GAcoaster
One thing the park could REALLY use is a good, climate controlled indoor show venue. While Showcase Theater is an OK venue, its location is bad, and it's not a great structure for shows (no fly space). With the old 4-D theater having been gutted, it would be a great choice for converting into a REAL theater. Its location would mean it could easily be used for events year-round since it's so close to the parking lot and front gate, so it could even be used as a leased space in the off-season and make the park additional revenues. SFGAdv10
If we do get one of these I hope it is air conditioned.
RobertDavid
A good theatre is desperately needed at GA. Unfortunately they already have theatres that just sit dormant, I doubt they'll build anymore. I would prefer they just tear down the 4-D theatre. It's an obnoxious building and it was a bad place to build one. Showcase would be a decent location if The Old Country was open. Unfortunately the theatre has no wing or fly space and the tent lets in all the outside noise while the shows are in progress. Right now that might not be a problem because everything around it has been closed, but if the area was open and rides were installed, it makes the theatre too noisy. It's a good location because it is on the edge of the park and guests do not walk behind it. If they're going to build a large buiding like that, it should be on the park's perimiter, and not another big gray warehouse in the middle of the park. Chiller
They need to work on putting a real show and opening the Showcase first. Once the park becomes known for shows again, then they can expand and add a new theatre.
