  1. HH observation: I know they just opened Carribean Cove. Which is rather unimpressive. The structure only hold a handful of kids...and the entire center is blocked off for the water slides. Anyway, when we were there 2 Fridays ago, there were a number of men in suits and hard hats out the in big field behind the parking lot with clipboards walking around. Any ideas as to what this could have been? They weren't in the drainage basin or the helipad, but rather the field next to it.
  2. Yep, it is a CG approved. It's the same the vest we've used the last 2 summers It was crazy.
  3. Anyone know when Hurricane Harbor stopped allowing you to bring in your own life vests for children? Unreal.
  4. We were at GA yesterday, and the entire time we were there Skull Mountain was closed. Any ideas?
  5. Well, as a mom with kids that range in age from nearly 4 to 11...I'd really love to see the JL ride added next (be it 2017 or 2018). I *know* GA is known for coasters. And we have a ton of really great ones. I love the coasters and would ride them all day if I could. But this park desperately needs a better kids area and more family rides. (by family rides I mean ones that little ones can ride with a parent) Hoping the JL ride would have the same restrictions that Toy Story Mania in DW does. We were able to take all 3 of our kids on and they loved it.
  6. I am a T1 diabetic. I need to carry my tester (meter) as well as extra pump supplies (infusion site, cartridge, insulin, syringes, battery, glucose tablets/candy). I usually go to the security area at the park exit-as you enter the security check point it would be to the right of the metal detectors. Tell them your issue, and they should issue a medical sticker to place on your bag. It will allow you to bring your bag with you in the ride queues and leave it next to the operator while on the ride. Be prepared though-the staff working the lines will tell you multiple times you have to leave your bag with nonrider or in a locker. I just keep showing the medical sticker and I've never had an issue.
  7. Love it when I open my Facebook page and see GA as a trending topic for The Joker :-) (and I checked with a friend who lives in Iowa-it's not just tailored to my preferences lol)

  9. My kids were angry yesterday that the new Harley sign isn't up yet lol In the words of my 10 year old: Why do they have the sign on the Joker when it isn't working yet, but not on Harley when we can ride it?
  10. Ah, I didn't realize they did have the DC characters at one point. I went a ton in early/mid 90's, then not again until 2 years ago. Still, it would be great to have them again.
  11. Oh I meant the people buying the photos! Not charging to have the picture taken or doing a character meet and greet-that would suck.
  12. I know there are a few characters that are still in the park-Bugs & Lola, Porky & Petunia, Tweety, Wily E. Coyote... (maybe more but they are the ones we've seen) I think this is something that the park could do well with expanding/changing. Sadly, I don't think most little kids know who the classic WB characters are. (Though since Animaniacs is on Netflix, I'd like to see them back!) The park is really into the DC heroes/villians. They have so many licensed items for sale and named rides. I wonder if it would be possible to start having the superheroes/villians instead of the WB characters? The kids know them, and I think parents would be more willing to stop and pay for photos with characters the kids know. Thoughts?
  13. So...I realize today is April Fool's Day...but on GA's Facebook page they posted they will be paving the lot in 2016. I'm sooo hoping this is true!
  14. When I got the survey for our first trip to HITP...when it asked about each ride...for Skull Mountain I wrote that they should have changed the themeing inside. The outside is gorgeous...the inside...not so much. I get it's a dark coaster so they wouldn't want to go overboard...but they could have taken down the glowly pumpkin thing and the skull and put something holiday related and a few lights here and there. And certainly change the music. And I said the exact same thing at the end when asked for any comments ;-)
  15. We are here now and the park looks great. So far, not busy and short waits. I'm just a bit disappointed that the inside of Skull Mountain wasn't decorated.
  16. Yeah, we won't have a 2016 dining pass (*only* the season pass membership) until we get our tax return in the spring. We have the 2015 dining plan.
  17. Yup, that leaves us out. I was really looking forward to going (as we have the membership Gold passes; but we purchase the dining passes with our tax return each year). Oh well.
  18. I didn't realize that the coaster would be extending over the water.
  19. According to our safari guide today, the safari will be getting two new groups of animals next year. I really wish they'd find a way to incorporate the baboons.
  20. I'd say 4-5. Depending on what is open to ride, plus of course the HITP stuff.
  21. After reading another post, it got me thinking. What is the average "life" of a coaster? I know different materials will be different, but now I'm curious.
