  1. Do I want to pay extra? No. Do I want SF to charge for the trails? Yes. When I do decide to go through a trail, I wouldn't want it to be a 3-5 hour line because it's free. They already have 1-2 hour lines. I'd rather pay a few bucks to save those 2-4 hours. However, the best part is that I avoid all of that by buying the Scare Pass as soon as it's available. I think it was like $30 before FF started. It lets you skip the line for all FF attractions, every visit.
  2. On the Giga discussion.. I would argue that Carowinds got a Giga not for the coaster, but for the marketing value. They're trying to turn Carowinds from a local park into a destination amusement park. They're expensive and extremely repetitive when you already have a B&M hyper (and imagine us having 6 B&Ms?). Great Adventure already has plenty of their marketing tricks. World's tallest coaster, tallest drop tower, fastest coaster in North America, World's Largest Theme Park, World's Best Wooden Coaster, Top Steel Coaster, etc. Giga is a marketing tool. Fury 325 was constantly trending on Facebook (and not just amongst enthusiasts).
  3. Even Cedar Point is more complex than just a circle. Maybe a few circles connected together. Busch Gardens is very literally, one circle. Cedar Point: Busch Gardens VA:
  4. I don't think Busch Gardens is a good example for comparing park layouts. They have a rare case where it's literally a giant circle.
  5. Geographically that could make sense, but those are the 2 best themed sections of the park, with actual distinct themes. I wouldn't want to lose that. #PlazaDelTigres
  6. ^Luckily, I watched the person in front of me do that, so I knew to avoid that. lol To anyone over probably 5'8"-ish, do watch out. The missing 8th row still has a car so it hangs lower than the track.
  7. Thanks! I forgot to post this close-up of the bar.
  8. Got out of work early today, so I met some people at the park. It was a pretty small crowd, with ~5 minute waits for everything Rides: Batman Backwards x1 (back row - awesome!) Panda Express x1 (yes, it's a ride) Skyway x1 El Diablo x1 Twister x1 Zumanjaro x1 Big Wheel x1 Lakefront A bunch of temporary fences have been lined up on the BBLTT side of Fort Independence. It really seems like as soon as the July 4th weekend festivities are done, they're going to wrap the fence around the stadium and begin deconstruction. There were still pieces of the Live n' Local stage laying on the stage floor, as if it were being disassembled. When I swung by to take pictures, there happened to be 2 workers unloading their pickup truck onto the stage. They had these stage boxes as seen in the picture, and what looked to be speakers. They may be setting up for the july 4th fireworks shows. As for the Grandstand, I did notice that the visible food stand has been completely cleared out. Previously, it has contained a bunch of junk, notably a giant surge protector on the counter and a soda fountain. It's all been removed from that room. Macho Nacho You can definitely see the bar taking shape now, and they even have a soda fountain already! Misc -Noticed the new Six Flags logo prominently displayed in the M-Porium. -The Main Street Market sells selfie-sticks!! ...well, selfie-friends...
  9. I rode it today. It's pretty awesome! I actually like it better than facing forwards, except for one part where it hurt my neck on the second twist. Besides that, it was better.
  10. ^ I think they usually say that for everything they trademark. There's always a long list of things that they can use it on.
  11. Six Flags registered the trademark "Total Mayhem" a few days ago. Could that be the name of our 2016 attraction? http://www.trademarkia.com/total-mayhem-86669651.html
  12. Batman Backwards opened today to the public! I wonder what happened to that rumored season pass preview
  13. Wow, they really love to hide that kind of stuff.
  14. As far as I know, the RT maintenance building is also used as the maintenance building for Toro, Runaway Mine Train, and other nearby rides. It's still used. I assume they walled up the garage doors for insulation since they obviously don't need them anymore.
  15. Oops, I thought I read that you posted the 5th. (There's Batman Backwards ERT that morning with a can of coke) Anyway, July 7th is also media day. What email do you see it in? I don't see it in the June 24-July 8 newsletter.
  16. That makes no sense. They only let a certain number of people go through the trail at a time. That's the bottleneck. Making it free isn't going to change that. It's just going to make the line longer.
  17. There's a simple supply and demand issue in play with the trails. The lines are always PACKED, so it's hard to justify it needing to be free. They have more people paying for the trails than they can handle.
  18. Note that's part of the Coca Cola July 4th celebration, so you need to bring a can of coke to participate. Ignore this
  19. I think plans have changed since this presentation. Not saying it's definitely not in Movie Town, but at least it's not the original plan.
  20. ^^ The backwards train has been sitting on the maintenance track for a few days.
  21. You were saying? I've heard rumors that S&S is also working on a dual loading station for the Free-Spin and it was rumored to go to Great Adventure. That would hopefully help with capacity as long as it doesn't have mechanical issues like Ka.
  22. I haven't heard anything about a preview event outside of this topic, so I wouldn't plan on it.
  23. I know that they even advertised BOTH layouts in their IAAPA trade show booth. I think they had brochures with both layouts on it too. I believe TPR posted pictures of them, but I couldn't find them last time I searched. They are an older revision of the layout though, where the lift hill actually isn't vertical. I don't know if I've seen an updated version of the 10-inversion layout, but that is definitely not it. The 10-inversion layout has another "lap" towards the lift hill
  24. Tell me about it.. Also, it looks like the source was.... http://www.greatadventurehistory.com/Forums/index.php?showtopic=4231&p=64337 (Look like 6 posts up)
