  1. Alpine Bobsled had its last runs ever at Six Flags Great Escape this past Monday. Like always Bobsled was Bobsled but the parks staff was determined to get it up for those who wanted one more ride.

They did get it running and once it was up they kept it running straight through park closing until the line cleared. The final run was well after park closing. Once the line cleared TGE's Park President shut Bobsled down for the last time and then the park invited a few of us to walk the lift hill for some sunset views one last time.

As a send off it gave some great rides its final day. Here's a few pics of Sarajevo / Alpine Bobsled its final operating day at TGE!

I'm gonna wait until we see more definitive clues, but running a big teaser campaign for either bricks with names on them or a kiddie coaster seems very excessive. Most people are naturally going to expect something alot bigger than either of those things and will just be disappointed.

Didn’t they tease for looping dragon though too?  Until we see a large scale investment from the current leadership I’m skeptical but definitely hoping something good is in the works.

  3. This past weekend I had the opportunity to try out the Flavors Of The World Food Festival.  Overall I thought the food was some of the best that I've had at a SF's park.  Due to the weather it was dead overall but it made for a great day for my Pops and I as we got to enjoy the day and I got on a ton of rides too.  5 laps on Toro without leaving the station which was awesome.  I put together a blog post about the festival which features the stands, menus and some close ups of what we tried if anyone would like to check it out.

Has anyone else attended yet?  If you have what are your thoughts about the festival overall?

    Hi all!

I went to Great Adventure this past Friday, I was glad to be back!

First ride of the day was Skull Mountain, and...

No strobes, effects, music... anything really?

Has it been that way for a while, or did I just happen to have an unlucky ride?

    Thanks :Skull5:

Pretty sure it depends on the time of year for some of it.

I've been hearing family coaster taking over that area, but not a boomerang.

I'll be curious to see if Sand Serpent is relocated to one of the Sesame Place parks. A Mack mouse would be an easy fit for either one.

Sesame Place Philadelphia already has something else in the works for 2024. Not that it couldn’t happen.

  6. Over Memorial Day Weekend Sesame Place Philadelphia kicked off their Most Splashtacular Season ever!  I had the chance to attend the media day events. It was a great day and I just really love this park. Here’s a full recap and even a little preview of Something BIG that’s coming to the park in the future.

For years Great Adventure prohibited cameras on all rides except the Carousel, Skyride, and Big Wheel.

It looks like cameras are no longer allowed on those rides too now.

That really stinks if true. Some great photos get shared from the Skyride and Big Wheel.

I've heard they are better, but it's still an SLC which isn't a great ride to start with.

They are 100% better. I stopped riding Mind Eraser now Riddler at SFNE before the new trains. Now I love it. Yes you get tossed around but there’s no head banging so it’s a fun intense ride. Ride it all the time now. Great to see them giving these trains to other parks.

  9. A few weeks ago I had the opportunity to visit Sesame Place Philadelphia for the first time. Currently they are featuring the A Very Furry Christmas event. What a fun family park and my favorite part was the entertainment.  The Elmo show was entertaining, all the characters had long lines for photos throughout the day and the parade was excellent. Really shows what entertainment can add to a park visit. I put a little post together from the visit if anyone would like to check it out.

It aired in NJ too.  Luckily I recorded the parade so we have it to add to our commercial collection.  The first and only commercial for the 2022 season airs in November!

    Better late than never? 😉

  11. Over Labor Day weekend I had the chance to make my first ever visit to Seabreeze Amusement Park in Rochester, New York. This park has some classics and a lot of history. Thanks to the their awesome team we had a great day and also had the chance to film on four rides.  After getting back I had some fun editing the footage below.  Thanks in advance for checking them out!

Bear Trax:  Junior steel coaster for the kiddos or kids at heart.

Bobsleds:  A true home grown park creation.  The story goes that park owner, George Long, visited Disneyland.  After seeing the then new Matterhorn with its tubular steel track he came back and looked to spice up an existing ride with this same style track and it’s still in operation today.

Log Flume:  Classic Log Flume ride featuring one of the steepest drops in the country.

Jack Rabbit:  Built all the way back in 1920.  At 102 Years young Jack Rabbit is the oldest continuously operating roller coaster in America!
