  1. You guys have to keep in mind, even if the park is allowed to open on X date, it could be pushed back due to hiring, training etc. training only started right before the closure so there are a ton of employees that still have steps to do before being sent out in the park to work.

Lots of behind the scenes things have to be done in order to be open and functioning :)

So I've read stories about people being ride ops and having fun, and I would like to be one at GAdv. I'll pay attention and be responsible since I love roller coasters and flat rides, and I have autism, which means repetition is easy for me. My gimmick is going to be giving DC Comics factoids before sending people off on the rides with DC themes. Safety is my top priority.

However, due to the whole coronavirus thing, I'm not so sure when the park will open for this year or if they will hire me. I hope this will blow over and they'll hire me.

Park opening is TBD. Everything you see or read is just each individuals opinion. If you haven’t applied yet feel free to apply and they will reach out as soon as they can. :)

They typically start in and work their way out. So, first they ask employees, maybe close friends/family of employees, then reach out to ACE and other friends of the park. If they need more people than that, they'll start to share the invite to a wider audience. I know other SF parks will post the casting invite to their Facebook, but I've never seen Great Adventure do that. You mostly have to know someone or be in a club that gets the invite.

I've attended several shoots for Zumanjaro, Holiday in the Park, and El Diablo (and have been invited to almost all since then). For Zumanjaro, only employees could ride due to not having state approval at that time. A bunch of ACE members rode Kingda Ka during the shoot (myself included).

Basically what Matt said. It starts internally and goes from there. Majority of the people you see in the videos are employees or employees families. I’ve done/been in  Zumanjaro, skull mountain vr, joker, cyborg, and wonderman. Majority of it all being employees with the occasional outside casted people from a casting agency.

  4. Yeah, they announced the closing on FB and Twitter about 15-30 minutes beforehand yesterday.

Also, are you sure it's a season pass? Last time I heard, employees don't get a free season pass until they've been at the park for 10 years. Most employees just get day tickets and a bring-a-friend pass that the employee must be with you to use. So unless the friend won it or got it through non-customary measures, it seems a little fishy to me.

It's now a lower number of years. I forget exactly but maybe 5? They also give the option of a season pass, or 3 extra tickets.

These shows sometimes take over a year from filming to airing.

I didn't watch the episode, but I see in your photos that El Diablo isn't even constructed yet in the aerial shots. At least those aerial shots are from very early 2015 or before. Those could be the shots provided by the park from when Zumanjaro opened, though.

I think they might be. Someone told me I was on the show, but I never filmed anything for them so I'm guessing they are using six flags/the parks footage taken from the helicopter and whatnot.
