  1. People are so ignorant, I've noticed that a lot of these type of incidents happen to be with inverted coasters. People must assume that there is enough space between the on coming train and the ground when in reality it's the opposite. There is a very good reason why those areas are restricted and have no trespassing sign. If I ever lost something on a roller coaster by accident I would kindly ask an employee and find the right person who can access the area to retrieve the item, when it is at a safe and convenient time to the employee. However technically the park is not responsible or liable for any lost item's. Thank God the motor blew a fuse and the ride stopped or else that could have been a fatality.

  2. With Gale Force being announced in Ocean City, it really makes one wonder what Six Flags is going to use for "Gale Force 7". They also trademarked Titan and Total Mayhem. Now my question is would they trademark names for flat rides as well? (I apologize for going a little off topic) Total Mayhem could be for a Zamperla Air Race for all we know that wouldn't be coming to our park next year. Just speculating the possibilities. I would really like to know which park is getting Titan though, that sounds like its going to be a big ride.

If a S&S free spin is planned for our park, the plus side from the company's point of view is that it will attract the GP who are mid-level thrill seekers that enjoy SUF, El Diablo, Twister and Sky Screamer. Plus, it will generate internet buzz and media coverage on the internet like BTR at SFFT which benefits the marketing department. Now if we do get the free spin, I just hope that it is a much bigger, more intense and a longer ride.

As a thrill seeker and roller coaster enthusiast, I agree with everyone else that we are very much over due for a big new massive roller coaster and there is a little bit of faith in me that is hoping the park gives us a treat and surprises us with a Giga, 4D like X2, Premier launched coaster or hell even a Launched Wing rider next year. If not, there is always the future.

  3. With this new coaster, does anyone think that it will be a part of the lakefront, fantasy forest, or an entire new themed section? Since it has been mentioned that most likely there will be new buildings with food and retail coming with this addition. If this new ride is going to be a part of fantasy forest or lakefront I would like to see the area's freshened up but then again we saw how Adventure Alley turned out. (No offence toward the park intended.) I just really hope that they keep the wooded area behind Yum Yum Palace where the fence currently is.

  4. Now something like X2 would be amazing!!! That will definitely bring in revenue to the lakefront! I honestly don't mind a s&s free spin, they look fun and its something different in which we don't have.

Now this is a little off topic but remember a last season there were rumors of a RMC along the lake that supposedly was supposed to have a tunnel under the lake or something, i'm assuming that idea got scratched? Something like Goliath at Sfgam can fit there but I think that rmc confirmed that there only working on one coaster next season at six flags and that's most likely roar at sfdk.

  5. I'd love too see an Iron thunder or Thunders revenege where it it duels but has one station like Twisted Colloussus. El Diablo can be easily moved and Zumanjaro's queue can be relocated if they really wanted it to. Unfortunately I don't think that is something that will be happening anytime soon. But i would much rather see the park focus on movietown, old country and the seaport area for next few seasons.

  6. Couldn't agree more! 2005/2006 saw a major transformation which completely changed the atmosphere but unfortunately led them to bankruptcy. The current management is trying to watch their spending but they really need to find more room in their budget for upkeep and maintenance.

  7. Its so nice to see the park running Twister how it should be ran! I assume that they took the time and did a full 100% rehab on the ride to have it running it's full potential... which probably wasn't cheap. I remember in the mid 2000's untill recently the ride would barely flip or come even close so this is a VERY nice thing to see! Kudos Nice PTR thank you for sharing!

  8. I know this sounds random but if you pay close attention, when a train goes through the zero g element, the supports actually shake a little. I'm sure its perfectly safe and designed that way, but just a little observation I made when I was bored waiting in the queue lol. Also, with 6 blocks does that mean they could run 4 trains if they had an extra train? Just curious.

  9. You always have those people who can't keep a secret. I personally don't see the name "Hyperdrive" being used if they are getting a Free spin. The survey's are just to get peoples opinion and anything can change at the very last minute as well as the name and theme and most importantly the ride. Hyperdrive just doesn't fit for a coaster name, especially one that would be along the lake if that is the case for next season according to speculation and rumors. At the end of the day what ever the park decides to build, i hope that it turns out to be a success for them and opens doors for more opportunity and new unique attractions to come.

  10. Thank you for sharing Railer!! I appreciate your updates! I'm very glad to see that they are bringing back the train ride, it will be a great opportunity for a HITP attraction. Also, I'm glad that they are keeping the seaport and that they don't plan on merging everything into one big kids section, it just needs some TLC and maybe some sort of playground or something to complete the void. I'm glad to see all these little improvements being made around the park this season and look forward to hopefully more to come.

  11. Yes! I see SFOG and SFA getting a waterpark expansion especially since SFOG's waterpark is fairly new it would make sense to have it grow, they could use a lazy river and few other slides. My only concern with a RMC is the service road behind Skull Mountain as well as the rides that are next to it. We also did hear a rumor last season that they were originally planning to put a rmc in as well.

  12. If i recall correctly, I remember there was a rumor that we were supposed to be getting a RMC that went over the lake and a tunnel under the water which was easily dismissed, but what if that was the original plan for 2015 and they decided to delay it for 2016? (minus the tunnel under the lake which I don't see being approved or happening) Imagine RMC maybe finally making a steel coaster that's taller then nitro and Goliath at SFGAM (something like 250') going from BBNP all the way to Congo Rapids on the edge of the lake that would be sick!! Also, if this is the case I would expect to see them use a similar lift support structure like Goliath's which will give a nice view of the lake. I think it will compliment our line up very nicely and this is just an idea not a new rumor I heard or anything. This could be a possibility. If it's a coaster then my money is on a RMC or S&S free spin which will have an original layout.

icon_STOP.gif2016 - New Roller Coaster - Rumor - (5/5/15) A series of photos posted to the "Six Flags Great Adventure Insider Updates" shows off not only the park's new El Diablo super loop under construction, but some Surveyor equipment elsewhere in the park which apparently is somewhere between the water tower and the Picnic Grove.

This is where things get interesting however, as one rumor for 2016 coming to light suggests that the park may be planning on adding their own B&M Launched Wing Coaster, similar in Holiday World's Thunderbird. According to the rumor, one line of thought may be to somehow reuse the old Chiller station structure for the new coaster (it's wide enough, as it did used to hold two side-by-side launched coasters) and maybe even have the coaster launch out and through the old Observatory structure, which is also still standing, with the rest of the layout running somewhere between here and the water tower area and back.
Sounds like a an interesting idea to me, as it would be nice to see this section of the park brought back to life again. We'll have to wait and see what other rumors develop this season.

Now I know that everyone is saying we have way to many B&M coasters, and as much as I agree with that the GP won't care or be bothered with that fact. A wing rider will be a hit and well finally have a inverting and *reliable* launched coaster on top of a much needed new coaster in Movie town/ Old Country. Also a launched wing rider will offer a different experience to the other coasters and compliment our ride line up. There are many possibilities with this new ride for all we know it can even interact with the main park entrance and they could possibly do something similar to Gate keeper. I just hope that they decide to throw in a flat or two because there isn't any in movie town. This could also explain why the park went with such a cheap and small addition this year with El Diablo. Also, if this is a wing rider I hope that the park will start leaning towards RMC and Intamin for their future additions down the road lol.
