astroneedle
why buynew bumper cars? what is wrong with the autobahn? Seems like a lot of money to be spent when you already have some in the park.
batmanrobinchiller
Why not? The autobahn is old and runned down. I believe this new set of bumper cars will have state of the art technology bringing the bumper cars experience to a whole new level. 29yrswithaGApass
Unlike a portable bumper cars ride, Autobahn is a permanent structure. The park does not want to reopen an abandoned area while there are still unoccupied ride pads in the open areas. Once these are filled they will concentrate on getting the Old Country reopened. The good news is the park could be looking at once again having two bumper car rides in the near future.
GAcoaster
Having spoken to people in maintenance, the Autobahn would have cost more to re-open than just buy a new set of bumper cars (same with Musik Express), which is why they didn't go with re-opening things over there. Autobahn needed all the cars and the ceiling grids replaced before it was closed...sitting unused for several years didn't help matters. Blame it on the people that let them sit and rot for years.
GAcoaster
The problem was the maintenance BEFORE they were left to sit unused.
