It is kind of good, in my opinion, that there will not be a name change. Although it may not fit in the section, it became a classic. Medusa: The worlds first floorless coaster. Six Flags could suprise us and have a compleatly different theme than we are guessing. Not anything to do with Lex Luthor.
I liked the old park map, but I think this is 100% better. The rides for the most part actually look like what they are supposed to, Superman for example. At least Skull Mountain has its waterfall. Maybe they plan on working on it. There are no names or labels on it, before they at least had sections and show venues labeled. Is Tango on the map? What is the building near Carousel, is it Houdini?
This may not be directly about the books on the website, but I was searching my local library to see if they had anything on the park, I found a book about zebras. It has a couple of paragraphs about the Six Flags Great Adventure Safari beacause most of the pictures in the book were taken there. The Book is called Zebra by Caroline Arnold, it was published in 1987.
I am glad they are celabrating the 35th anniversary some more. It would be nice if they could open up the Great Lake Grand Stand to sit back and relax while watching the fireworks show.
I would consider it one ride. If Medusa was renamed and theamed different, it would still be the same ride. What I was wondering, on the racing roller coasters like Lightning Racer (Hershey), Batman and Robin:The Chiller, and Rolling Thunder, would it be comsidered two rides because they are on two seperate tracks?
"The Big Wheel, along with the sky ride, log flume, and the flying wave, are the original four major rides still active at the park." Mistake, Flying Wave has been removed, unless they know something we dont.
According to the last Flyin Phil update, the Old country fence is still where it was at fright fest, past the showcase, but that doesn't mean anything. It also looks like part of the fence around Chillers old site is down. I guess they were removing asylum stuff.
Thats only where I was. I did not expect it to turn into a big off topic discussion. As for FlyinPhil, he seems to be over at another Great Adventure fansite more than this one gavd.com. He has over 1,000 more post there. Someove may want to tell him what he does, we dont consider a "restricted area".
Thanks for the advice. Next time Ill know not to even bring someting like that up. I did not think it would be off limits concidering it was right beside an employee parking lot, but rules are rules. Did Six Flags give those rules? Should I take the picture of the bus off?
Yea, first Goodtime Alley game correct (or half correct). It acctually could be the Carousel, dont want any "heavy" people breaking one of those antique horses lol.
Anyway, it could be the Buccaneer. If there is too much weight on one side, it may not operate correctly.
A great park advertising icon, made a long awaited return. More Flags, More Fun. http://www.sixflags.com/greatAdventure/index.aspx Did you know that bus that he got out of on the ads that was in the Boardwalk section for awhile is in storage?
