Alpine Bobsled had its last runs ever at Six Flags Great Escape this past Monday. Like always Bobsled was Bobsled but the parks staff was determined to get it up for those who wanted one more ride. They did get it running and once it was up they kept it running straight through park closing until the line cleared. The final run was well after park closing. Once the line cleared TGE's Park President shut Bobsled down for the last time and then the park invited a few of us to walk the lift hill for some sunset views one last time. As a send off it gave some great rides its final day. Here's a few pics of Sarajevo / Alpine Bobsled its final operating day at TGE!

Six Flags Additions for 2024 (Not Great Adventure)
Sluggo77 replied to Medusa42's topic in Industry Rumors
I’m wondering if there could be a second round of announcements. Nothing really waterpark based announced besides what was supposed to be for this year. SFNE feels almost forgotten lately but a waterpark addition would be welcomed. -
I plan to be at TGE Labor Day. Hope to get a final day ride if it opens.

Didn’t they tease for looping dragon though too? Until we see a large scale investment from the current leadership I’m skeptical but definitely hoping something good is in the works. -

Enjoying Flavors Of The World - Six Flags Great Adventure - 6/24/2023

This one is at Great Adventure not SFNE. -
This past weekend I had the opportunity to try out the Flavors Of The World Food Festival. Overall I thought the food was some of the best that I've had at a SF's park. Due to the weather it was dead overall but it made for a great day for my Pops and I as we got to enjoy the day and I got on a ton of rides too. 5 laps on Toro without leaving the station which was awesome. I put together a blog post about the festival which features the stands, menus and some close ups of what we tried if anyone would like to check it out. https://www.sfneonline.org/2023/06/28/enjoying-flavors-of-the-world-six-flags-great-adventure/ Has anyone else attended yet? If you have what are your thoughts about the festival overall?

Pretty sure it depends on the time of year for some of it.

Sesame Place Philadelphia already has something else in the works for 2024. Not that it couldn’t happen. -
How much longer until we see a new CEO try to fix things is my question? Any chance some of the quality people who were the backbone of the park come back if new leadership does come in?

A Splashtacular Visit to Sesame Place Philadelphia
Sluggo77 replied to Sluggo77's topic in Trip Reports
Thanks! Oscars was closed most of the day so I was super happy to see it open later. It really is a fun coaster. I find the park just to be fun to visit in general. -
Over Memorial Day Weekend Sesame Place Philadelphia kicked off their Most Splashtacular Season ever! I had the chance to attend the media day events. It was a great day and I just really love this park. Here’s a full recap and even a little preview of Something BIG that’s coming to the park in the future. https://www.sfneonline.org/2023/06/11/counting-down-to-splashtacular-fun-sesame-place/

Brian Bacica Appointed Park President of Six Flags Great Adventure

Guess we will now see if the park gets any better direction moving forward. -
Guess something similar to what SFFT just opened is coming from the looks of that.

That really stinks if true. Some great photos get shared from the Skyride and Big Wheel.

Six Flags Additions for 2023 (Not Great Adventure)
Sluggo77 replied to Medusa42's topic in Industry Rumors
They are 100% better. I stopped riding Mind Eraser now Riddler at SFNE before the new trains. Now I love it. Yes you get tossed around but there’s no head banging so it’s a fun intense ride. Ride it all the time now. Great to see them giving these trains to other parks. -
Seems like last year was lined up to be a special year. Would have really liked to have seen Spanos get a chance to let his vision develop for the parks.
-
Because green is a color missing from coasters at the park and Nitro’s name isn’t unique. Go with something like Goliath to keep it fresh . I just don’t get it.
-
Are there any hints or rumors of anything special planned. Seems really quiet for anything SF’s except for SFFT.

A few weeks ago I had the opportunity to visit Sesame Place Philadelphia for the first time. Currently they are featuring the A Very Furry Christmas event. What a fun family park and my favorite part was the entertainment. The Elmo show was entertaining, all the characters had long lines for photos throughout the day and the parade was excellent. Really shows what entertainment can add to a park visit. I put a little post together from the visit if anyone would like to check it out. https://www.sfneonline.org/2022/12/25/h-is-for-holidays-sesame-place/

Seabreeze Amusement Park Labor Day Weekend 2022

Over Labor Day weekend I had the chance to make my first ever visit to Seabreeze Amusement Park in Rochester, New York. This park has some classics and a lot of history. Thanks to the their awesome team we had a great day and also had the chance to film on four rides. After getting back I had some fun editing the footage below. Thanks in advance for checking them out! Bear Trax: Junior steel coaster for the kiddos or kids at heart. Bobsleds: A true home grown park creation. The story goes that park owner, George Long, visited Disneyland. After seeing the then new Matterhorn with its tubular steel track he came back and looked to spice up an existing ride with this same style track and it’s still in operation today. Log Flume: Classic Log Flume ride featuring one of the steepest drops in the country. Jack Rabbit: Built all the way back in 1920. At 102 Years young Jack Rabbit is the oldest continuously operating roller coaster in America!

Here’s a little Summer Vibes Festival post I had put together too. Really liked what they did with this festival. https://www.sfneonline.org/2022/07/31/taking-in-the-summer-vibes-six-flags-great-adventure/
