  1. I keep hearing the Great Arena is being demolished and it's going there, but we'll see soon enough.
  2. I don't know that has been established. There may be changes coming to the entrance, not necessarily a coaster. That hasn't been established either. A new attraction generally means removal of other attractions...
  3. Could go anywhere in the park-- Old Country, Great Arena, Rolling Thunder-- any flat piece of ground with trenches for the tunnels (which GA won't do) and concrete footings 5 feet tall to make up the difference in height. Although if they build on the Arena site they could do some grading...
  4. Apparently COTAland may have cancelled their Vekoma Tilt Coaster, so it could be this: https://rcdb.com/19998.htm
  5. If this is a new record, then they would not give it up, just one up themselves and phase out a costly and problematic ride. It could be that if Intamin really is selling them a modified version of the ride they designed for BGW that the idea is basically it will be a replacement for KK in the long term.
  6. Could have been something for a park in China that had to cancel. Anything is possible...
  7. It does sound like they snapped up a cancelled coaster from another park, but it could be from anywhere...
  8. I'd guess yes, since they have an issue with neighbor complaints. I get the steel mill theme, but the hellscape background when it's been so hot and smoky this summer is kind of offputting...
  9. As expected Dorney announced Iron Menace, a new 152' tall B&M Dive Coaster for 2024. The coaster will have 4 inversions and is just 2,200 feet long: https://www.dorneypark.com/new-in-2024
  10. I'd hope they'll hold off on buying more of those kid coasters until they actually get one open and find out if it works or not before committing to more of them. The manufacturer doesn't have a stellar track record. Six Flags was burned by Skyline already with the one they built for SFDK. The one the built for SeaWorld San Diego is being removed because it had problems. Supposedly they did the lift for the new Zambezi Zinger which apparently is having issues as well.
  11. Well, SFOG is announcing on August 19th (National Roller Coaster Day) so we can guess it's a coaster:
  12. The goal of the park has always been to draw people out to the edges (past games, food, merchandise) so they spend more money. The games area was designed specifically to draw people up past all the games, tempting them to spend money.
  13. I'll believe it when I see it. Six Flags doesn't have the kind of cash on hand for something that will "blow CP out of the water" at the moment...
  14. I think it's a great solution for the hydraulic launch issues, but I still feel like it's so much wasted energy not having it do anything but run into the brakes at the end. Make it a full coaster with more elements. Create more blocks for more trains in operation.
  15. IF-- and its a BIG if-- they are adding a ride or multiple rides, expect an equal or greater number to be removed from the park. Wit the way things are going in the industry even big players like Universal and Disney are doing the same thing because they don't want to increase spending on staffing or maintenance for additional rides. I think we will see a new ride, hopefully a fairly sizable one after years of not getting anything. I full expect along with the Parachuter's Perch being removed, the Twister will as well since it is the last of its kind and always seems to have issues. I wouldn't be surprised to see Cyborg gone as well for the same reason, and any other "orphan" rides could also be on the chopping block.
  16. Interesting to see SFMM is actually adding two licensed haunts this year... I wonder if this is just MM or will it be chain wide or in select parks?
  17. I hadn't thought about it until someone pointed it out the other day, but water rides in general take more staff than just about any ride. The position at the top of the drop is something that may no longer be fully OSHA compliant, but is grandfathered in supposedly. Apparently those are some of the reasons why flumes seem to be an endangered species. That and the lack of restraints on flumes and rapids rides make them more of a guest liability with people doing stupid things.
  18. Apparently there is now a big sign in front of the Log Flume saying it's getting a "makeover" for the 50th anniversary and that's why it's closed until 2024.
  19. Just like the park at the Meadowlands-- price is out of line with what is being offered, but I guess people will pay or they'll end up out of business...
  20. Or maybe the Vekoma Mad House concept they have in one of the parks...
  21. Wow-- Log Flume closed. New attraction in HH not finished. Parachutes SBNO. It's really a BAD year for Great Adventure. Hopefully they turn things around next season...
  22. This is really sad that none of the "new for 2023" looks like it will open before August...
  23. One week to get a replacement support! B&M really are the best at what they do.
