  1. This is a pretty common practice. The ride obviously doesn't exist yet, so a lot of initial Six Flags promotional material consists of photoshopped pictures of other rides. Ex 1) Green Lantern used a photoshopped Riddler's Revenge picture. Ex 2) Wicked Cyclone used a photoshopped picture of (I think) Iron Rattler That being said, this is a very well done photoshop job. Very professional.
  2. Yup! I just noticed today that they fixed the bubbles that were rusted. Mirror selfie?
  3. Who can guess what this is a picture of?
  4. Their headquarters is down the road from my house! I always used to pass it thinking "hm, I've never actually seen them out constructing anything.."
  5. There are Equal Access Passes that let you skip the lines. They're a bit harder to get.
  6. It should really be understood that it is not the park's choice to not ask for verification. It's actually illegal for them to ask about someone's disability. I don't know the laws fully, but they really have to tiptoe around disabled issues to avoid huge lawsuits. In most cases, they just have to give you the pass for claiming you have some disability that warrants the pass.
  7. I believe that tree has been like that for a few months. I remember noticing it before.
  8. ^ Your album isn't public
  9. Thanks! It was a lot of fun! I'm glad we were able to bring people together and give them such an amazing VIP experience at the park!
  10. I think these pictures will show how it went! http://www.greatadventurehistory.com/Forums/index.php?showtopic=4602
  11. The annual GADV Online Day event, hosted by Great Adventure Online and Coaster Crew, was held on Saturday, Aug 22nd. Firstly, I'd like to thank all the Six Flags staff who helped make the event happen. Jason, Dory, John Slawson, Sam, Mark, Amy & the Nitro crew, and many more all deserve a round of applause! We had first-in-line for Batman Backwards, catered lunch, reserved seating for Brad Ross, Exclusive Ride Time on Nitro, and an outstanding tour. Our lead tour guide, John Slawson, completely blew us out of the water with the tour. Normally, they cap tours at 20-25 people each and visit ~2-3 rides per tour in roughly an hour and a half. We had a little over 40 people on one tour that lasted over 3 and a half hours, and we visited.... NITRO, BATMAN, HOUDINI, SUPERMAN, GREEN LANTERN, KINGDA KA/ZUMANJARO, the BABOONS, and BIZARRO! That's right! ALL FIVE B&M coasters, 2 Intamins, a Vekoma, and a mammal! Pictures! Below are just a few. Here's the entire album: https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.10154317782349460.1073741834.44341119459 We had a check-in table outside security. Around 10am, we were escorted through our own metal detector and into the park through a side gate through Catering Grove. Starting the day with a tour briefing in the Xploratorium. There's some historical items in there! The Dead Man's Party stage starting to pop-up Nitro tour time! Please secure all loose articles! Inside Superman's maintenance building! We went into Kingda Ka's computer/electrical room, behind the hydraulic motor room. There's a broken sensor preventing the fire from getting the "OK" signal to fire Wait, did the stage fall over? Prizes!! Everyone who attended got something! Thanks to the park for providing the Holiday in the Park ornaments and Exit Passes! Our reserved seating for Brad Ross' Unbelievable magic show! The lights go up so far!! They're not skimping out on lights here! Soon..... (like really soon....) monday That's all! Thanks to everyone who attended, planned, and worked the event!
  12. The park has motorized boats on the lake. How do you think they zoom out to the fireworks barges? I'm fairly certain that's not a real law. People use motorized vessels (jet skis) in plenty of lakes in NJ. There's even an NJ non-tidal boat license for motorized boats!
  13. So that Christmas Tree on the sand sculpture is new, right? I thought it stood out to me!
  14. ^Yeah, I assumed she had to be there for at least a few weeks
  15. Yeah, that guy and trick are both different from when I saw it in July. There was a special guest when I saw it, though.
  16. People on FB were saying it was open this morning.
  17. I hate basketballs. There was a guy in line behind me for Zumanjaro on Sunday. He hit me twice with the basketball, then he jumped over the queue railing to go get it when it flew into the rocks.
  18. Hopefully we'll see you next year! As for everyone attending.... We are very close to confirming what we're touring. Bring your walking shoes.
  19. ^ I guess they e-stopped it, maybe? E-stopping is probably a bit more intense than the normal lift-stop that they use in most cases.
  20. Going back to the 2nd quarter financial release for perspective, Six Flags had a EDITDA revenue of $406 million between 6/30/14-6/30/15. They spent $91 million on new capital (aka new attractions) between 1/1/15-6/30/15. http://investors.sixflags.com/phoenix.zhtml?c=61629&p=irol-newsArticle&ID=1949162
  21. It's also tougher to staff the park in the off-season when most of their workforce is back in school.
  22. ^ Coaster manufacturers set temperature restrictions for every ride. There's obviously other factors than that, but they do have to abide by the manufacturer's safety specifications.
  23. Coaster Crew has extended registration until tomorrow at 5pm!
