The Master
I remember one year the park had a SEGA preveiw tent set up near RT showing off the new SEGA games for that year like Sonic CD. Problem was people would hog the games for hours so it did not work out too well.
29yrswithaGApass
I remember that temporary games display too. I think it was in the early 90s when Sonic was first introduced and Sega was the sponsor of the Runaway Train.
JetsDevs4Lyf
Interesting. Definately don't remembert these things but hey we have now gone from SEGA to Nintendo. Who'd have thought
The Master
That SEGA stuff at the park was a long time ago. Edited March 10, 2008 by The Master
Up_Up_and_Away
I don't play video games much anymore but the ones I do play are the PC ones. They out-mode the game consoles too fast. Let's stick to the topic of the 2008 map...
JetsDevs4Lyf
I hope we see some progress made on possibly restoring the teepee this year . It's still listed on the map (which there was no reason it wouldn't be anyway) so maybe they will see fit to try to get it opened up again within the next year
Up_Up_and_Away
It's not likely, but we can all hope!
JetsDevs4Lyf
Does anyone else here think the the Eruption ride could be replaced without any major problems for another flat. I understand it's an upcharge attraction but I can count on one hand the number of times I have actually seen people riding it, and with the basketball upcharge right next door it seems tat they make way more money on that than anything else. redsoxfan0810
The erUPtion spot would be great for a 3-4 tower S&S complex, but that's probably nothing but wishful thinking.

While I would love to see another flat ride, I wish they would have left the area in front of the simulator theater empty or at the very least themed to the film being presented inside. Things become such eyesores when they are plopped into place just for convenience. GA did this with Eruption as well as dropping the Pendulum behind the Autobahn. Disney MGM Studios (or now Disney Hollywood Studios) is the worst offender with absolutely killing the whole theme of Hollywood Boulevard and the Chinese Theater by placing the Sorcerer's Hat in front of it. JetsDevs4Lyf
^ Very true as that hat really does not seem to fit it in at the park, although it's been there so long now I really didn't notice last visit. In terms of our simulation theatre I think the front was absolutely the perfect plce to easily retheme the theatre whenever the film was change. While Spongebob may have been slightly tougher to place something representative (although a Giant Pinneapple house would have been cool and also coudl have been used as a kid's attraction at the same time such as the area in the Golden Kingdom), items like Dino Island, and The Right Stuff made very good use of the space. Our new movie going in could have also been themed very well, and Elvira during Fright Fest could have alos had some major decorating done outside especially with Zambora next door. The Master
Before Eruption they used to put a small castle arch thing in front for Elvira during FF. Back in The Right Stuff days the fighter jet used to have a skeleton in the cockpit for FF. I agree about the Sorcerer's Hat at DHS, but at least they took down that wand over Spaceship Earth at EPCOT.
JetsDevs4Lyf
Kind of random but funny. If you look at the map closely the runaway mine train's track actually does not even come close to connecting on the map so it looks like at one point the ride just sends the trains flying . I got a kick out if it.
29yrswithaGApass
It looks like there won't be any poster maps this season. Those were lousy for providing directions but made great souvenirs.
JetsDevs4Lyf
^ That was something I actually noticed right away opening day. As we drove into the park through the parking gate I looked over to my girlfriend with a sad face and said "Oh no I guess there is no novelty map this year" lol
The Master
Makes sense since quite a few rides on it from last year are now gone this year.
CycloneMan
I haven't actually read the new Park Maps, but I know on the Sidekick it says "Jetsons" for where Fly Me To The Moon is. What does it say on the map? -Dainan "Didn't they do something similar with Spongebob in 04?" Rafferty
The Master
I think at first they did not use Spongebob's name in the guide maps. It was something like: join your favorite underwater character in a wacky adventure.
JetsDevs4Lyf
To be honest we grabbed the 2008 map while in the park, but didn't actually use it for more than like 5 minutes just to take a look at it.
