  1. ^Nobody said it's their fault. Just that they could be prepared for something that's easily to foresee. Though that's obviously not a Six Flags specialty.
  2. ^ I like the ride a lot, but at this point it would make sense. Could draw a lot more elsewhere than it does here.
  3. I hope we see a DC universe overhaul like the SFMM section, which is the rare nicely themed SF addition. Retheming Nitro would be an easy overlay, and perhaps they'd throw in a giant frisbee themed to Wonder Woman or someone else. Also, Zash, agree wholeheartedly. I love GAdv because I love pretty much any theme park, and because I grew up on it, but it's hard to deny that these days Hershey and Dorney beat SF on safety, cleanliness, efficiency, and just about every other area other than ride infrastructure (and even that's debatable depending on your preferences). I recognize that not everyone is in a position to think this way, but I'd personally absolutely prefer to pay more for the better product.
  4. Same! Such a good starter ride. I'll also never forget the time my brand new Hersheypark baseball cap flew off mid-loop . . . and fell right into the lap of my grandpa, who was waiting on the midway.
  5. I wonder why. I'd love to see attendants stationed at station entrances (as at Cedar Point) to control flow of people and fix the chronic issue of overcrowded stations at our park. I hope they don't start assigning rows, though.
  6. True. Classic SF corner-cutting on the much-touted lighting "upgrade" it got just a few years back.
  7. . . . engineers from ProSlide scouting out the HH-mirror image site, representatives from Dippin' Dots corporate . . .
  8. What work? Is there really any chance of them getting denied?
  9. I will say, the HOJ facade would have really looked nice in the simulator building spot on the Boardwalk. I'll take a revitalization of Old Country over that (assuming that's what they're doing), but I'm not sure there's anything they could put in the Boardwalk now that would liven up the area as much.
  10. Agreed entirely. I'd love to know the thinking behind that change a few years back. Right now, it feels like "Including HH will make more people buy passes, and make us more money, Guest experience be damned."
  11. ^ Yeah, and lines will really thin out later. Also, you may know that platinum passholders and onsite hotel guests get early entry. Well, at the front gate, there's a section for this group where you need to show your credentials. But if you head to one of the three smaller gates, they often don't check, so you can get in early. Then again, I love theme parks but 15 hours straight may be enough without an extra 16th.
  12. Hmm, I haven't heard anything from my family nearby who also visit often, but it's too bad if it's the case. That said, even if their emphasis on training and thorough staffing have started to wane a bit, I'm sure operations are still notably better than at GAdv across the board -- rides, admissions, food, etc.
  13. I've visited CP at least once every year of my life; I know what I'm talking about here. No, every ride isn't 70% more efficient than the GAdv equivalent, but overall their lines move immensely faster and their rides are a lot more reliable, so your odds of having a great day without a Flash Pass are a lot higher.
  14. ^That aligns with what I'm saying -- a 3-5% increase each year is essentially maintaining the status quo; it just keeps up with inflation and scrapes a bit more profit each year. They want the parks to be packed with passholders.
  15. CP is tremendously efficient, so it's feasible (if not guaranteed) that you could get everything in. A line that would take 90 minutes at GAdv can easily take 30 or less there. That said, you'll guarantee a pretty amazing experience with Fast Lane, so it may make sense depending on budget. Also, don't miss MaxAir and the fresh-cut fries!
  16. Dining plan or not, it's the best restaurant in the park!
  17. ^ Agreed deeply, but it's not in the cards any time soon. The business model is clearly designed to pack the parks as full as possible, and make all of the profit off of In-Park Services. Red Zone tried to change this a bit, but obviously they're long gone. The current administration may turn over, but it won't likely happen for a decade at least.
  18. Anything that makes it easier to marathon Houdini!
  19. I'm not sure that's entirely fair. I think it's probably more along the lines of "What a dump that I just paid $27 to park in...." :-P
  20. Later in the season it can be. But for the first few weeks you have a solid 45-60 mins before the light is gone.
  21. Agreed that they would probably see a bit more games revenue in 2017 if they placed this attraction on the Boardwalk. But, like anything, there's an opportunity cost -- as soon as they put JL there, they can't put another attraction there. Who's to say that they won't use the same space for an attraction in 2018 or 2019 that will draw even more people to the area? Also, just curious, what are these emails you're sending? And to whom?
  22. Another good tip if you're not sure about scare threshold is to start on the outdoor trails as soon as they open. There's usually enough time to complete 1-2 before the light completely runs out, and they're considerably less scary that way.
  23. All good points that I hadn't really considered, though I think there is more potential for a new coaster than you set up. To name a few: - Boardwalk if they remove go karts and slingshot - Movietown if they remove stunt arena - Old Country where Pendulum/Autobahn used to be - Lakefront where Grandstand used to be Plus JL is a "major" attraction with enduring appeal, even though it may not have the capacity of a big coaster. On another note, the SFSL building looks even nicer than the SFGAm one, with a little park where the exterior queue lives rather than plain bars. I'm guessing ours will likely resemble SFSL's more, with the old Chiller queue serving as the "park" before a smaller, indoor portion.
