Great Spotlight as always! Quick questions: Do you know why the tower was partially erected and then taken down? Just curious. Thanks! Pete

Photo Trip Report: September 8th, 2012

Hopefully they plan to paint the water tower soon.... Pete -
Maybe I'm late to this realization but are the supports on King Cobra painted to resemble bamboo branches? Pete

Love the rainbow logo's on Deja Vu! That logo was my first introduction to GA as a kid. I even had a t-shirt with the logo on it. Pete

Mitch Hawker's Wooden Coaster Poll 2011 Results
CoasterPete replied to GAcoaster's topic in Industry News
Good to see El Toro on top. It's been a couple seasons since I've been to the park....feeling the itch to get back. I'm surprise and not so surprised to see Boulder Dash up so high. It's a great ride and I'm glad to see it still getting some recognition. Pete -
Thanks for sharing! They did a great job with the backstage walkway with all things considered. Doesn't really look bad at all. Pete

Looks like a young(er) Larry Cochran with a mustache. Pete

Very cool video. Weird seeing woods next to the first turn into the lift hill. Pete

If you look closely through Superman's lift hill supports, you can see Eruption. It's still there. Pete

I always thought that Evolutions old spot would be a great location for a drop tower. Lots of open space over there for a 2 or 3 tower combo. Pete

Brings back some memories. My mom, sister and I used to use this entrance all the time. It was so convenient! And with the Fast Lane distribution when it was open, we always grabbed our free Fast Lane ticket times and heading into the park. Thanks for posting this one. It actually stirs some more memories that ride spotlights. Pete

"Hey Mom, get that cigarette out of my face!" - Not really funny, but it was the first thing I noticed. Pete

Holiday Celebrations at our local parks
CoasterPete replied to 29yrswithaGApass's topic in Trip Planning
We're heading out to Hershey the weekend before Christmas. I love being at the park with the cold weather and all of the lights. My wife and I don't mind that no coasters are open. Pete -
Dorney Selling Several Kiddie Rides
CoasterPete replied to 29yrswithaGApass's topic in Industry News
By removing these few kiddie rides along with Lazer's old spot, this area is primed for new development.... Pete -
Those renderings look awesome and seem to fit with the parks slyle a lot. One of these summers I will get up there. Peter

^I could've sworn I used to look at myself in the mirror at the restrooms across from the Dark Knight. Then again, it has been over a year since I've been to the park. That's gonna change on Sunday! Peter

Great Spotlight! I had the opportunity to participate in a backstage guided tour at Coaster Celebration and chose the RT/GASM tour instead of the popular Medusa tour. A couple of quick questions that I didn't see addressed that perhaps you could answer. My apologies if they were answered in the spotlight and I missed them.... 1. Do you know if the ride was constructed with the lumber pre-painted or was it painted after assembly? 2. Do you know why the train was reduced from 5 cars to 4? The spotlight just mentions that it was reduced to four. Was it due to a weight issue? Again, great spotlight! Loved all of the different pictures! Pete

I got ya. See I didn't realize that the park had a GM AND Park President. I thought that they were the same person. Then eliminating the GM position while keeping the park president position doesn't sound too crazy. Peter

I'm a guy in my middle 20s and didn't read too many comics growing up. With that said, I had never heard of Bizarro or the Green Lantern until they started popping up at Six Flags parks. Just adding my 2 cents in to the equation. Super psyched for this coaster regardless of the theme though. Pete

Weber and Reid-Anderson... Your Opinion
CoasterPete replied to warnerleroy's topic in The Park Today
I voted unsure for both because although we have the new coaster and the possibility of other additions, we may be giving up more than it's worth in layoffs and the uncertainty with the tigers. Pete -
How would you redesign the Safari?
CoasterPete replied to 29yrswithaGApass's topic in History of the Safari
Yoshi summed up my feelings exactly. I enjoy getting to go at my own pace through the safari. A few years ago, my then fiance at the time, and I went to Animal Kingdom and were not impressed with Killimanjaro Safari because we have been through the Wild Safari multiple times. We came off the ride saying to ourselves that we see more at Six Flags than we see there. I'm sure we would have been more impressed if we had never been to the Wild Safari. Pete -
I read this earlier this morning on Screamscape and this is just WILD! Definitely not the way I thought Al Weber and the new team would take the company. Eliminating the GM position? I wonder how that will work? If there is no GM position, I'm sure there is no AGM position. Will the GM now be considered the Director of Ops or if he happens to have a background in rides or entertainment, will he be the director of that particular department and play role of GM without the title? It's beginning to look like Mark Kane was lucky to get the boot. Just throwing out some retorical questions because it seems like this is going to devastate the parks on personal level. Pete

Great American Scream Machine Closed
CoasterPete replied to 29yrswithaGApass's topic in The Park Today
It's crazy just seeing the loop toppled over like that. Thanks for the update. Pete -
Wow, the recent June 30th update with the layout got past me. Thanks for posting that. I've always been curious as to where exactly it traveled. I knew the area of the park but didn't realize it went that far back. Good stuff as always. Thanks! Pete
