Not that I was even alive then, but I'd say that 1988 was the lowest year for the park. Then Scream Machine came, and things were high-sailin' for a little while.
The video did say that the StarFlyer would be lighted. I guess some lighting is better than no lightning, like most of our rides... I can't wait to see Fantasy Forest so full of energy!
It's gonna be weird to see how the two twisty-slides get the drop boxes. Weird, but interesting nonetheless! I hope they smoothen out the slides for next year too. They're extremely painful.
^ They actually did add a new glow-in-the-dark sign at the bottom of the drop that says "TURN BACK". I can't help but think "It's a little too late for that" whenever I ride. I think it would be better if they had that during the queue. And the park shut off the queue line soundtrack! I hope that was just temporary and it's back on soon
It would also be really cool if they put lights in the trees like some Cedar Fair parks do for Snoopy's Starlight Spectacular. Then it would truly be a "Fantasy Forest".
It seems like they're turning Best of the West into a more average eatery. There's less "BBQ" and more "stuff that you can get at other restaurants". I liked how Best of the West was one of the only Six Flags restaurants with some heritage.
I'm really happy for the park! Whenever I walk(ed) through Fantasy Forest, I think(thought) about how much wasted space there was. Now, basically all of the space (at least on this side of the park) will be filled and Fantasy Forest will once again be a happenin' section of the park! I just hope all of the rides are lit up like SkyScreamer was described as being. I also hope they add some new whimsical theming and maybe even a custom soundtrack for this area of the park. And I hope they continue to add flats next year, and maybe make a finer distinction between Fantasy Forest and Lakefront.
The SkyScreamer IS a bit disappointing. I'm sure it will be cool anyway, but 150 feet? Even the one going to Fiesta Texas is taller. I think it was because they didn't want to dwarf the Ferris Wheel.
^ The park DOES need a train, though. That's one thing it really lacks.
Of course, it couldn't make all of those stops, but maybe one in Golden Kingdom, one in Fantasy Forest, and one in Movietown / Old Country.
^^ Rolling Dumpster? No, no, no. It's Rotting Lumber.
I think someone should unofficially name the sides. I mean, "Rolling Thunder Left" is so boring. I think the left side should be Lightning, and the right side should be Thunder.
