The names of many rides have changed over the years. Which names were your favorites?

I found myself answering with the name I continue to call the rides to this day.

I'm wondering why did so many people choose Giant Wheel over Big Wheel?

^ Our ferris wheel is too tall to be simply a 'Big Wheel'!

 

I found myself generally choosing themed names (but not intellectual properties) over generic ones and shorter names over longer ones.

"The Giant Wheel" just seems like so many syllables to me

Giant Wheel always sounded more grand to me. Besides, I come from the generation where this is a Big Wheel!

1. Spinmesiter because it fits in with the Old Country theme

2. Stuntman's FreeFall because it fits with the Movie Town name/theme

3. Giant Wheel

4. Movietown Water Effect, same reason as for Stuntman's FreeFall.

5. Six Flags Great Adventure Railroad

6. Moon Flume, the boats remind me a little of a spaceship.

7. Joust A Bout

8. Saw Mill Log Flume

9. Looping Starship

10. Medusa because I liked how it had an original theme (at least before other parks started to use it as well) and I didn't like the change to Bizarro.

11. Phileas Fogg's Balloon Ride

12. Parachuter's Perch

13. Dream Street Dazzler

14. Roaring Rapids

15. Taz's Twister because I liked how it was named after a Looney Tunes character and in it's final spot in the park was right near Bugs Bunny Land

16. El Sombrero, I liked the new theming with the giant sombrero in the middle of the ride.

17. Centrifuge G-Force

18. Fantasy Fling, it seemed like a good name at the time for being part of Fantasy Forest.

I Didn't know if I liked Bizarro or Medusa better

I like the unique names over stock names (Spinmeister over Enterprise, Saw Mill Log Flume over Flume)

I think the park missed a great opportunity when they renamed the Enterprise as Spinmeister. The ride needed a paint job and it would have been so much nicer if they had repainted the ride green to match the theme.
