Why do they still use hand stamp for re-entry into the park? With the history of fraud..it seems this would have been a major reason for utilizing the biometric readers.

Probably because they didn't want to risk the integrity of El Toro when removing Rolling Thunder. The part is a little close for comfort and can easily be made into another smoking area if needed.

Vapur Element Bottle + Water Fountain + MIO and you are set for the day at any park. Water bottles are so thin these days they can also be made really compact to fit in that zipper pocket.

I figured that was the case. Since it was mentioned how big the drop carriers were at ground level I thought there "might" be some photos. You will never see them on the ground ever again. Just curious.

At the top of the trip report it mentions "Zumanjaro photos coming soon." It would be interested to see what they were up to during your visit. Unless there are reasons you can't share them.

Boulder Dash and the Sky Ride alone are defintely worth a trip to Lake Compounce. You can easily add on the Wooden Warrior (Don't let its size fool you) and a possible venture to SFNE.

The Haunt attractions are what you make of them. If you don't like being in the dark with strangers Total Darkness wouldn't be a bore. The group you get placed with in a haunt can make all the difference... Get someone who doesn't like chainsaws and the Asylum will be a completely different experience. The park is trying to give you new experiences but at $8 a trail it is getting a little ridiculous.

Sea Lions have not been in the Golden Kingdom this year. Asian Otters with a very short show...and who knows where either will be next year :-(

The show was exclusively Mannheim Steamroller tracks.

Sorry no video of the "Mannheim Steamroller" fireworks, but it was very cool. Light rain started at about 9:55PM, and it turned out to be no such a bad thing. Lasers + rain makes a very unique visual experience. Adding the lasers was a very smart idea, it gave an often needed break between the firework sets for smoke to clear. Pyrotecnico put on a great show even with limited shells, they sure know how to do a grand finale! The park was taping the show so you might want to check with them, the crowd for the show was not big at all.

Gerstlauer made the trains for the New Texas Giant. Expect seat-belts to be added soon?

You might consider they are throwing in the old 3-park (the now 2 park pass) for free this year. Last year that cost extra.... I wonder if a Gold pass will get you into Hurricane Harbor? Not that I wouldn't want free parking and every pass.

If it does come back (fingers crossed) the park should have a set of defined/posted rules as to when the show will be canceled and how it will be rescheduled. It was often a mystery this year unless you were following the Great Adventure facebook page. I know they want to keep people in the park but not for a disappointment.
