  1. It was on every channel in New York, I saw it on the news at 6:00 on Channel 7
  2. I would have to say that my most prized souvenir from Six Flags Great Adventure would be my membership that I bought this year, it is affordable and worth it. Other than that, I would have to say some ride photos that I have of myself and my best friends from previous visits.
  3. Big Daddy= one of my all time favorites
  4. Part two- It was getting to be time for lunch, I wanted to do Nitro one more time before lunch and that would be a good way to close out my first half of Riding of the Bull. At this point, I rode Nitro 4 times, and make my way over to the area where our meal would be, it was in the same spot as last year. During lunch, I sat with the Theme Park Maniacs who were in the front of the house. It was now time for a raffle, and coming close so many times, they happened to pull out my number. I got to pick from any prizes that I wanted to, I won a Six Flags book from 2007. Since I won something, I wanted to get on a few more rides before ERT on El Toro in the evening. When I left lunch, I met Dory Oswald, the special events manager at Great Adventure and she wanted to meet me and really liked my shirt I wore to the event. It was threatening outside, all of the roller coasters were not operating due to the impending storm. The two coasters that were open were the Dark Knight and Skull Mountain and let me tell you, I have never seen them so crowded, even the Flash Pass lines were long as well. I rode those one more time, I figured I would still have fun despite the weather and had nothing to lose. It was about an hour or so later, the rides were still not operating. It was very cloudy for a while. I turned in my Flash Pass for the day after 6:00. It was the moment we have all waited for, our exclusive ride time on El Toro. My coaster buddies. Stefanie and Tom, got back to the park around 7:00, and we had to wait another 30-45 minutes, our ERT was delayed due to the weather. However, that will not put a damper on the day. We got two rides during the ERT, and ERT was extended until 8:45. But the other group, we were sharing with, got started 15 minutes before our ERT was supposed to end. It was time to get something to drink and make our way over to Bizarro. We got water, and it was still hot, this heat wasn't letting up anytime soon. Stefanie, Tom, and I got over to Bizarro and there was no line whatsoever, Tom is thinking we are going to be on here for a half and hour, so we got on the ride, and rode it three times during the Private Park Time, things are going well, despite the weather and delay to the ERT on El Toro. I broke a record on Bizarro, I rode it 4 times in one day, including three times at night. This ride is so mindblowing at night. After Bizarro, we decided to head over to Zumanjaro: Drop of Doom and it was a good thing that we did, we waited 30-40 minutes on line for it, and we just happened to get on there in the nick of time. As I was on Zumanjaro, I saw lightning in the distance, and I had a feeling that round 2 was on its way to Six Flags. Our next ride was going to be Kingda Ka, because we have not been on it tonight, but as we were exiting Zumanjaro, the rain started to come and we heard an announcement that Zumanjaro would be closing, as will Kingda Ka. Our next stop was obviously, to get out of the potential storm. The skies opened up and the rains really came down just after 10:00 Saturday night. So, we figured it, it was time to call it a night. Even though we still had less than 2 hours before the end, it is better to be safe then sorry. My next rides on Kingda Ka and Nitro will have to come on another day, that's okay. Despite the storm putting a dent on the night, I still had a good time at ROTB with my coaster buddies who became my friends last year. It was a constant downpour as we were literally running to the parking lot, they were so nice enough that they treated me to dinner and offered to take me to the hotel where I would be staying for the night. We get into the car after 10:30, and they wait with me until my sister shows up to the hotel. I was at the hotel by 11:15, the Hampton Inn & Suites in Robbinsville, about 10 minutes away from Six Flags to the west. It is a mile from the Turnpike, It was time to take a shower and sleep, because my weekend wasn't over yet, it was Seaside the very next day.
  5. Part one- I left my home in upstate New York at 4:45 am to attend my second straight Riding of the Bull, it was a pretty easy drive down and did not hit any traffic. I arrived at the park at 7:45 am and we were the 4th car in line to get in for our early entry. A few minutes later, the security opened the gates to let us in, but we had to wait for the parking lot attendant for 30-45 minutes, but no problem, we were at the front of the line anyway. As soon as my family got the car parked, we meet the Theme Park Maniacs who were parked right next to us. I had been wanting to meet these guys ever since I came across their website earlier this year. I attended ROTB with my sister, we go to check in and get our stuff for the day and I run into my coaster buddy, Stefanie and she was very excited to see me and to get the day going. During check-in, I pick up my long-awaited piece of Rolling Thunder and take it back to my car. Now that's over with, it's time to go get on line, and my sister needs a ticket for admission, so that took a few extra minutes. I get into the park at 9:20, my sister and I make our way over to Nitro, which offered morning Exclusive Ride Time, along with Skull Mountain, I wanted to pick up where I left off from last visit. I rode Nitro one time with my sister, and while on line, I get a YES chant going for the Theme Park Maniacs who happened to be on the ride. A few moments later, we are on the ride, I decide to go again, but my sister wanted to go sit on the bench. I went on Nitro 2 more times during the ERT, the second ride was a re-ride because there was nobody in my row. I met a family from across the river and sat with them. It was already 10:00 at this point and was starting to get hot. I met with my coaster buddy and sister, and our next stop before getting my mom to come into the park was to ride Zumanjaro: Drop of Doom. We make our way over to Zumanjaro/Kingda Ka area of the park and it was part of a first ride privilege part of ROTB. We chose to do Zumanjaro because it was our first time. My sister was a little skeptical at first, but my coaster buddy and I convinced her to go on it, it wasn't so scary. The ride starts out going slowly and the speed picks up as you go to the top. We all of sudden, drop down, and to be honest, I did not feel anything, except pure excitement. I accomplished my goal for ROTB and that was to ride Zumanjaro. It was time to go pick up my mother and get her free admission into the park. Six Flags season pass members get to bring in a friend for free this past weekend. It was hot as hell, they wanted to get in the air conditioning, while I picked up the flash pass for the day. I walked with them to the Safari Off Road Adventure. My sister's goal of the trip was to feed the giraffes because when she went last year, she arrived later and it wasn't going on at the time. My mom and sister were only going to be in the park for a short time anyway. After taking care of the morning admission, I met up with my buddy and we rode El Toro "The Bull" using the flash pass. It was her first time using the flash pass and it was good to catch up after a year. After getting our first taste of the bull for the day, it was time to conquer Bizarro before we did our tours, which is part of the Riding of the Bull. I signed up for the Batman/Nitro/Congo Rapids tour, she did that tour last year, and it was my first time doing a coaster tour. She did the Kingda Ka/El Toro/Bizarro tour. I walk over to the other side of the park for my 12:10 tour, it involved a lot of walking, but it was so neat and I am really starting to enjoy the tour. I was able to take some pictures of the Congo Rapids and Nitro backstage area. The one negative about this tour was the heat just kept on coming. I got to go in the Batman area of the ride, where the ride comes to a stop. After that, we did a little more walking and saw the Employee Service center. I saw Nitro get stuck right before the end, the tour guide advised us not to take pictures or videos. We walk Nitro's area, and when everything is straightened up, we took a group picture in the Nitro area. After the tour, it was time for a break, and I get a call from my sister and mother and they tell me that they are getting ready to leave for the day, I went with them for a little to buy the photos for my sister and go into the gift shop and pick up a shirt because there was some neat shirts in the store. It was around 2:00 at this point, I still have 10 more hours to go, So, my mom and sister leave for the day, and I was on my own for a little bit. I made my way over to Batman: The Ride for my next ride of the day. Our group photo was set for quarter to 3 at the Dark Knight. I have plenty of time and decide to do the Dark Knight. While in the Dark Knight, I got a text from my coaster buddy, and I told her where I was. She and I met for the photo and another ride opportunity, it was so hot at this point, my coaster buddy wanted to cool off in her pool and had to pick up my other buddy for the nighttime ERT. Before she left, I rode Skull Mountain with her, and believe it or not, that was the first coaster that me and her rode together at last year's ROTB.
  6. In my opinion, don't remove Bizarro, it is one of my top rides at Great Adventure. I rode it 4 times on Saturday (including 3 at night) during Riding of the Bull.
  7. Scary--Zumanjaro: Drop of Doom (it is a long way to the top, it seems like it lasts forever) Relaxing- Sky Ride Ugly- Green Lantern (last time I went on, I felt a pain in my leg) Impressive-- Kingda Ka and Nitro Tiring- Runaway Mine Train Vomit-Inducing- Rotor Lame- Dark Knight (it is so overrated) Classic-- Big Wheel (Park Icon) Rough-- Rolling Thunder Satisfying-- El Toro "The Bull" (Not as rough, really intense)
  8. I had my first experience with Zumanjaro: Drop of Doom this past Saturday at Riding of the Bull Seis. I really enjoyed this ride and did it twice, even in the nick of time. I did this ride around 9:30-10:00 and right after, the skies opened up and the storm rolled in Saturday night. Even though my day ended 2 hours earlier than expected, it was a great way to close out ROTB this year. I really hope that Kingda Ka and Zumanjaro run at the same time next year, that would be so neat and cool.
  9. I am absolutely surprised by the announcement, we'll just have to wait and see. Something tells me that we are getting a big coaster in 2016, you have to look at the big picture. This should not take long to put up though.
  10. We usually meet in the main entrance plaza of the park, right when you walk in. The first thing you do before signing up for the tours is to get your registration packet, it usually comes in an envelope and contains a lot of important material. After, you can sign up for the behind-the-scenes tours and they are first come, first serve. They fill up quickly. My advice is to arrive as early as possible. Registration begins at 8:30 am.
  11. The crowds were not that bad for a Saturday during the summer , but I know it picked up a little bit in the afternoon.
  12. This past Saturday, I visited the Great Escape and Splashwater Kingdom in Lake George for a couple of hours. Since I have a Six Flags season pass membership, I decided to take advantage of it by visiting my third Six Flags park this year, prior to yesterday, I had never visited 3 Six Flags parks in one year. I have been to Great Escape twice in my life. I arrived at the park around 9:20ish, when we pulled into the entrance, I discovered that the parking lot is to the left of the main entrance/drop off point and there was another lot about a mile away, first impressions, it looked abandoned. After parking the car, there was a line of people waiting to get in the park. The park opened at 10:00 am for the day. Unlike SFGA and SFNE, there wasn't that much fanfare when the park opens for the day. I purchased a Platinum Go Fast Pass for the day. The Fast Pass system differs in many ways, they give you a wristband to get on the rides, unlike the Q-Bot at Great Adventure. You enter through the exits of the attraction for access to the ride. My first stop of the day was the Canyon Blaster, it reminds me a lot of the Runaway Mine Train and Blackbeard's Lost Treasure Train. The ride was okay, but it felt more like a family coaster. I only rode that once. Next to it was the Condor, a spinning ride. That was my next attraction that I went on, it takes you high up in the air, but the ride made me a little bit dizzy. I went to the Steaming Demon, which takes you by the main entrance. It was a little bit rough and reminded me a lot of the Great American Scream Machine. After conquering two coasters and the Ghost Town area, I made my way to the Boomerang coaster, similar to Goliath at Six Flags New England and Zoomerang at Lake Compounce. I really liked Goliath a little bit better and I know Great Adventure could use one of these boomerang-style coasters. I walked around the park to check out what it had to offer. I went on the Cannonball Express for my next ride, it is similar to the Musik Express in the Old Country area. I went on one at Quassy in Connecticut, this one didn't go backwards, the one at Quassy did. I walked over to the area of the water park and where Comet, the longest tenured coaster at The Great Escape. The Comet was my next ride. I rode the Comet 5 times during my visit, and it was the only roller coaster to have a camera at the most intense part. It is a miniature version of El Toro basically. After riding the Comet, I wanted to check out their newest attraction, the Extreme Supernova which opened this year. I thought that was a neat ride and Great Adventure could use some flat rides as well as a new coaster. One of the last attractions I did was the Alpine Bobsled, a bobsled style coaster and it was the only attraction that did not have the Go Fast Pass. I really liked this ride and thought it was a unique and neat coaster as well. I would say my favorites at the Great Escape were the Comet, Extreme Supernova, and Alpine Bobsled. The Bobsled used to be at Great Adventure back in the day. All in all, I had a pretty good day at The Great Escape & Splashwater Kingdom. It is a park that is geared more towards families with children, it is a good place to bring kids to get their taste of an amusement park. This park used to be called Storytown USA, before Six Flags purchased the park in the 1990s. It is unclear when I will visit again, I had planned to be there for a few hours, but I stayed for 6 1/2 hours and left the park at 4:30. I crossed off 5 more coasters for my bucket list. I visited four parks this month, and two for the first time ever, Lake Compounce and Six Flags New England.
  13. I really hope that Zumanjaro is open on September 6th, because I will be at SFGA for Riding of the Bull. That is one of my goals for the day.
  14. I would say Hershey Park is Great Adventure's biggest competition because it does have some of the same rides that Great Adventure has. In all of my visits to Hershey, it is always been a nice park to visit and had a good experience. They have a Chocolate World, open year round. I know the park is open until December for Christmas and the holidays. On the other hand, I haven't been to Dorney since I was younger, the last time I went, the crowd was mostly all inner city because it is near NYC and Philly. Hershey is one of my other favorite parks I have been to.
  15. The lines were not too bad in the theme park on Saturday. Most of the people were in the Hurricane Harbor because it was hot that day. On a few attractions, the lines were long.
  16. Now that I've had something to eat and drink, it was time to go back to the DC Superhero Adventures Area to ride Bizarro a couple more times to gain an advantage on Batman. I rode Bizarro 4 more times in the next hour, it was 1:30 at this point. On my 5th ride, I sat next to a girl who was riding Bizarro for the first time ever on a major milestone. She was celebrating her 18th birthday, so I wished her a Happy Birthday and also told her it was National Roller Coaster Day, she thought it was so cool. Knowing that I now rode Bizarro 5 times, it was time for a little break. I rode The Catwoman's Whip, right across from Bizarro and Gotham City Gauntlet. I rode twice on each ride. The last ride was a little uncomfortable, so I wanted to take a little break and checkout the Hurricane Harbor area of the park. Hurricane Harbor was more packed than the theme park itself. I wanted to walk around the Hurricane Harbor, and I should have brought my bathing suit, it was getting a little hot. It was 4:00, and I was going to be there for a few more hours, since Batman is right next to the entrance, I wanted to ride that as many times as I can before leaving. I rode it 8 more times to make it an even ten. I rode on the front row for my first ride, so it was meant to be for my last two rides on Batman. Since I travelled solo, a family offered me to ride with them and they asked me if I wanted to do the front row with them, I said absolutely. I rode Batman 10 times. An hour later, I wanted to do the Mind Eraser, but backed out at the last minute. I wanted to ride Goliath two more times, because it was one of my favorites there, besides Bizarro and Batman. After the fourth ride on Goliath, it was time to head back to Bizarro and that would be my last ride before departing. Before I leave an amusement park, I always like to do one of the best rides, so I can have that fresh in my mind going home. Another example is when my family and I go to Disney, we like to go to the Magic Kingdom on the last day, because it is a long ride from Florida to New York. I rode Bizarro 6 more times before leaving, because it is the best ride in the park. I rode Bizarro 11 times in all, narrowly defeating Batman, which I rode 10 times. My 11 rides on Bizarro today, leave me one shy of 12, that was how many times I rode Boulder Dash at Lake Compounce two weeks ago at my first ACE event of 2014, the Countdown to Connecticut. I left the park at 7:00, and spent nearly 9 hours in the park. It was a good park and hope to be back again some other time. Since I am an ACE member, I made my debut at Riding of the Bull at Great Adventure last September. I had one of the best times of my life that day. I cannot wait for this year's Riding of the Bull, only three weeks away. It is a really fun event, even though it is a long day, it is so worth it. I plan on breaking my own personal records on my favorite coasters that day. Have a good night everyone.
  17. First and foremost, I wanted to take this time to wish everyone a Happy National Roller Coaster Day. Every year, August 16th is designated as National Roller Coaster Day. I decided to spend this day at a park I have never been before, Six Flags New England near Springfield, Massachusetts. I arrived at the park just after 10am, and the first impression was that it looked nice and inviting from the outside. Since I am a Six Flags season pass member, I took advantage of the unlimited admission to all the Six Flags parks. Six Flags New England is Great Adventure's sister park. My first stop of the day was the Flash Pass Reservation Center. I purchased the Platinum Flash Pass for the first time ever. Since the park did not open until 10:30, I had to wait a little before I rode my first ride of the day. Before opening, there is a pomp and circumstance surrounding the opening, the hostess led everyone in two cheers, when she said Six, we said Flags. After that, she said Go, we said Big. The motto is Go Big, Go Six Flags. Now that opening was out of the way, it was time to ride my first ride, which was Bizarro, one of the top rated Steel Coasters in the country. The lift hill seems like it lasts forever, and it includes some of the elements from Bizarro at Great Adventure. Since I had the Platinum pass, I did not know at first, it allowed me to ride twice. But, I know I will be back later in the day to do it. No worries. As I am purchasing my ride photo to put on my pass, the photo employee told me that Bizarro and Batman are the only two rides that have cameras at the most intense part. After Bizarro, I make my way over to Batman: The Dark Knight on the South End of the park. Batman: The Dark Knight reminds me a lot of Bizarro at SFGA, because it has the same color track. I rode twice in the front row. After conquering the Nitro and El Toro of SFNE, it was time to walk down to the Mind Eraser, it reminds me of Batman: The Ride and the Great American Scream Machine. I rode that twice as well. After that, it was time to make my way over to the Main Street area to ride Thunderbolt, it reminds me of Wildcat at Lake Compounce and Rolling Thunder (but with one track). I rode in the middle the first ride, and the back for the second row. Since I was riding twice, they told me I had to go in the back row. It was very rough in the back row, it was throwing me around a little. Next, I rode Goliath, a boomerang coaster, and some of the guys I rode with are from the University of Connecticut football team. I rode that twice as well. Before lunch, I made my way to the North End of the park where the world's tallest Sky Screamer was. Right across was the Cyclone, and the sign said Under Construction, Stay Tuned on August 28th. August 28th is a special day for Six Flags, they announce the 2015 attractions nationwide. Cyclone was another wooden coaster at the park, that closed in late July after 31 years of operation. I wanted to do one more ride before lunch, I rode Pandemonium, a spinning coaster in the same end of the park. At this time, it was time for lunch, I went to JB's Smokehouse Barbecue, right across from Goliath. It is a sports bar and grill, which has all the Boston area teams. They have pictures of all the area teams and their venues. "Beantown" is only a few hours from SFNE. This is the end of the first half of my day at Six Flags New England.
  18. In my opinion, the Green Lantern is one of the most uncomfortable roller coasters I have been on. I've rode it 4 times (once in each of my last 4 visits). The last time I rode it, I felt a small pain in my leg during and after the ride. I know it is a stand-up coaster, and it sometimes it is very uncomfortable to stand up straight because there is little space next to you. I would rather it be a sit-down coaster.
  19. I'm glad that you are coming to Riding of The Bull with ACE, it is such a fun event, you will not be disappointed. The other group that we are sharing the park with is the Fairgrounds group. Their event is called Fairgrounds: Out at Night and they have been doing this the last 10 years. They are part of the LGBT community, and they were a wonderful group to share the park with. We shared the park with them last year during the night time session after the park closed to the public.
  20. During the ERT, I found out El Toro was a hybrid coaster, and it is the best hybrid coaster I've ever been on. I really enjoyed Boulder Dash though, and it is one of the best wooden coasters I've been on. You should definitely experience it one day, it really is that good, especially in the dark. That is another coaster to add to the bucket list. I still love El Toro though.
  21. I saw the report of Nitro's breakdown on the Channel 4 news at 11 Friday night before I went to bed. It would be terrifying to me, but at the same time, it would be cool to walk down the stairs of Nitro, which is my favorite at Six Flags Great Adventure.
  22. At 2:20 pm, after reliving some of my youth at Quassy Amusement Park, it was time to make the short trip to Lake Compounce, which is about 20-30 minutes away. This will be my first ever visit to Lake Compounce. On my way to the second park of the day, I hit a small traffic jam on Interstate 84 in Waterbury, I think to myself, not a problem, we have a plenty of time. It just took an extra 10 minutes. Lake Compounce is located right across the street from ESPN in Bristol. It is about a mile or so away to the entrance. During registration, the packet included a meal ticket as well as a free parking ticket for Lake Compounce. From the parking lot to the main entrance, you have to walk a little bit and through a tunnel. Right at the main plaza, you stare at the Wildcat roller coaster. Since this was my first time here, I decided to walk around and get a feel for the place. My first ride at Lake Compounce was the Wildcat, a wooden roller coaster (similar to Rolling Thunder, but it was only a single track). The ride itself was good, but rough. A few minutes later, I go over to the other side of the park and check that side out, my second ride of the day was the Zoomerang, a boomerang-style coaster. You go backwards up the lift hill, and then forward. After going forward, they take you up another lift hill, and this time around, you go backwards. It was the first boomerang coaster I have been on in a long time. Now, it was time to tackle one of El Toro's biggest competitors before dinner, the Boulder Dash. I have heard a lot of good reviews about this coaster. I experienced the back row for my first ever ride, the ride attendant, asked me which is my favorite? I say El Toro, she said by the time I get done, you will have a completely different answer. Boy, was I right, Boulder Dash is the best wooden coaster I have been on, even though I love El Toro, I think this has it beat. So, it was time to have dinner, which was a big buffet in a private picnic area. We shared the area with 10 other groups that were at the park. Since it was such a long walk from the picnic area to the park, there is a trolley that takes you back to the park. So, me and my fellow coaster enthusiasts decide to take the trolley. Neat little ride. It was now around 7:00, I went on the Wildcat for the second time with my coaster crew for the day. In my opinion, the second ride is so much better than the first. With some time to kill, we decide that were going to take a little break for a while. We went into the gift shop and relaxed for a bit on the bench. Night was beginning to fall, so we decide that we were going to experience Thunder and Lightning, a giant screaming swing. This was my first time on a screaming swing ride. It reminds me a little of Twister, but it doesn't twist, but it gets higher and higher as you go up in the air. What would be a night without a ride on Boulder Dash? The answer is I really don't know. After Thunder and Lightning, we go over and this time, we decided to experience the front row on Boulder Dash. We want to get both perspectives. In my opinion, I think the front row on Boulder Dash is better, because it really feels like it moves faster and you know what to expect. This is totally mind-blowing at night. So, why not do it again? Is that even a question? After the third time on the coaster, My coaster friends for the day decided to take a little break before the nighttime ERT after the park closes. For me, I ride two more times before the Exclusive Ride Time to make it five times before ERT. Since we had a small group, our ERT is going to be epic. Because there was a small crowd before the park closing and our ERT, ERT was pushed back 15 minutes, but I was at the front of the line, the ACE regional rep and I were chatting with the "security" guard, and we were telling her about ACE and some of our members, we had one person from England and another who rode a thousand coasters. The American Coaster Enthusiasts are not only Americans, we have 5,000 members all over the world. It was the moment, that we have all waited for, night ERT on Boulder Dash. As I said before, I was first in line, so I got the front row and I sat with the ACE regional rep, Rus. Since the regional rep was on the train, it was meant to be for a double ride to begin the ERT. What a way to start the nighttime ERT!!! Since the train overshot, they had some issues with the restraints, I said, why not a triple ride? Can this get any better? So it wasn't meant to be, no problem, I just get back on line, and took the first available row. I stayed on that row for 5 consecutive rides without having to leave the train. I asked the ride attendant the time, it was 10:55, I say this is going to be my last ride because I have to leave by 11. I rode Boulder Dash 12 times, including 7 times during the ERT. Before I close my trip report, I just want to say on behalf of the American Coaster Enthusiasts, we just want to say that all the employees from Quassy to Lake Compounce were all enthusiastic and welcoming, especially the crew at Boulder Dash, who had the most energy I've ever seen. We love you guys very much and really appreciate for all you do each day, Thank You for having us at your parks for the day and night. We would love for you to join ACE, you would be a welcoming addition to our team.
  23. Yesterday, I went to my first ACE event of 2014, Countdown to Connecticut which was held at Quassy Amusement Park in Middlebury and Lake Compounce in Bristol. I left my house around 7-7:15, and while I was on I-84 in NY, it really wasn't raining that bad, but when I reached Connecticut, the rain started to become steadier. I think to myself, is this event going to be cancelled, but it was supposed to clear up later in the day. I did not think it was going to be cancelled. Sure enough, it wasn't and there were many cars in the parking lot as I arrived at Quassy Amusement Park an hour later, and we had our morning registration in the restaurant because of the rain. There was also a continental breakfast at morning check-in. A wristband was also included to get all the rides we wanted to do at Quassy. Good deal!!! After registration, it was time for exclusive ride time on the Wooden Warrior, which opened in 2011. In my opinion, it is a great coaster to have kids start out on and it is in my opinion, "El Toro's baby brother". I rode this thing 10 times (some of them included double rides and in the rain). The coasters seem to run a little bit faster in the rain, it was just a misting during the morning. Before heading to the Little Dipper, the other coaster during the morning ERT. Because the Little Dipper is so short, they allow double rides anyway, but you have to get off after two rides, but not a problem, I just get back on. After getting my feet wet on the Little Dipper, it was time to go ride the Wooden Warrior some more. After the 15th ride, I venture back to the Little Dipper for four more rides to close out ERT. It was getting around 11:00 (park opens to the public) and I have an hour before lunch, so I decided to relive some of my youth and take a break from the coasters. Just as the general public was coming, we break for our first group photo in the parking lot. We took the photo near the Wooden Warrior. After that, I went on a few rides that were absolutely fun and remember them because I went to Quassy when I was younger. In my opinion, it is a cute little park, and it is the perfect place to bring children to get their first taste of an amusement park. Before lunch, I rode the Little Dipper two more times to make it a perfect ten. Now it was time for lunch, and they had a pavilion reserved specifically for us. We had hamburgers, hot dogs, chicken, salads, and all the fixins. The sun started to make an appearance during lunch, and the weather improved for the rest of the day. It was actually a really nice day, not too hot and the rain let up. Good sign of things to come. Before I head to Lake Compounce for the second half of our event, I wanted to go on the carousel and a few more rides. This was my first time riding a carousel in 4 years, the last time I rode the merry-go-round was at Disney World. I had originally planned to be at Quassy until 1:30-2:00. It just wouldn't seem right if I didn't close out my visit with the Wooden Warrior. I rode it three more times, I really wanted to do it at least 20 times, but when I saw the line was getting a little long, I decided after 18 times, it was time to call it a day and make my first ever visit to Lake Compounce. That will be in Part 2 of my trip report.
