  1. Out of curiosity, would someone be kind enough to maybe go on google maps and copy the Ariel view on paint and draw the boarders of the parks property line? That would be awesome and very very much appreciated. I've always wondered exactly where the property begins and ends.

As for park expanding goes, I personally think that Great Adventure has potential to be a resort destination with the park size and roller coaster line up. I'd love to see a campground similar to something like Darien Lake but themed with log cabins and a hotel with a indoor waterpark like Great Escape has open year round on the park property. The reason why I would like to see overnight lodging brought to the park because it would bring much more revenue and increase of attendance from people visiting out of area. If the parks attendance increased it will leave them no choice but to add more rides to absorb the capacity.

I would also love to see the park overhaul sections like they done with Golden Kingdom, Plaza Del Carnival and Bugs Bunny National Park. However, on a slower scale where one season would be the area with a new flat or two followed by a new coaster or dark ride to anchor that section. If the park continued going the direction they started in 2005/2006 I couldn't Imagine how beautiful and different things would be today. Off course I understand that theming isn't cheap, but if the park improved it's quality then they would be able to get away with charging 80-90 for a one day ticket and 200$ season passes. Of course if everything was done right.... but the park has a long way to go before we ever come close to Universal or Disney, A LONG WAY to go.

  2. My bad I really typed Iron Cyclone, wow I'm definitely feeling under the weather lol. Thunderbird does look like its gonna take wing riders and launched coasters to a whole new level with much better capacity then a premier would offer. I wouldn't mind seeing a launched wing rider thats x-flights scale as long as it doesn't threaten any of our other coasters being relocated. Imagine down the road b&m developing a launched 4D!! Now that would be awesome!! Also, if the park wanted to go with a 4D on a budget, I would much rather see them add a S&S free spin (proven it be successful) rather then a Intamin Zac spin as I've read many negative comments of Green Lantern with the restraints and other issues.

  3. Knowing Great Adventure, their going to wanna break a record of some sort. I just hope that the next coaster isn't another one trick pony like Yolocoaster. I would rather see a smaller ride that has a fair length and quality ride experience *(Iron Cyclone, Outlaw Run) rather then a one trick pony record breaker like SFGam's Goliath, Yolocoaster, and KK.

  4. The park has so many places they could put new attractions in without removing anything.

Golden Kingdom: Former Balin's Jungle land, former Temple of the Tiger/Safari Discoveries (for a show or animal attractions please), Rolling Thunder's final turn into a station is huge, and the empty footprint left from RT right of Zumanjaro's queue.

Plaza Del Carnival: Rolling Thunders former footprint (not occupied by El Diablo)

Boardwalk: Former Simulator building, space between Green Lantern and Twister.

Fantasy Forest: A nice flat can fit across Houdini and right of Yum Yum Palace.

Lake Front: If you remove Ft Independence and Grandstand the possibilities are endless, however I would rather see shows occupy the venues with the nice quiet atmosphere.

Adventure Seaport: This section needs a overhaul and retheme just as bad as Movie Town and Old Country, Congo Rapids needs to start using the waves and water falls and Nitro needs some cosmetic love while LTSP is looking rough these days and there is a nice amount of room left from the Log Flume's Lift/pool area along with the former Koala Canyon that a nice family woodie can fit there. (relocate LTSP rides and there's even more room!)

Movie Town and Old Country: Basically everything past Dark Knight right up to Spin Miester's old ride pad has alot of potential for something great.

I would like to see next years attraction be located in MT/OC or Adventure Seaport.

  5. I can understand the environmentalist's concerns, however its not like they are bull dozing the entire forest. The way I look at it, New Jersey has almost DOUBLED the amount of developed land since the 50's destroying a significant amount of forest's in New Jersey. There is still plenty of wooded land for all those animals to relocate their habitat. I just really hope that the 25,000 tree's they plan on replanting will go into parts of the park like Adventure Alley and the Safari to give it a more wooded atmosphere, and of course parts of the parking lots and possible bordering the park and parking lots would look very nice! ( Ex: Around Superman and Green Lantern and In front of Kingda Ka)

  6. With the earlier opening it means they can get the coasters running during the warmest time of day which should be good. Of course they may close as the sun goes down, but then it's all about the lights anyway.

Exactly, I'm sure a lot can be accomplished in the first 4 hours of the park being open, also don't see most people going for the coasters in decemeber except a mere few. I'm all about the lights!

  7. My money is on a Big, Bright and Shiny Holiday in the park event.

I'll be happy for anything they announce because at the end of the day were gaining yet again something new this season. I can't wait!! I love when the park teases us lol.

  8. I think gafreak was referring to winter lights which was a drive through light show. I think Holiday in the Park will be successful being that it will take place inside the park and allow park goers an entire new experience. Also, I''m positive that Houdini, Dark Knight, Skull Mountain as well as Showcase Theater (would be very logical to have a indoor show during this time of the year) will be the most popular attractions during this event. I would love to see a light show similar to what SFMM had in their DC Universe section during their event.

Also, does anyone know if Hershey's Holiday event admission is cheaper than their regular season pricing since limited attractions may be open due to weather conditions? I think Holiday in the Park will be a hit! My Niece and Nephew LOVE Christmas lights! We actually went to check a few houses out during the holiday season so I'm sure Families will turn up for the event if promoted properly. One last question, do the animals in the safari stay all year long? If so I hope they are all sheltered and warm. I can't see the safari being open during the winter.
