  1. Exactly, it already stands out by being a 250 foot tall tower. It is not necessary to paint it obnoxious colors on top of that to get people to see it. The parachutes should be brightly colored, not the pole. People should notice the parachutes, not the support tower holding them up.
  2. God, please do not let Six Flags get their hands on Busch Gardens. They would destroy those parks.
  3. I don't understand why they do that. They are massive metal towers. They already stand out. They should be doing the opposite, trying to camaflauge them a little so they are not so overpowering.
  4. Seeing the updated spotlight of Garden of Marvels reminds me of what I dislike so much about Six Flags. Changes made to parks throughout the years should be improvements. However, the majority of changes to Great Adventure have not been improvements, but have destroyed what was once a beautiful, magical place. Looking at pictures of the area with Garden of Marvels and now with DDD it is obvious this is not an improvement. GOM enhanced the area of the park, was unique and magical, and enhanced the entire park experience for the whole family. This is the problem with Six Flags as a whole; A family-friendly attraction was replaced with an ugly eyesore that only teens and thrillseekers can enjoy. The atmosphere of that area of the park has been destroyed. Right next to the Carousel is not a place for such an attraction. The whimsical atmosphere of the Yum Yum Palace and Carousel has been destroyed by an ugly metal tower and gray warehouse next to it. Obviousely they could not keep the Garden of Marvels, but they should have replaced it with something that fits the atmosphere of the area and can be enjoyed by the entire family.
  5. ^^ Exactly. I think the ride rotation program is a bad idea, but I hope they use it to ship Sky Screamer somewhere else.
  6. You'll notice they state that " the locations will be designed to fit the theme of their surroundings". This is the difference between all the other parks and Six Flags. Even though you can find outside products at other parks, you are still immersed in a theme and an atmosphere you cannot experience at a local shopping center. Every day Six Flags parks look more and more like shopping centers and less like theme parks. People do not want to drive 100 miles and pay 100 dollars to go to a shopping center. You can have outside products and corporate sponsorship without destroying the atmosphere and theming of the park. Six Flags has never understood this concept.
  7. I miss those old cars. I think they looked much better than the triangular-shaped ones we have now. I hated that "Delta Airlines" paint job though. I miss a lot of things in that picture; the old Sky Ride cars, the Teepee, the TREES.
  8. Not usually with Six Flags. Very rarely do they change anything for the better.
  9. Notice how they put the coaster in the trees, removing only the ones necessary. There were trees inside the track. They did not plow down every tree in sight and place it on a cement slab.
  10. Exactly. You do not need to ride Sky Screamer to see how cheap and tacky it is. It just adds to the "tacky carnival" atmosphere Six Flags has made the park over the years. You pull into the parking lot and it looks like a giant parking lot carnival, tacky and cheap. All the colors clash with each other, there's no coherent theming, and the forrest has been destroyed and turned ito a parking lot with rides. Simple things can be done at no extra cost, like giving the rides names and colors that make sense. You have to name them and paint them anyway, it doesn't cost more to do it with some class, instead of random names and colors that clash. I think it would have been a much better idea to put in a new Flying Wave than that hideous eyesore they replaced it with. If it was a great ride it might be worth it, but it's not. Flying wave is much better because of the "wave" movement, instead of just the flat circular movement of Sky Screamer. The fact that it goes up in the air does not change the ride, it's the same movent at the top that it is at the bottom, boring. And the whole thing is an ugly eyesore, as apposed to the fanciful look of Flying Wave that wasn't a giant metal tower overpowering everything around it. They continue to destroy the atmosphere in an attempt to make the park more "exciting", which only makes it ugly and unpleasant and a turn-off to most people. You can have exciting thrill rides without making the whole park unpleasant and tacky.
  11. The whole park now looks like a parking lot carnival. It's VERY sad.
  12. Sky Screamer looks like a tacky, cheap carnival ride. Couldn't they do something with the tower to make it look decent, instead of looking like something they plan to take down and send to another state fair next week?
  13. Enough already with the outside product marketing! If people want slurpees they can go to 7-Eleven. People don't travel all the way to a theme park and fork out a fortune to get the same crap they can get around the corner from their house. They have to stop making the parks nothing more than shopping centers. The idea of going to a theme park is to get away from all the everyday garbage and immerse yourself in another world. All these constant reminders of the outside world destroys the whole purpose. If people want Slurpees, Johnny Rockets, and Lowes they can get those a lot closer to home for a lot less money. Six Flags is steering itself right back into bankruptcy by destroying the atmosephere and quality of the parks in an attempt to make a quick buck. As always it will work in the short term and then destroy them in the end. They just never learn.
  14. Re-forrest the park and remove all the giant, ugly, metal structures ( Dark Knight, Right Stuff building, Sky Coaster, all the things that make GA look like an Industrial Park instead of an Enchanted Forrest)
  15. Blame it on the people that let them sit and rot for years.
  16. I couldn't agree more. The parks can not survive on teenage boys alone, and that is the only demographic Six Flags aknowledges. When the park opened it was a magical, family place. Now it is a loud, obnoxious, unattractive, teen hangout.
  17. Why is it always a choice between cheap and crappy or nothing at all? This is what Great Adventure has become, people actually EXPECT cheap and crappy, and are HAPPY with that. It's a sad statement about the park.
  18. Yes they did. But then they improved upon it. Let's not go backwards.
  19. I think a train would fit the atmosphere of Great Adventure better than a monorail.
  20. I don't like the flat screen monitors used for the menu board. It's out of place in an old west restaurant and spends too much time away from the menu showing other things.
  21. I think the Flying Wave pad is a really bad location for a tall tower like that. I would much rather see another Flying Wave placed there. Flying Wave is also more fun. There is nothing "thrilling" about SkyScreamer. Since it doesn't tilt like Flying Wave, it is just a boring swing that goes around in a circle, and that big metal tower sticking up out of that spot is going to be ugly as sin.
