I visited the museum today, great job! Brought back a lot of childhood memories and it was really great to see in person.
-
I'm going to guess the shop that used to be Big Wheel Deals.
-
I'll see people who will stay at Splashwater for hours until 8:00, and then ask where the rest of the water rides are.
-
More attention to the Golden Kingdom.
-
Yeah while l love the attention that's being brought to the park's latest attractions it'd be great to see the original structures be treated with the same creativity.
-
And perhaps that would've eliminated the piles of spit that magically appeared at that same brake section...
-
Waited 45 minutes for Total Darkness. Not the longest line but they definitely could have sent people through a little faster.
-
I went the same night, had a very similar experience. I anticipated high crowds and was very shocked to be able to leave early after accomplishing everything I wanted.

SF management has proved over and over nothing is sacred to them. They would have no problem ripping out RMT.
What I am concerned with now is SF may take out RMT, the Fort, and Skyride to retheme the area to better fit with the new Safari tour since their themes clash badly.
That's exactly what I thought. Meanwhile I'm still not sure what the situation is over in the Golden Kingdom...

Since Great Adventure seems to be in the habit of removing all of there great coasters, which coaster would you say is next?
Either Runaway Train or Batman the Ride. It could be a few years but I'll put money down on those.
-
The Dark Knight Coaster would be pretty interesting in reverse.

If we have a larger line the ticket takers/greeters do have to send larger groups through, but if its pretty short they tend to just send single groups out. If you mean stuck behind a large group as in youre always in the back- next time youre in line talk to the ticket taker and ask to be the first for the next group since you always end up being stuck behind a large one. If thats not what you meant then ignore that hahaha.
Yeah you're exactly right. Last night (Sunday) there wasn't a huge line but just out of bad luck I was placed in the back. I think next time I'm there on a quiet night I will take your advice so I can get a "true" experience.
I'm quite shocked about your list. I always found the Asylum was really good and is my favorite, unless they did something different this year making it bad.
My only complaint about Asylum is that its been consistently short staffed. What they had, they got right, and the actors are better than ever this year!
-
I absolutely love Wasteland too, and always have. I definitely don't like it any less this year, but I really enjoy the new ones! My only problem with Wasteland is that I always (yes, always) get stuck behind a large group.
-
This is approximate but its probably:
1. Total Darkness
2. Voodoo Island
3. The Manor
4. Wasteland
5. Asylum
My favorite haunted midways would be the Straw-Man Stalkers and the Bloody Fountain.
-
^I absolutely agree with that.
Also I must say I was vey surprised with the new indoor haunts. They both did things which I'd never seen before! Great job to whoever designed the new Manor and Total Darkness attractions! Straw-man stalkers was also a very pleasant surprise, probably my favorite free attraction in that location.
-
I was at Fright Fest last night - the lines for the trails were pretty long. So far I've only done Wasteland and Asylum but I'm going to wait until I do all of them to gather an opinion.
-
So I'm wondering if this pitch black attraction will actually have no lighting...
-
Its a real shame to see it go - its the end of an era! And while I can't say I didn't see it coming (I'd been hearing this for the past 2 years) I always hoped that it would get a rehab. But like I said, either way I'd be happy and as long as they utilize the space for something good, I don't mind.
-
^Yeah I'm very curious as to how they will be handling the new indoor locations? I think there used to be a small one by Bugs Bunny National Park...
-
Yeah as a matter of fact I'll be going down there to visit my sister in college. It looks like I'll be considering the fast lane passes since I really look forward to riding the coasters.
-
Thanks so much! That's a big help. I imagine its going to be a little crowded considering when I'm going, however they are reducing the park's hours around that time so maybe not.

I'm going to be making a trip down south Labor Day weekend and one of the stops I'll be making is to Kings Dominion. Aside from what I've seen on the park website and Wikipedia, I know basically nothing about the park. My main questions are which rides should I prioritize, and about how big is the park? I plan on getting there early and will have someone relaxing in the water park watching our items, which is how I would handle Dorney. Any other advice will be appreciated! (I'll most likely do a trip report too)

I realize change is sometimes necessary,but I have a few concerns/complaints:
-Do they really need TWO Dumbo rides?
-Couldn't they have kept Snow White's Scary Adventures and have the mine train go over/under/behind it?
-Couldn't they have kept one side of Mr. Toad?If it's not "culturally relevant" then just re-broadcast "The Wind In The Willows" on all those networks Disney owns now and upgrade the ride's scenery. And I call BS like a MF when they say the ride's end isn't family friendly:I first rode it when I was around 10 years old with my father, and we got a good laugh out of the idea of "dying" and "going to hell".
The new mine train ride actually has nothing to do with the removal of Snow White's Scary Adventures. I believe it's supposed to be replaced with a character meet and greet area, which is even worse. And Mr. Toad has been gone for a long time now. I don't think there's any chance of a return to its original state. I rode Disneyland's and I must say, they should have kept the ride. And while the idea of two Dumbo rides does seem a little silly, because of its high appeal to guests a covered queue with a higher capacity ride system (two of them) isn't that bad of a move.
Just a little thought of my own - even though the "New" Fantasyland has now been opened, it is really not finished at all. I came back from a trip a few weeks ago, and it seems like Disney just rushed its opening to get it out to the public. The map shows it covered in trees like a forest. But it was dreadfully hot during the day with little to no shade at times, so I hope they work on the landscaping a little more. It does have potential, but it seemed like a bit of false advertising once I finally got to see it.

I haven't hit the park nearly as many times as I used to, and I'm a little disappointed with myself. I had only a few really good visits to the park including The Foreigner concert and when my own band played at the Festival Stage. I still haven't gotten the chance to see the new Safari ride either. However, Fright Fest is my favorite time of the season and I think I will be returning much more.
Gr.Adv.Debate #22: Does Zumanjaro make your Top 5 list at Great Adventure?

Didn't make my top 5 but I don't have anything against it. Its not one of those rides that I would wait more than a few minutes for and I consider my top 5 to include that. I personally think the ride may have been a little over-hyped but I understand the park has to do what it has to do to get the guests in.
