  1. I'm going to take a stab at this: Guest Relations (the old Main and current location) under Great Lake Grandstand The Shows Department building between Medusa and Northern Star Arena The current location, the former Right Stuff exit and gift shop.
  2. Road Runner. The Office or Just Shoot Me?
  3. LOL Phil. I think the original color could be described as limon? Work on The Big Wheel is great! It's a center piece attaction, and an icon for us older people. It's a gentle ride and it deserves any bit of rehab and paint.
  4. This is a great idea. A Holiday in the Park would be lots of fun. Places to donate toys to needy children could be located through the outer mall. I would love to see the Fantasy Forest opened with the carousel, Houdini and maybe the Big Wheel (brrr!)...decorated with a snowflake light display... and giant wrapped and unwrapped presents could decorate the midways. Musik Express could reopened and rock and upbeat modern Christmas music could play in the cycles. Autobahn could run with the fall of fake snow (though ice would be more fun. ) Skull Mountain could have scenes and themes and music from Rankin & Bass' Rudolph and the Abominable Snowman. BlackBeards could be themed to Kris Kringle's encounters with the Winter Warlock. Buccaneer could be decked out as Santa's Sleigh and The Fantasy Fling might even be themed to a giant dreidel. It would be a good time of year to debut a few more spin rides like Santa's Flying Reindeer and maybe a Polar Express! All the kiddie areas could be opened and all points in between like Boardwalk games and Siberian Tigers! A Christmas movie might play in the motion base theater and The North Pole could be created in the snowflake (Alcatraz) with Santa and his reindeer. I'd watch a Christmas show in Showcase Theater. If the park got a hold of the hayride vehicles, a ride-through Christmas scene and light display may be a big attraction. The park may block off Plaza del Carnaval and The Golden Kingdom, or they could be opened with The Old Country, Lakefront and Wiggles World for Christmas Around the World. Most of the coaster would be closed but The Dark Knight could be opened for Christmas in Gotham City. The two ideas I would love to see return from Holiday in the Parking Lot would be the skaiting rink and the minature trains! I would be happy with the park just being opened, but some ideas like these may make the event more successful.
  5. I suppose it's a trade off. There's not much at Six Flags parks that age can ride. If they name a ride 'Blowout,' I'm so getting the cut.
  6. The shoot-the-chute is another wish adorned in flashing lights that says, "every major coaster park has one for a reason."
  7. Ah, yes. "Every" park has a waveswinger, bumper cars, Musik Express or a scrambler. I can't help but think "why?" I like them all, and I figure I'm not alone. V Hmmmmm
  8. I would take a round or two on the bumper cars and a cycle on the Musik Express once or twice a year. It would make my stay at the park last longer, as would a ride on a waveswinger, Houdini and a scrambler. I miss the days when my friends and I would spend the whole day at the park (and buy 3 meals and souviners, Mr $hapiro.) V
  9. I missed a second shot at trying to get on Ultra Twister before Astroworld closed. I missed LL too. I think I would pick the train. I love train rides and I'm not sure if I ever rode it. Even if I did, I would want to ride it again!
  10. That's a really fun site!
  11. I wish they would have doen that Winfield. Perhaps more people would have enjoyed it. I would have taken Viper over S.U.F. and day of the season!
  12. I was watching these a few weeks ago. They're really great!
  13. where ever Medusa landed. I would have just replaced it with a picture of something better. ...if I thought about that before now
  14. Schaweet. I love the cold. I'm nothing but sicl all the time after getting hit by these 70 degree days! No calendar for me. I didn't want to look at....was it August?
  15. I hope not. The Big Wheel and Carousel need it much, much more. Houdini, Autobahn and Musik Express have to be reopened and staffed. There will be the effect of the stock market and Six Flags' problems to factor in next year. Painting Medusa was silly enough. But whatever Lola wants...
  16. No, there's no confusing Magnum and Steel Force! Your Hurtmeplease train is missing this
  17. I picked Old Country because what's an amusement park without it's bumper cars and round-a-bout flat, but Houdini and Flying Wave came in a close second for me.
  18. Yes, lol. The friend that came with me had a St. Louis season so he would have had to pay the full price. It was nice and free for me.
  19. I can't imagine which parks contributed to this.
  20. I visited the park 9 times this season. 4 were regular visits (Opening Weekend, June, August and Fright Fest) 2 were events (Coasters After Dark and Rise & Scream in July) and three were media-related (Off-season tour, Opening of The Dark Knight Coaster and Kingda Ka's Travel Channel shoot.) All my trips were fun and pleasant and shorter in nature because of the lack of rides. I missed a ride on Buccaneer and Tea Cups because my friends get sick on these rides, Top Spin and Jolly Roger (lol) and Parachutes and Congo Rapids because the lines were too long, or because it was too hot, too windy or too cold . I enjoyed my rides on TDK, El Toro, Nitro, GASM and Batman. Rolling Thunder ran better than it had in years (especially in the back seats!) I rode Medusa and S.U.F more than anytime in the past 5 years (5 times this season) but my opinion of them hasn't changed. I didn't ride RMT or Batman as much as I usually do and I rode Skull Mountain with the lights almost as much as I rode with them off. I only rode BBLTT once this season and I rode Road Runner Railway for the first time since my first ride after it opened. I rode the Sky Ride more than ever (night rides and on both cables) and I rode the Log Flume in the dark for the first time since I was a kid. It really adds to the ride. The Batman crew was the most efficent crew I had encountered this year. I think they were the fastest crew the ride has had in 5 years! The Sky Ride crew was the friendliest. The crew of Jon and Erik at El Toro was the fastest I've ever seen at that ride. The crew on RT stunk-on-ice by mid-season. Kingda Ka and Nitro's crews were good. The crew at Medusa was better than it had been in the last few seasons. I passed on the water park for the 2nd year in a row. It wasn't because they didn't add anything new, but that I had gone to quite a few water parks this year. Plus, I spent money on food in the park! I went through the Safari in my car for the first time in 6 years. It must have been the hottest day of the year and the animals were too exhausted to move! I wanted to come back when it was cooler, but I never made it. I visited the Exploration Station for the first time. Interesting, but not worth a $22 upcharge. The coasters are great, but shows and flat rides round out a visit for me at a park. I saw a preview of the Dolphin show but I never was in The Golden Kingdom around showtime. I had a pleasant trip during FF but if I went their for the attractions, I would have thought the event was poor. It was a fun year, but I'm thinking that the ride removals is starting to wear thin on me to consider a season pass next season.
