister's camera so I put it away. After our quick Lunch we headed over to Rolling Thunder/Dumpster (Whichever you prefer.) We waited in the station for about 5 minutes and boarded the Red Train on the Right Side. After being locked and checked, the power wen't out, so we decided to just get up and go since it wasn't in my group's immediate to-do list. But, of course, right as we get out of station and off of the exit stairs, the lights turned back on and we feel cheated.Oh well, life goes on. So we headed over to Bizarro, which had absolutely no wait. I hoped on the back row, which was pretty good considering I was pelted with rain in my face. It was really smooth (as usual) but we were on a train without Audio (Typical.) After Bizarro, we wen't on the Runaway Mine Train. I haven't been on it in at Least 4 years so I had completely forgotten the experience. I didn't realize how rough its gotten. I felt really beat up after this. Anyways, we made our way over to Nitro, Batman: The Ride and The Dark Knight. The rain lightened up a little bit so I took the a picture of Evolution and It's Queue. Sadly, the picture Of Evolution's spot was really blurry so I decided not to upload it. But, I did get a good picture of the now overgrown Queue, which will hopefully be expanded and restored to it's original glory if a Starflyer is put in Evolution's former footprint. Resized to 92% (was 640 x 480) - Click image to enlarge So after this quick walk by picture, we headed over to Nitro and put all of our things in a Locker (Including the Camera because it started to pour again.) So we waited in Nitro's queue until it stopped pouring. As we walked through the queue it stopped raining so we were very Lucky! We Dragged our Scaredy Kat friend on Nitro, and we were all very surprised. We had a break through! My friend now loves roller coasters and can't believe that she has been scared about them for 14 years. Well better late then never, and we were all very happy because we now have another member to our Six Flags Group. After our friend's sudden revelation, she immediately said "LET'S GO ON BATMAN!" So, we made our way over there and waited about 20 minuted to get on including some unexpected technical difficulties. Afterward, we made our way to Dark Knight which had a 30 minute wait due to the rain. Lucky for us, the ride experienced some technical difficulties due to the weather. So, why is it Lucky for us? Well, when we found out the ride was closed, The queue emptied faster than the rain was coming down. So we waited at the entrance for literally 2 minutes and the got on the ride! I consider our little group very lucky! The Dark Knight was good! we waited for about 10 minutes total to ride including the pre-show! After being disappointed with Rolling Thunder, we headed over there again to find the ride operational, both sides racing but with only one train on each track. Yet again, we went to the right side and were lucky to find an empty station. We boarded the ride immediately and were more than happy when the ride ended. I realized that I liked the left side much more. Anyways, we decided to end our day there, and head to the parking lot for an hour car ride home. I hope you enjoyed my PTR! -
  15. Just me suorounded by 28 guests at 8:00 A.M.

  16. 1. Sarajevo Bobsleds? 2. Congo Rapids? 3. Pendulum?
  17. 1. GASM 2. Jumpin' Jack Flash 3. Shockwave
  18. It'd be a waist to re-theme it now, Even in the off-season. Just leave in until it becomes not popular anymore and then re-theme it like Bizarro. I'd rather they spend 5 million on a 500 ft Star Flyer then a 5 million dollar re-theme of a roller coaster that is brand new... (and yes, a StarFlyer is 1 million dollars for every 100 feet)
  19. does anyone know what the current Status of the 2012 additions are?
  20. it's an awful eyesore and a Blockade to try and lure people into the boardwalk. Tisk.
