  1. Does anybody know Neil's email address? My mom fell really badly while walking past the security checkpoint, on the way out of the park. There's a big lip on this circle thing, she's sure she's sprained her wrist or worse, and her knees are ripped up as well.

Neil who? It may be on the website

  2. To be honest, and I know people won't agree, but I don't like the idea of virtual reality. Especially not on Skull Mountain. Skull Mountain has the best load time in the park, that's why the line moves so quickly. Now the Virtual Reality will be stacking up trains. And they really should have a non VR line because you'd end up waiting in an hour long line just to ride the ride without VR. Why ruin such a good family coaster by making the lines insane for families. Not trying to spark an argument, but I'm very glad the VR is only until October 31st.

I think SIx Flags wants to test the whole VR thing, and skull mountain is the only one they can do it on in the park. It needs to be a ride with little to no themeing that isn't too popular because of wait times.

  3. You never know, they could be like Six Flags Great America when they did X-Flight, then 2 years later Goliath. Besides, Great Adventure is (arguably) the best Six Flags park. They deserve better, and you never know if they can do that. The last roller coaster that was not a relocation or clone was El Toro in 2006. They need roller coasters, and just more rides in general.

True but what looks like the current direction and focus of the chain plus the amount of great coasters already at the park, I would guess that the next few years are going to be focused on diversifying with flats and dark rides, which we desperately need.

  4. What I think we could be expecting in 2018-2022

2018- Zamperla Giant Discovery in Old Country+Old Country and Movie Town become Gotham City

2019- Custom RMC or RMC T-Rex In Old Country or Rolling Thunder's Footprints, Also HH Expansion

2020- Family/ Thrill Ride Package. Maybe a 2nd Generation Enterprise, Flying Scooters, and something like Hurricane Force 5

2021- Family GCI Wooden Coaster in Rolling Thunder's Footprints or in Old Country

2022- Retheme kiddie areas to Bugs Bunny Boomtown and DC Superfriends

I don't think we'll get a new, big coaster until at least 2020+

  5.

I don't know if its just me seeing this, but they do have a fenced off area next to The Joker. I'm not sure if it's a big enough area, but that would be a perfect spot for a Zamperla Giant Discovery.

I think if anywhere, i think it would be in Old Country, fitting with the predicted DC overhaul of the area. The fenced off area is just where they took down the grandstand, and they don't want people going in the water.

That really would be a perfect fit, but there's so many places it could go. Such as, Old Country, Rolling Thunder's former spot (Entrance in Golden Kingdom), or on the Lakefront.

I don't really think there's enough room in lakefront for a whole coaster. Most likely would be the rolling thunder footprint or old country area, depending if they want it to be more like a compact invert coaster or a hyper coaster.

  6. Here's my Great Adventure predictions for the future:

2021: A hotel, a new parking lot, a new entrance to the park, a year round park, relocated HH with new slides additions to former baboon section to connect the park

I doubt this is gonna happen any time soon, especially under Six Flags management. It's too large of a project for one year, moving all of HH, making the park fully year round, AND a hotel, new parking lot and new entrance. It seems extremely unlikely.

  7. Hi I'm Joe.

I'm 14 years old, and I moved to the area in 2008. I've been going to the park since 2010 and had a pass since 2011. I live about 20 minutes away from the park ,and it's been a huge part of my growing up. I remember it being a huge rite of passage for me and my friends to reach 54 inches, and making a huge deal out of going on Kingda Ka the first time. Everyone got the same shirts the first time we went on, and it was a really memorable experience for all of us. I just recently became an active member of the site, and I really enjoy all the interesting discussions and different points of view.

  8. It's always POSSIBLE to update. It's just not probable.

To add elements (waterfalls, geysers, etc.) costs thousands of dollars. There is no way to make that profitable for the park. It's one thing to spend money adding VR to a coaster because people will come to the park to try it. If they say "we added waterfalls to our 36 year old rapids ride) no one will go out of their way to make a special trip to the park to try it. It would make a few people who were already coming to the park happy, but no one will make a special trip.

Yeah I doubt we'll get an update anytime soon, if ever. It's not the best, but still a pretty fun ride

  9. Muslim Family Day is an annual event hosted by the Islamic Circle of North America at Six Flags Theme Parks nationwide. Muslim Family Day was first introduced in 2000 at Six Flags Great Adventure in Jackson, NJ, and has since expanded across the country. The event is one of the largest outdoor gatherings of Muslims in the United States, now attracting around 50,000 attendees a year.

Muslim Family Day is the quintessential American Muslim experience and provides the community with a form of entertainment unlike any other. Against the backdrop of Six Flags roller coasters, rides, shows and attractions, Muslims and their friends, families and guests enjoy Halal foods, open-air bazaars featuring Muslim merchants, congregational prayers, informative lectures and a constant stream of Islamic nasheed. Muslim Family Day also raises awareness about Islam and Muslims and promotes a better understanding of the faith.

Just in case anyone was interested, I found this

  10. I disagree. For a raft that fits eight people, all eight should be getting wet. People don't ride rapids to stay dry.

True, but this I'm not sure is fixable. You take most raft rides, even Kali River Rapids in Disney's Animal Kingdom, and it's always a gamble of who gets soaked and who gets out unscathed. This is a common theme among most raft rides, and I think most people have come to accept it as part of the experience. You have to kind of take a step back from the enthusiast side of it and look more as a member of the GP. I'm only 14, so it's not long ago I was still riding these rides with my whole family. It was always fun to see who would get the most wet, and we'd joke and laugh about it. And I really think that's mainly who these rides are geared towards: Families rather than enthusiasts. And I no that's no excuse, but I kinda feel that's just the way it is.
