  1. It looks like it could be in Hurricane Harbor.
  2. It looks like a walkway to me, very similar to the bridge in the back of Best of the West. But I can't figure out where a walkway would look like this.
  3. They repositioned them to frame the doorway so I doubt they're on the way out. I'm still confused by this whole concept, though. Is it a scientific sort of thing, or what? Also Railer, is is confirmed that the same company that did TDK's preshow is building this? Lastly, the finances of this whole thing doesn't make sense. They're spending thousands of dollars to add an attraction that will bring nobody to the park whatsoever--because they're not promoting it. It will certainly improve the park experience, but why not use this money to fix up Skull Mountain's theming, or staff the bumper cars for a year? Or, to borrow from their logic as of late, why not use it to build something new that they can and will market? Don't get me wrong, I commend them for adding another attraction, and I'm excited to experience it, but I'm confused about it on many levels.
  4. Yeah, I didn't get the email.
  5. Is this still in the park? It's not the woman's head on top of Tango, is it?
  6. I believe it's usually The Boss at SFStL.
  7. I've got to say, as much as I like the idea of the Code of Conduct, I haven't seen it enforced at all. On Saturday the majority of cars had windows open, and I even saw one guy throw food out of his at the ostrich. Had he closed his window any slower I think it would have pecked his daughter right in the face. Last year I also saw similar things all of the time, and only once did a warden do anything about it. Too bad.
  8. Don't fret; it's nothing to do with individual employees, I just feel like on a large (i.e. managerial) level the park was not as prepared as they should have been. All the rides employees I dealt with were friendly, and I understand that on an individual level you guys each work hard and diligently.
  9. Also that guy Alex who was with Mr. Six all day was great - super enthusiastic. Does anybody know the first song they played in the dance contest?
  10. It seems like either there's a serious lack of preparedness and professionalism at the park or, more likely, corporate isn't giving them enough budget to have an effective training period. I completely understand that there are hiccups, and I forgive the park for most of them, but I think there were a few too many yesterday to go completely unnoticed. On a nicer note, everything about my Safari experience was wonderful, especially seeing the lion cubs, so kudos to them on that. EDIT: Did anyone notice the decals on the turnstiles? I thought those were pretty cool.
  11. I don't know if anybody else saw yesterday, but there are some things going on. Looking from the fence in front of the ride and from RMT didn't reveal much, but looking from the top of Toro I could see some activity, namely a ditch being dug in the middle of the helix after the MCBR. There was one rectangular one that, I believe, had some metal rods in it, as if the foundation for some sort of structure is to be poured there, and then next to it was a more freeform ditch that looked more like a pond. This is more or less in line with what those blueprints showed, but I wonder just what they'll become.
  12. I see exactly what you mean, but what I don't get is this: the park has been open for 30+ years, and this management team has been in charge for 4, with many of them having been around far longer. How do they not know certain things about running a park by now? Why did the attendant working Skull Mountain not know how to use the Q-bot? Why did the employees in Johnny Rockets not know how to use their cash registers? Why was the locker attendant outside El Toro texting on his cell phone? How are things like this not part of training??? And from a stockholder's perspective, why did RT have 5 attendants on its platform, B:TR 6, and RMT 8? I understand how it might take time to figure out staffing levels for new rides and attractions, but these rides have been there for so long and things like this should be obvious by now. There were certain other things that were also absurd given the 5 months they've had since closing for 2008. Every credit card machine I tried to use was down except for one. Every vending machine I tried to use was turned off, again except for one. Every cell phone charging kiosk I tried didn't work, except for one, and when I used it, it ended up not even charging my phone. The ticket counting machine in Studio 28 didn't work. The employees running games didn't know of the season pass deals even though there were banners posted on their booths. The glass on Temple of the Tiger was disgracefully dirty and covered with graffiti etched in. The Big Wheel was unable to open in the morning (before the wind came). The Mr. Six Dance Contest was a mess in the middle of the path rather than in the stage area where it was supposed to happen. El Toro was running only one train. Good for them for getting the new M&M's store ready and all, but how can they overlook basic things like this? That's what I don't get; where's the sense of the park management knowing what they're doing? Most of them have been at this for decades, so how could they let yesterday end up being such a horrible mess?
  13. Yesterday was the epitome of "a Six Flags day." There were 5 employees in the M&M store making sure everything ran smoothly, but only one dude working the Teacups, and m platform was misaligned so the ride was more like the Jackhammer-cups. There were four employees in the new Johnny Rockets, but none of them knew how to work the cash register. There were 8 employees on the RMT platform, but none of them did anything about the camera that the guy in front of me was blatantly holding out to film the ride. There was a woman in BoTW who scowled at me when I asked for an extra piece of tomato on my $9 hamburger. There was a supervisor at Skull Mountain who was still showing the attendant how to use the Q-bot. And, in what I thought to be the most insulting thing of all, there were three people standing at the entrance of Nitro at 4:00 to tell me that it was closed for the day, "because of wind." "That means it will reopen later if the wind dies down then?" I asked. One attendant responded, "That's what everyone keeps saying! But no, it is down for the entire day . . . because of wind." As I shook my head and walked away, he called out, "Have a Six Flags day!"
  14. They need to train the security guards better. Not once did I see a guard bust someone for cutting last year, even when it happened right under their nose. I'm not saying that the guards don't work hard, but the park should do a better job of training and empowering them, and shouldn't have them all just stand at the entrance to rides. I was in line for TDK last year when a kid cut me and bunch of other people. I said something, and he threatened me, which, to be honest, was a pretty scary and awful experience. Meanwhile, there were three security guards about 15 feet away from us, but they were all standing at the entrance talking, with not one looking at the line. That's just stupid and frustrating. EDIT: I forgot to get to my main point: If they have better training, some of the budget can be saved because they can afford to hire fewer guards. As with many things in life, it's about quality, not quantity. In relation to Tango, again, I have no problem with them not running it, but keeping it sitting in full view of the guests is just foolish and a step back to the era of Premier's mismanagement and tarnishing the Six Flags brand.

    Chaos

TDK is considered Moderate. . . . And I always liked Chaos rides.
  16. ^ Really good point. While I understand the idea of not upping staffing until peak season, if there's anything the old management showed us it's that you can't do that with rides. The Old Country and Houdini closures work because guests don't see those rides, and the water ride closures work because there's a rationale for them not being open early and late in the season: it's not yet hot out. The same would be the case for Tango if it were removed, or secluded on a path that could be closed off. But given that it is in such a prominent and easily visible place, having Tango or something like it SBNO, even for just part of the season, is an invitation for guests to feel ill will toward the park and a very bad decision. In my mind, that goes for any ride, no matter how low ridership is, and whether or not it's listed on the map.
  17. It seems like a good idea to me. Although it is funny to see "Bizarro" right next to "Frontier Adventures" on the website.
  18. The thing on bizarroishere.com sounds like it's going to be some sort of photo contest for people who visit the park on opening day. Exciting!
  19. Lit Cigarettes? Although I figure they'd probably just say "Smoking" if that were the case. . . .
  20. Cyber Cafe? The drain in the bottom right looks like one on Dream Street. Could potentially also be Ted's Cheesesteak.
  21. Aquatopia Cafe in Hurricane Harbor
