  1. I went on saturday afternoon and was surprised how busy it was! i got there around 12:15. What's with the parking lot being blocked off and all the parking attendants? I went because I was in the area and for some strange reason, I wanted to go on Batman. The line for batman was at teh tunnel so I decided to go on Nitro instead. Then went on Bizarro and Runaway Train and left. It was just way too crowded for me and the type of people made it worse. When i walked around the four tents and turned towards nathan's, it was a solid crowd of people walking towards the boardwalk! it was insane! Why so busy so early? Maybe the nice weather had something to do with it?

  2. Its a shame that's how it has to be. Somebody has to die or get severely injured for changes to happen. Look at the accident with Lightening Loops. I'm sure somebody thought of the safety precautions that came from that accident BEFORE it happened. Companies do not see a need to waste money unless they have proof that something isn't safe. We got ride safety taken care of, and metal dectectors, what's next? Public safety.

  3. It's without a doubt the location of Great Adventure. I would imagine Sesame Place is bad too since there's easy access from Philly. I've never experienced problems at other parks like King's Island, King's Dominion, Busch Gardens. Their prices seem to be higher than Great Adventure and it seems to me that they offer less deals too. Hershey has always been expensive and I have never been there when it wasn't mobbed but i always go in summer time so thats probably why. If they increase the price, then they need to step it up.

  4. DANofNJ, I was wondering how we could incorporate a award winning coaster into our entrance. It adds to the excitement seeing something like that while you're entering the park. If anything, we do it bigger, better, and faster than the Cedar Fair parks! How about the tallest dive coaster? Griffon at Busch Gardens has a capacity of 1,400/hr, i'm sure we could add a train or 2 to that. When I went a few years ago, it was the longest fastest line at the park. I only waited 20 min for it!

  5. I got an email from the advisory panel to take a survey about the new Six Flags app for smart phones and tablets. It asked what features I would like on an app. Few of them mentioned by them were use phone as pass or ticket, pre order food, play games on device and win prizes, share pictures, check in at park and rides to earn badges, interactive maps, ride info, fun facts, wait times, and to use your device as a Flash Pass.

I've used similar apps at cedar fair parks and Disney World and they worked great!

    What should this app have?

  6. They should rotate who gets a big chunk of the budget. It shouldn't only be based on how popular the park is or how much money it makes. Like one year Great Adventure gets 20 million and the following year, a different park (if they can actually use the money), and so on. I know that if Great Adventure was expanded, got more staff (security), we would without a doubt be #1 in the country and maybe the world! Not to mention the boost to the local and state economy would be enormous! We have a long way to go but we need the money to do it. Six Flags needs to invest in Great Adventure more. Do we have the longest running record of rides? Like Kingda Ka is going on 10 years of being the tallest coaster in the world.

  7. Between Magic Mountain and Great Adventure, does Great Adventure have more potential as a leading Six Flags park? I think if more money was invested in Great Adventure, we would attract more people than Magic Mountain. I think Sixflags should bring Great Adventure up to Magic Mountain's level. This way they would have one major park on the east coast and one on the west.

  8. well, it would no longer be "stand up to your fear". Mantis was hard on the head but not on the legs, Green Lantern is rough on the legs but not so much the head. My friend was wearing earings on mantis and her ears were bleeding after the ride. I think it's too soon to change Green Lantern. It would be a shame to change Bizarro since it was the first ever floorless. Can't Green Lantern be a regular sit down?

  9. Is it a staffing issue or power issue? Do flats require more power than a coaster does? I'm thinking that a flats needs power to continuously run while a coaster uses power only during lift, moving trains from stopped position. As far as staffing, coasters have 3-4 people at station and 1-2 at the lines. So the max of 6 people at a coaster and maybe 2-3 for a flat. Then there's the expense. The initial cost of a coaster is far more and i would imagine so is the maintenance but a coaster would draw more people to the park yet more flats would do the same with variety. It's a tough call.

  10. I went on saturday morning. Zumanjaro was the first ride we went on. It was my cousin's first time. We were the first group and as it was going up, it stopped after the brakes. we sat ther a few minutes and they lowered us. They ran some tests and then the first car wasn't attaching to the lift. since the other 2 were connecting, they had to raise them, then drop them individually. After that, they tested it and it was fine. We got back on and it got stucka again! same spot! At this point I couldn't hold my bladder anymore so we left the ride. Went on El toro. I figured I could watch Zumanjaro from there. El Toro was down! Went on Bizarro then back to El Toro and noticed Zumanjaro was runnning one car. Went back and was stopped at the entrance. They opened it, by the time i got to the ride, it broke again!! Finally got on it and it worked! WOW! It was unusually busy for a rainy day.
