I think that in 2015 they will add a few flat rides in the area Rolling Thunder used to be in. We will be getting a wing rider by where the chiller was. Although this isn't very likely, but I said this earlier, I hope that in the future (maybe 2016) they add a wooden coaster. Probably something smaller like Rolling Thunder. Although of course, I wouldn't mind getting a wooden coaster like Goliath at SFGAm.

Kingda Ka was closed today because they were replacing a part, not because of the new ride.

I keep forgetting that the real reason I think i'm gonna miss it is because it was the coaster that influenced me to try the big coasters. On my 5th grade trip to Great Adventure, I went on it not knowing anything about it, but I went on anyway. I found it really fun and before you know it I wanted to go back and try the big coasters. I loved them and since then I got season passes to six flags and try to go as much as I can.

That was well said. I do hope in the nearby future a new wooden coaster is put in. And it may sound funny, but I would like the wooden coaster to have similar statistics to Rolling Thunder. (speed, height,) Although of course I would love seeing another great woodie like el toro, but I just think every park needs a moderate sized wooden coaster, whether it is new or old.

Do you know why dispatch times are slow? Is there a reason?

Rolling Thunder had a long line today, probably about an hour, I guess everyone wants to get on it before it closes. Also, not sure where else to say this, but Kingda Ka is closed for the day.

Hopefully it is up before rolling thunder closes, or else that area of the park will be a ghost town.

I would be really mad if they didn't. Not only are they getting rid of one, so they need to make up for it by getting a new one, but the last new one was in 2011. Back earlier this year, I was hoping this year was the year for a new one, but as time went on it became more unlikely. Next year will be the year for a coaster.

I don't see them getting rid of Runaway Mine Train soon. It was the first coaster built and it isn't very rough, it is in good condition for its age.

I was wondering the same thing about the African theme. It makes no sense. But I think at least a few flats should go where rt was to fill in some space. A new coaster would go where the chiller was.

Rumors already started before rolling thunder left that a new coaster would come in 2015. It says it would be where the chiller was.

As cool as the drop tower may be for some people, I would much rather have rolling thunder. Let's hope that, as sixflagsdude101 said, that wing rider or some type of cool coaster takes its place.

I hope your right about that, although right now the rumors insist that a new coaster will go where the chiller was, guess we'll have to wait and see.

They will probably keep it open so people can use the path to get to Bizarro, at least that's what I do. I go to El Toro/RT and then take the path and go on Bizarro.

In the article it says that it's popularity was decreasing, and of course they needed a path for the drop tower. I think it had high maintenance costs too, but are those the real reasons? Who knows.

This will be 2 years in a row I do not particularly agree with what they have got. Yes, SORA is a fun experience, but I much rather go at my own pace in my car, and where the A/C is. I doubt I will be going on the new drop tower, it isn't a type of ride I like. I know they have their reasons for getting rid of rolling thunder, but usually you would get rid of a coaster and put one in, not get rid of what is technically 2 coasters for a drop tower. I also wish that they would have said this earlier to have more time to ride it. If I knew for sure earlier this year it was closing, I would make sure to go on it whenever I went.

And you know what that means? LINES. BIG LINES. People from all over will come to Great Adventure to ride it, and obviously it will make everything else more crowded. I just think that every park needs a classic woodie. And now we don't.

I honestgly think this is a really stupid idea. How can you get rid of a coaster for a drop tower? it doesn't work. It doesn't. I am very upset.

Is the announcement at 6am or 8 am? I thought 6 but six flags just posted 8.

I'll probably wait til around 1230 and if it isn't leaked, ill go to ed and wake up around 550, not like they will actually announce it at 6.

Yeah that was my guess, I hope it doesn't leak at 3 am or something, I wanna be there when the announcement is made.

Yeah, the drop tower will probably be the worst addition ever. And Rolling Thunder doesn't race anymore anyway, so getting rid of one side isn't a big deal.
