  1. Harry, try cleaning g the playback heads with alchol and a Q-Tip. Iirc there are some real to real units that did offer noise reduction. Even some, I believe, that had Dolby Noise Reduction.
  2. My guess is these were taken elsewhere. Toms river used to and still does I believe, have a huge Halloween parade. Altbough I only attended it once I swam to recall a float from GA. Maybe this was taken there. Not the white line on the shoulder of the road.
  3. One of these style tram cars can be found still today at a local you pick blue berry farm in Manchester, NJ. The name and street address escapes me right now, but the next time I drive by I will make a note of it. I don't know for sure if it is one from Great Adventure, but I would imagine it would have to be. Most of the time it just sits out front of the farm and they still use it to transport people out to the. Blue berries on their busiest days during picking season.
  4. I almost missed the key phrase here "hundreds of vintage great adventure video tapes," witch sounds pretty good to me. "Be kind, what cha find?"
  5. Hmm. I am heading there too. Plan on arriving there on Sunday late afternoon. Rv camping overnight and spending a day or two at six flags depending on how my 10 yo twins like it. Then we are headed to great escape later in the week. Although we have never been to either, it looks like both parks offer enough to make the trip worth while.

  7. Boy I hope not. That would be one big black eye for the park. And a built but never operated section here on GAH.
  8. My ten yo twins and I were lucky enough to be at the park last night when Harry and the crew from GA were setting up. Even though they were still working hard to get it ready, they still invited us in for a look. Harry thank you and all that have helped make this possible. My son and daughter could not stop talking about the museum and meeting you. My son hopes to get you autograph on his copy of the book. Happy 40th to all of us here at Great Adventure History!
  9. Ok. Harry you know I am always feeling historic about my favorite theme park. And I know your not gonna let the cat out of the bag, but are we going to have to wait till the 1st or the forth to fond out what you got up your sleeve ?
  10. Moon. How do you know that it did? Harry states in the spotlight that it has never been confirmed. But if that's is true it makes me even more angry that it and the rest of old county sits decaying.....
  11. Just looked at the parks scheduled hours for this Friday, May 2nd, their web site shows a 6pm close. Doesn't make sense to me. Does anyone know of there is a special event scheduled for Friday night ?
  12. Hey he is only 13. at least he is being creative enough to put thought into what he would do. He is not my son, but if he was I would try to help him with ideas and expand his creativity. Also with his sentence structure and writing skills. Most kids his age are playing video games and on social media all day...
  13. I am now going to have to go on a mission through my father slide collection. He carried that pentex camera everywhere we went maybe he has a shot of it somewhere.
  14. Harry, I bow to your and tom's expertise on the subject. But I know that Kodak also sponsored the log flume too at some point. Is it possible that they switched off sometime? I have such vivid memories of being very young riding the moon flume with my mother and seeing that sign exactly where it is in the first picture you posted from 1978. I mean its driving me nuts.lol feel like calling mom right now. Lol
  15. No.... That's lighting loops in the back ground. Unless I am losing my mind I know nestea sponsored the moon flume sometime in the early to mid eighties. I grew up I. Jackson and spent day after day in GA during say 81 to 87.
  16. o come on.... am I the only one here who remembers this sign? It was my favorite part of the ride. I honestly can't rember the exact wording but is was something to the effect of "Get Ready to take the Nestea Plung" or "Are you ready to take the Nestea Plung"
  17. Wow fantastic job! Nice work. Thanks for posting it. Rolling thunder forever!
  18. Wow Harry, that is cool. where did you dig that up from?
  19. I am going to post this here out of respect for Harry's request. But make no mistake... many of us are not past the removal of Rolling Thunder.... my ten year old twins were crying about it as a matter of fact. never returning to the park has been discussed at my house.
  20. Ooooooooooo nnnnnnñoooooooo!!!!!!!! I just noticed on Six flags web site Rolling Thunder is listed as 'temporarily closed' and someone commented that they went on Saturday 9/7 and Rt was closed. does this mean that it broke ll not be open today either? Did anyone go to the park last night that can confirm this? I was planning on going today with the family but if RT is closed for good I am gonna pass.
  21. I was on it yesterday. Only left side is running and the ride attendant stated the right side would never run again. Yes back when Thunder was in the limelight at GA the left side was run backward for a few years. I
  22. Nope sorry not a season pass holder day. Its Great Muslim Adventure Day.
