GAcoaster
From PennLive.com: Rider climbs from Ferris wheel June 28, 2008 20:49PM A Ferris wheel rider in Hersheypark Saturday evening didn't like the conversation he was having with his female companion, so he got off the ride -- while it was moving. The man, who was not identified, climbed out of the ride's car and climbed to its roof, where he sat crossed-legged for about 25 minutes as Derry Township. police and his family tried to talk him down, Hersheypark spokesman Garrett Gallia said. When the man stepped out of his car, the ride operator used the emergency shut-off button to stop the ride, Gallia said. For about 25 minutes, everyone on the ride had to wait until the man agreed to get down, Gallia said. He was about 30 feet from the ground. No injuries were reported. The man was taken into custody by police, who would not say if he will be charged. The female companion was not charged, Gallia said. Obviously this man had some real problems. I hope the trend of people doing stupid things on and around rides ends with this...
darkridedan
I know it sounds dark, but it makes me wonder what I will see on my next park visit. I missed this one by one day. EDIT: Oh again, it happened on a Saturday. When all the bottom-scrapers are at parks... Edited June 30, 2008 by darkridedan
JetsDevs4Lyf
Sounds to me like this one goes deeper than just a bad conversation because it has to take a lot to get off a ride in the middle of it and actually leave the cabin like that. I can't even imagine doing that on my worst day!
