GAcoaster
From the Albany Times Union: Warehouse burning at Great Escape Structure likely a total loss, chief says By DENNIS YUSKO, Staff writer Last updated: 11:26 a.m., Tuesday, October 28, 2008 QUEENSBURY -- Firefighters are continuing to battle a warehouse fire as of 11 a.m. inside the Great Escape theme park, police said. The structure is an 80- to 100-foot-long, two-story food warehouse made of wood and is located in the center of the amusement park, according to Glens Falls Fire Department Chief Ray Ives. "The building is probably going to be written off totally," Ives said. The warehouse contained coolers, food and paper products, Ives said. Employees at the Six Flags park called in the first report of the blaze at 9:06 a.m., according to the Warren County Sheriff's Department. The facility was not open to the public at the time. The cause of the fire is unknown, but it appears to have started in a storage room of the warehouse, officials said. There is an ambulance parked outside the park but there have been no injuries, Ives said.
