  1. Very weird to see people in the switchbacks for ED and TDK! What are the people in the sand waiting for in the picture above?
  2. True! I forget the exact name, but it was themed to a studio backlot tour. In around 2003, maybe?
  3. It's too bad they haven't invested in a more robust system like Cedar Fair. They scan your pass for everything, and could easily add something a haunted house pass that way.
  4. Lol, yeah. I remember going on a Fright Fest Saturday that year and this was the only remotely "scary" attraction I could get near without waiting hours!
  5. Apparently you can give feedback in the "settings" section -- that would be a good piece to ask for in the next update. I'd also like if the items were arranged by category (as on the actual menu) as opposed to the current alphabetical order.
  6. Yeah, the app is where I saw it as well. Still shows as through 11/13 there.
  7. So cool to see! Can't wait for more. Especially love the frozen Looney Tunes fountain.
  8. ^Will early November then be the same limited-ops situation as last year? Or closed until HITP? EDIT: The website says FF goes through November 13. Classic SF....
  9. Nice report. Interesting take on the flyer rankings. I tend to prefer Vekomas over B&Ms, but what about the Cedar Fair ones makes them so bad in your eyes? And what about the SFoG S:UF makes it so good? And you might want to crack open that Physics 101 textbook for a quick review...

Nice report, sounds like you got lucky with a lot of lines. On another note, what's good at Macho Nacho?
  11. Lol. Sounds worse than anything I've seen at the park lately, but I get the sentiment. Anywhere in particular you saw that deserves special attention?
  12. Lol @ the poor quality of the graphics in the preview video. I hope they are better in person....
  13. ^They may reserve a few hours for normal ops, as at SFNE, but I predict that when the VR is running it will be operated with the same apathy and ineptitude that we've seen at all of the chain's other parks.
  14. ^That's classy but frankly silly. If the system is open for the day, they shouldn't turn down business from people -- even if they're stupid or uninformed enough to want to buy it on an empty day.
  15. Bizarro makes so much sense, since it will increase popularity on a ride that doesn't usually have a line now. Would be foolish to apply a capacity killer to a ride like Nitro (or even SM) that's constantly working through big numbers of Guests.
  16. ^ What do you estimate the current guests per hour figure to be? I wonder how much this really ends up saving on energy and water. Can it be that much, considering most of the water is recycled anyway?
  17. Visited for the first time in a while on Sunday and had quite a nice time for a few reasons. One of the nice unexpected ones was how much is now available on the dining plan -- it used to be restricted to a couple items on a menu, with a couple more available for an upcharge, and now it's almost all items on menus, with no upcharges for anything. I'm not sure what prompted the change (perhaps the better availability is better "advertising" to those who don't yet have the plan) but it was a very pleasant surprise.
  18. ^For food places? That would be nice. I've always thought it should also have a "drop a pin where you've parked" feature, since that's an easy and helpful addition for theme park apps.
  19. Yesterday, it had Toro at 25 min. We walked over and it was 5 min (single switchback filled). Then, by the time we were on the platform, it was already back up to ~25 (first set of switchbacks filled). Yes it's imperfect, but sometimes it's unavoidable). EDIT: Also, I see this as a flaw in the design but you do need to remember to manually refresh. Looking at wait times leftover from the last time I opened the app has messed me up in the past.
  20. I actually find it quite useful. No, it's not accurate to the minute, but it is generally accurate for getting an idea of what a wait is -- small, medium, or large. Agreed on the mystery of it not always working, though.
  21. I actually think it has less to do with pricing and more to do with CapEx. If you consistently add attractions like tiger exhibits or JL rides, you'll get families. If you add thrill rides like The Joker, you'll get teens and younger, single people who are more likely to be rowdy. After tipping heavily towards the former during the Red Zone era, the park has a nice balance between the two now but I worry it's steadily moving towards the latter and the place will become trashier and less safe over the next few years.
  22. Don't worry, I'm sure they'd figure out a way to mess that process up, too.
