  1. Finally got to go on it! I thought the line was going to be long but it wasn't! Only waited 10 min in the stanby line. Went on again and stood in single rider line. It took 15 min but because it broke down. I loved it! I was expecting a lot more airtime. It's definately not worth waiting more than 10-15 min for, just like Kingda Ka.

  2. I had a great time today! Got to the park around 9:45am. Most of the park was closed so I headed straight to Zumanjaro. .I was anticipating a super long line because the golden kingdom was crowded but I waited less than 10 min. The second time I went on, it broke down for 10 min. Went on el toro 3 times! Bizarro only had 9 people in line around noon and waited about 15 min for nitro. As I was about to leave the park after nitro, the prize patrol spotted my six flags roller coaster shirt and gave me a free hat! Awesome!

  3. I think the whole dresscode thing is unbalanced. They find that shirt offensive but let other inappropriate clothing in. More than half the teen girls in the park wear things that are too revealing. At the same time though, it's a matter of taste and personal opinion. The security guard and the "supervisors" found it offensive so he was denied entry.

  4. I hope they turn on the AC in the staircase leading up to the Batman station. I was in there one time on a warm but not hot day and it felt like a sauna!! Hopefully if that's all we get, they can focus on better security and management for a larger expansion in the future. I can go a season or two with no or few new rides if it means a better park experience.

  5. Yeah, i totally forgot about staffing issues. I always thought of a ride like superman but the station is vertical! Imagine a ride like that but launches vertically!! AWESOME!! It would require large staffing though. How about a vertical drop coaster like the Griffon at Busch Gardens! It's high capacity and there's nothing like that up here. I think if we do get a new coaster, it needs to be a high capacity ride.

  6. I went on a cruise like that a long time ago. It was a whole package. 2 days in Ft. Lauderdale, 3 day cruise to the Bahamas and 2 days in orlando. It was $400 for 2 people and you had to find a way down there. It was a sales pitch for a timeshare. It was a 2hr sales pitch but it also gave us a free breakfast so it was well worth it!!

  7. They would need one more employee per ride but how it works at some other parks is that they have someone directing you where to stand. They ask how many and put people accordingly so each row lines up and fills up. But people are ignorant and sometimes stand where they want. I would imagine that happening at Great Adventure knowing the type of people we get. The cheaper alternative is for a single rider area at the station. Single seats are open and they take from the "pool" of people waiting.

  8. I only been there once and had a horrible experience. I love waterparks too! It was on the hottest day of that year. The actual temperature was 102! The pavement burned my feet so i had to get my sandals back on and leave them at the base of the slide. I could only go on a few since i wanted to leave by mid afternoon to go to the park. I didn't know about the tube rentals (which should be otional). I know it is optional but they kind of force you to rent one as it takes forever to get a tube. They should expand! it seems like a lot of stuff crammed into a small area. The way it was designed is backwards. The parking lot should be on the monmouth rd side and have the water park closer to the main park or make it so they share the same lot. I'm happy that the customer service is getting better!

  9. I hope it's not an impulse coaster. The most frustrating thing for me is waiting in a long line then finding out there's only one train running. It drives me crazy! These types of costers only run one train (for the most part) and often have long waits. It would be a nice fit for movitown though. If they don't add an impulse coaster, they should still re-use the chiller station.

  10. I agree with adding things to movietown. Its an area they should concentrate on, but should they build in that area and lose bizarro? Or build up around bizarro and do something to movietown in the future? Movietown isn't going anywhere but then again, bizarro might not go anywhere either. I think work on staffing and management issues first while repairing parking lot, build up around bizarro to bring more people back there, then once the foundation is in place, build up movietown. I think building flats and attractions around bizarro would be a lot cheaper than building up movietown just because of all the buildings in that area.

  11. Like was said before, it comes down to how popular a ride is. Instead of removing it, bring more people to the area. If you have to add a few flats or attractions to the area, that's a lot cheaper than removing it and having to replace it with another coaster. Maybe make the ride entrance closer. Move the wagon and props in the front. That whole area seems to be a product of poor planning. At the time, it was probably a good area to build it, but even when it was new, it had nothing close by to support it. Even the nearest bathroom is a bit of a hike. Where could they build that's close to the ride though?

  12. Instead of record breaking rides, maybe some unique rides. When I went to coney island, the steeplechase coaster you sit on "horses" hunched over like you're racing, and the restraints go on your lower back. It's small and compact but really fun. Also, the soarin eagle, you lay down! I went because they're unique. Medusa was unique because it was a "first of it's kind" and now it's not. Even though it's still a good ride. It seems to me that parks with limited space are investing in high thrill compact coasters. Except we're not limited on space.

  13. I used to work in all the boroughs and it really depends on where you're at. Manhattan was always clean and some parts of brooklyn and queens weren't too bad, but harlem and the bronx were horrible. I guess the price reflected a couple things. Being in ny things are more expensive. Being an amusement park prices get jacked up. Being the closest amusement park to the city they take advantage of that. The website that describes Luna park says that it's keeping with tradition of being a free entry park. A big thing that surprised me was how rough the Thunderbolt was for being a new ride. Green Lantern wasn't even brand new and it was very smooth. I think it had to do with the type of car. It seemed like either you're too high up from the track or the car isn't as stable as it should be.

  14. That's true! Lucky for me, that was probably the only time I will go unless they come out with a new coaster. One guy was complaining that it costs $7 for one person for the bumper cars! It was also very dirty and the employees were very miserable! We got there before it opened and as the employee was opening the gate, she said we could go in. It was at opening time. We walked down the stairs, (hands got covered in brown gunk and popcorn was pressed into the pavement) and to the ticket booth then a manger said that they weren't open yet and then said "we open like 11:15 or whenever we're ready". Then when i went to buy my tickets, loud music started playing and i couldn't even hear what the ticket person was saying! Great Adventure seemed like paradise! At the same time though, i had to remind myself and my wife that it is in the city.

  15. I went to coney island on saturday. I will NEVER complain about prices at Great Adventure ever again! For four coasters is was $63!! For two people and the third just going on one. Plus $14 for two to go on the wonder wheel! wow! Each coaster was $7-10 each!!

  16. I went on the single rider line for maverick at cedar point the first time i went and i got on a lot faster than if i stayed in the stand by. I waited almost 3 hours because it kept breaking down. The people i was behind were still in the main queue when i got off. I think it depends on what type of ride it is.
