  1. None other than our own Medusa. I am a huge fan of the Schwartzkopf loopers though myself, particularly SooperDooperLooper, the loop on that ride feels different to me for some reason than any other loop. It is hands down my favorite single loop on a coaster, it has just the right amount of Gs and speed when it goes through it in my opinion.
  2. Last night was worse; Nitro was out of the switchbacks into the walkway at one point, and Toro was near overflowing as well. According to an employee friend, yesterday was the highest attendance day the park's seen all year!
  3. Even if just for a theme element, Super Tee Pee should have stayed. Many, MANY parks have large themeing elements that are there simply for themeing. I miss the Tee Pee more than the wagon. The Tee Pee literally would have cost them nothing to leave there simply as something to look at ; they probably spent more money removing it than it cost to fix it.
  4. Verbolten! just rode it two weeks ago, amazing.
  5. What should have happened though is the park should have kept the rides in better condition all along so the repair costs needed don't blow the budgets out of the water. What should have happened is Six Flags and management should have given the budgets more money all along to make those repairs possible. What should have happened is they should have always looked at the big picture and not the "in the moment" picture. Now, as a result solely of revenue focused management, we are losing a classic ride that should NOT have had to go. The whole "they had to make a decision" ordeal could have easily been avoided if they'd realize they are desperately not putting enough money into their maintenance budget that the rides need. Six Flags truly needs to learn the meaning of "You have to spend money to make money."
  6. They're just not having much luck over there recently it would seem
  7. I've never been there, nope.... a little harder...
  8. Not having children, I guess I never saw it that way. It is unfortunate it that case, but there still is Skull Mountain, mine train, and Blackbeard as far as coasters go... or is there not? I do not know the height requirements off the top of my head.
  9. I would love to see the planned but never built section have a lot more spotlights added. I'd suggest maybe adding the plans to have the one Lightin Loops in Ultra Twister's old spot too maybe?
  10. Anyone who works at the park / has info know if they've begun removing it?
  11. ^ I'm sure it's only a matter of time before one of them tries...
  12. I think the flats they added though in the previous few years was a great step forward. The addition of the Sky Screamer, Deja Vu, Royal Elephants, and bumper cars were a good move. Previous to this, the flat ride count was dangerously low with a lot of "holes" throughout the park. There's still a lot of areas to be filled in, but it was a great start. Let's hope these flats stick around and don't face a short lived life like so many others.
  13. I can't vote, I've never been on Voyage. Out of my many coaster friends who have though, they ALL declare Voyage is much better.
  14. I'd have to agree, he needs to get over it. I think this is all probably stemming from his insecurities about being "booed and cheered" off the ride. While that does suck to have everyone see you removed from the ride due to a disability he may have, he should have done his proper research prior to attempting to ride. If he fears public humiliation, perhaps he should have asked an employee or looked online about the policies before his attempts. He says he wants to "live a normal life" yet he is searching for special treatment because of his disability. Bringing on a lawsuit now is only gaining him more attention, and it will all probably be negative. People sue over anything these days and I'm sure he is simply looking for some easy money. It's a bit ridiculous. And Six Flags dude; most adults are just as immature as teens, it just comes out in different ways
  15. I'm guessing Wicked, at the Lagoon in Utah ?
  16. This is a fun game I've participated in on other coaster sites, I'd like to give it a try here. You know how it is....you've got some down time at work, the boss isn't looking... you need to pass the time but avoid work at all costs. This is the solution. Or maybe you're in 3rd period, supposed to be working, but no, that's not fun... so come and try to guess the coaster. Rules: Someone posts a picture of an anonymous coaster, anywhere around the world. And the other members must guess what it is. Whoever guesses correctly must then provide the next picture. Some general guidelines: NO wild mouse coasters, NO children's coasters, NO wooden coasters that are out of operation. Try to avoid coasters with a million clones (SLCs, Boomerangs, you get the idea) If no one guesses correctly in a week, it's free play; whoever posts the next picture takes control. Try to make these not impossible! It's more about having fun then stumping everyone. When posting pictures, make sure it's cached, or else people may be able to see the ride's name in the URL of the image. I'll start this out, relatively easy one...
  17. Hopefully the park will realize what an awful mistake this is before the crews come out and rip it down. While I think Zumanjaro is a good addition to the park, and will attract a fair crowd, I do not agree with the decision to remove Thunder. I would like to think of the tower and the rolling thunder removal separately; Tower= good, awesome ride that I'm looking forward to. Will attract guests. Removal of Rolling Thunder: Terrible. Obviously "making room for a path" is a bluff and there's a less pretty sounding reason behind it. The more I've read on over the past week, the more I see how messed up this move is. It shouldn't matter what issues it has; fix it, we all know its easily fixable. Any great park just simply shouldn't heartlessly remove their classic wooden coaster, it's an icon of any park.
  18. Still feeling a compact, possibly multi-launch coaster in Chiller's spot. Something like full throttle or Maverick, but maybe a little tighter. Just a personal hunch though, there's no factual evidence to back this up
  19. Much like the Chiller, I think it is a matter of it COULD be fixed and be safe, but that involves money to be spent... money that, in the park's eyes, could be better spent elsewhere. I would agree based on what I've heard that the right side at the moment is not safe; however, with the correct maintenance done, it certainly could be again. It's a real shame our park can't maintain even a dual tracked wooden coaster. "Getting parts" I feel shouldn't be an issue.... wood and simple metal for retracking is obviously not hard to require; and any company out there would be willing to fabricate new trains for the coaster. It's a miracle to me they keep Kingda Ka running so well because after the Chiller I never had faith they'd be able to maintain anything very complicated, or that requires a lot of attention. These fears are re-enforced by the state they've let RT deteriorate to.
  20. ^ It is most unfortunate to look at it that way. That's why I'm saying the biggest upset to me is this ride is irreplaceable- every park worth a mention has it's classic woodie that's been there for ages and ages; and now, we will be without ours. A very unique one at that.
  21. I was there yesterday at 1pm to ride Rolling Thunder. It was open and operating well for the limited time I was at the park (Just dipped in to catch one last ride!)
  22. Six Flags is the only chain I know of that would stoop to the point of wrapping their coaster trains in ads to create rolling advertisements. It certainly is probably the single most tackiest thing I can recall the park ever doing. I really hope the advertisers pay them a lot of money to do that.
