Great Adventurer
Shoot! I was going to say that, but I'd never really seen the side of that boat, so I assumed nothing was on it. I can't believe it.

warnerleroy
does anybody know if the ride was painted in stars and stripes especially for the park and by the park, or if it was just brought in that way?
29yrswithaGApass
Slingshot was a trailer mounted portable ride brought in during 2001 to temporarily operate at the park as a test to see if this type of attraction would be popular with our audience. It proved to be very popular and Eruption was built in 2003. It was not customized for GA in any way.
29yrswithaGApass
QUESTION #53: What was Fireball Express and where in the park was it located?
warnerleroy
I'm guessing it was a food service location and also I think it was in fronteir adventures, it looks like a western style sign is on the right of the girl, barely visible. Daved Thomson
QUESTION #53: What was Fireball Express and where in the park was it located? Fireball Express was (for lack of a better term) a game that was located on Dream Street just at the bottom of the ramp that had led up to the castle in the Garden of Marvels (the ramp was closed off at this end). The building was essentialluy between Mustard's Last Stand and the Carousel (if you were walking from Goodtime Alley toward the Carousel). Fireball Express electronically (I'd imagine it used radar) measured the speed at which some was able to throw a baseball I believe.
29yrswithaGApass
You've got it right Daved! Fireball Express was a game located just outside of the Dream Street Tents on the path which went from the Carousel to the Games Square. It featured two stations that measured how fast a player could throw a baseball using radar guns. The players were given a certificate with their score on it (you can see those stacked on the podium by the two employees). The games was converted several times in the following years. Here the building is as a watergun game.

Great Adventurer
Even though this is late, I recognize those springs, as I saw a similar set of them being used at the Spring Shot at Morey's Piers.
