  1. I seriously cannot wait until September 6th, the countdown is officially on. Believe it or not, I made my ACE debut at this very same event and let me tell you, I had one of the best times of my life that day and broke many new records on my favorites. In fact, I still remember that day like it was yesterday!! I rode Nitro 9 times (4 times in morning, 5 times at night), El Toro 5 times (all during ERT), Kingda Ka 4 times (one time during the day, 3 times at night), Bizarro (once in afternoon, and at night, so cool and mindblowing) and Batman twice, Skull Mountain, Mine Train, Green Lantern, and Superman once. I was in the park for 15 hours that day and it was the first time I rode my favorites all during the nighttime session. In my opinion, night rides are the absolute best!!! This year, I plan on breaking my own personal records. It is going to be an epic day and night. Speaking on the same subject, I will be going to my first ACE event of 2014 tomorrow in Connecticut, that will take place at Quassy and Lake Compounce.
  2. I personally love using the Flash Pass every time I go to Great Adventure, to me, it is worth every penny. I started out by using the regular Flash Pass to get a feel for the system, and I was like "wow, I am definitely going to buy this again, it's that good". The next few times, I used the Gold Flash Pass, and it is one of the best inventions that Six Flags parks came up with. This allowed me to do 5 rides in 1 hour. The last time I visited, I talked to the person serving me the flash pass that day, and I told him it is my 3rd time using the pass, and he gave me a card to bypass training next time. I still want to experiment the Platinum Flash Pass. I highly recommend the Flash Pass, if you love to fit in as much as possible, it beats waiting in long lines.
  3. I know it doesn't relate to Great Adventure, The last time I was at Disney World (Magic Kingdom), as I was waiting to get in the park, I saw a guest try to smuggle beer into the Magic Kingdom and get this, he had kids with him!!! If you don't know, the Magic Kingdom is the only place at Disney World that does not serve beer or alcoholic beverages. I was completely flabbergasted, what the hell is he thinking, but it was funny and stupid at the same time. I think to myself, "Do you really need beer at the Magic Kingdom to have a good time, wow, what an idiot". This was on my first day at Walt Disney World back on April 12, 2010 and it was an unexpected trip to Disney.
  4. I would say that water rides are most popular when it is hot out, it can also provide thrills like a roller coaster
  5. I agree that there needs to be more hotels within 5-10 minutes of Great Adventure. Most of the hotels are off the Turnpike (Exits 7 & 8) and you have to pay a toll if you don't have EZPass, and plus that area of the turnpike gets backed up, but the turnpike expansion is almost complete. A new hotel just opened up this year and it is 10 minutes from Six Flags, the Hampton Inn & Suites in Robbinsville. It is off of Exit 7 on I-195 (only a mile from the Turnpike). It's in a good location. In my opinion, a hotel right on Great Adventure's property would not only bring more money to the park, it would make it a premiere destination as a gateway to the shore, which would bring in more big crowds, it is good and bad at the same time. By building a hotel on site, I also agree that Six Flags should be open until at least Christmas, because it can be a good way to beat all of the crowds at the malls on Black Friday. As a former retail employee, to be honest, It would be a much safer place to shop. If Busch Gardens, Hershey, and Disney have Holiday celebrations, why can't Six Flags Great Adventure?
  6. It does not make any sense to get rid of Bizarro, it is one of the coolest rides to ride after dark with all of the neat special effects. Bizarro is one of the most underrated attractions at SFGA. The only thing I hope for 2015 at SFGA is a new coaster in the Chiller area (behind Dark Knight). We will find out August 28th. For those of you that are ACE or even non-ACE members, next year's Coaster Con will be held right at Great Adventure. ACE is always looking to expand and we would love to have many of you at ACE's premiere event.
  7. The last time I was there as I was waiting for the shuttle bus to take me back to the drop off lot, I saw a man getting arrested and being led into a cop car, I wondered what was going on, this was around 6:30 that night. You really need to be careful after 6:00
  8. In my opinion, I know the Great Adventure History Museum deserves a permanent home within the park. It would really put Great Adventure on the map and stand out from the other parks. I really hope to see the museum soon, it looks so cool.
  9. I really hope that Bizarro is not on the "chopping block". Even though it is in the Frontier Adventures area, in my opinion, it is an underrated coaster that no one really talks about. I think it is one of the coolest coasters around, it has a totally different mindset when riding it after the dark. I rode it after dark during ACE NJ's Riding of the Bull last year and I thought it was so cool and I can't wait to do it again at night this year. I know a coaster should be added in the area behind the Dark Knight where the Chiller used to be. I know it would bring new life to that area of the park. I can't wait to see what the 2015 season has in store for Six Flags Great Adventure.
  10. The last time I was there, the KFC down the road offers season pass members 20 % off their entire meal
  11. Even though, I have not experienced Zumanjaro: Drop of Doom yet, I can say that it will be in my top 5 things to do in my next visit. My top rides at Great Adventure are Nitro (my favorite coaster at GA), El Toro (my second favorite, but # 1 if this was March Madness), Kingda Ka (even though it is like a 30 second commercial, it's just a little too quick), Bizarro (underrated, but so cool at night), and the fifth one is tough to choose between Batman and Zumanjaro. Zumanjaro was on the Channel 11 News this morning.
  12. Hi everyone, I've finally decided to join Great Adventure History because this is a neat and interesting site and it would be nice to meet others who have the same interest of amusement parks and roller coasters. A little about myself, My name is Brian, I am known as "Bri-Man", that was a nickname given to me while I was at school. While in school, I was a communications major with a minor in public relations. I currently live in Newburgh, New York (60 miles north of NYC). I have a deep appreciation for amusement parks and roller coasters. I have been to several amusement parks throughout my life. Because I love it so much, last year, I joined the nationally known American Coaster Enthusiasts and let me tell you, it was the best decision I have made. Believe it or not, I made my ACE debut last September at Riding of the Bull Cinco held at Great Adventure. I had the best of time of my life that day and broke many new records on my favorite coasters. Speaking of that, my favorite coasters at GA are Nitro, El Toro, and Kingda Ka. I am already looking forward to returning to Riding of the Bull on September 6, 2014. I am looking forward to getting to know all of you.
  13. I also visited Six Flags Great Adventure for the first time as a season pass member on Saturday June 28th. I was able to do 11 rides in 7 hours. I rode Batman, Nitro, The Dark Knight, Skull Mountain, SkyScreamer, El Toro, Bizarro, Runaway Mine Train, Green Lantern, Twister, and Superman. I rode Nitro 3 times, El Toro and Bizarro 2 times. I was not able to go on Kingda Ka because it was closed for a majority of the day.
