GAcoaster Posted January 11, 2023 Report Share Posted January 11, 2023 The rumor floating around right now is Universal is in the process of re-acquiring Port Aventura. Port Aventura was built in 1995 by Tussauds with Busch Entertainment, and in 1998 Tussauds sold to Universal and rebranded as "Universal's Port Aventura". It was then sold by Universal in 2004 (while Universal was down on its luck and selling off assets). Now it looks like Universal is possibly buying it back and looking to really make it Universal Studios Europe and build things like Super Nintendo World and other Universal attractions to really upgrade it. Universal is on a building/buying spree right now. Comcast sees the potential of big growth in the theme park business and they are making a lot of money with their existing parks.
