  1. Went to the park this afternoon. Road Thunder with my 9 year old twins. We waited in line for 45min or so. only left side running. while in line I was reminiscing on all the times I had waited in that line que. I won't bore you all with those memories but when rt opened I was nine years old and now on the year it is closing my twins are nine too. once we made it on the red train I asked if the right side would be open before the end on Sunday. the attendant told us quietly that sorry no but the right side would never again run...
  2. Signed... I hope it at least it makes some one in six flags stop and think.
  3. Six Flags continues to rip The Great out of Great Adventure. RIP Rolling Thunder.
  4. Fireworks were amazing. They did a great job. Lasers, pyrotec and music all correograpthed together.
  5. Just received my weekly email from GA. There is mention of WATERFALLS as part of Congo Rapids. Can't wait see if they are back...
  6. OMG People really do suck.... Feeding batteries to animals...Really! Where are we going and why are we in this hand basket.....
  7. Oh man this would be bad.... But ya know soo many people don't follow the rules. They feed the animals, block traffic, endanger the animals... A few times a years we always drive the Safari before the park opens. Its the wife's favorite thing at GA....
  8. And with no canopy over the passengers....Stuff used to fly everywhere.
  9. My 8 year old son and I visited the park today. We rode Deja Vu for the first time today and while on line we noticed its "scrambler" name plate. Upon closer inspection we notice it was built on 5/19/69 - today 43 years ago. It should also be noted that there was no music. Although they had a pair of JBL out door speakers set up. I asked the ride attendant and she said they were not finished with the music system and it was still scheduled to be music based. Does anyone have any history on this particular Ride's history? IS it by any chance our own original scrambler? it appear to be the same model by the same manufacturer.
  10. So is the Musik Express still in the park? Standing or otherwise? I was so hoping it would return for the 2012 season. When i heard rumor of a music based scrambler I just assumed it would return.....
  11. Well I searched and found nothing. So in typical newbie fashion I'll ask here. Does anyone have any information on the Music based scrambler? Is there any chance its the old muisik Express? God I hope so........
  12. Just wanted to drop in and give a BIG THANK YOU! to all involved here. I have been a lurker for a few years now. Growing up in Jackson in the 70-80's I spent more time at GA then at home sometimes. Although I never worked there (mostly cause I didn't want to have to call somewhere I liked to much work) I learned every nook of the park. I was a season pass holder from early 80's till 1991 or so. But Never returned to the park until 2008 as the father of twin 4 year olds. It was like returning home. It brought back soo many memories which lead me here to this fine site. Now my 8 year old son is obsessed with all things Great Adventure. I mean his art projects in school are GA based, the only book he wants to read is his GA book, He wants a vintage T shirt from the park. And probably spends more time here looking at GA history then watching TV or riding his go cart. So once again thanks for this great site!!!
