  1. They do it to make you walk past the games and stores to temp to you spend more money. I remember in 2006 they were originally going to keep the bridge between Toro and Bizarro closed permanently but changed their minds after many complaints. But in all honesty if someone is going to want to play a game they'll walk over to play it/ or shop. I wish they'd open up dream street, re-connect the two Golden Kingdoms and leave the Old country path open all the time (forgot if they had it open all this season or not). Someone also mentioned connecting Nitro's exit to the stunt arena but I don't think itts necessary because that is all backstage maintenance areas. I think a smoother traffic flow would have minimal effect on sales. The closed Golden Kingdom path still makes me cringe, SUCH a beautiful themed section not being used, it breaks my heart.
  2. I would like to see more Bring a Friend Free coupons or 14.99$ but i know that it doesn't make them money but in a way even though they don't get it through admission those people will still buy food, games, shop etc.
  3. I would LOVE to see those vest restraints on Ka, but the ride is so expensive to maintain that doing this is just not their priority. I would like to see them make the ride smoother before they worry about the restraints. I hear Top Thrill Dragster is much smoother then Kingda Ka. I wonder if its the way the trains are designed that has something to do with the friction and speed on the track. I wouldn't see it happening unless riders constantly complained about the restraints. (Not sure if they do). I'm sure they take care of the trains very well but would anyone know if there's a reason why the ride is a rough? I remember it was rough since it opened.
  4. Very interesting! Did not know that.
  5. Since SFNE is removing their Splash Water Falls to make room for The Joker I wonder if they plan on relocating it to another park or are they scrapping it? I've heard mixed reviews about it but our park could definitely benefit having another water ride in the theme park. They could put it behind Autobahn and use the old building as a queue. The only issue is that some trees would need to be removed but it would only utilize a tiny bit of the picnic grove and round out the section. Put in a Endeaver and Tilt a whilr and you have a revamped new section brought to life that would market to the families. Just a possibility and idea for down the road.
  6. One thing I do have to say is that with all these recent additions since 2011 we have not lost any rides which is such a huge blessing compared to 2008 when they went throwing out rides left and right. I think imho if they didn't try and spend so much effort into fixing chiller, we might still have some of those rides lost. Also, expanding and adding rides will continue as long as attendance goes up then so will our ride count. I think it will be a while before we run out of room. As far as available room goes, Movie town has free falls old spot, the empty space between DK and observatory, as well as some space next to backlot food court that could fit something. Then we have Old country with autobahn and pendulums spot, spinmiesters and musik express lot (depending how big JLBFM is) would be perfect for some flats. We also have the empty simulator building, behind twister, Rolling thunders spot and Former balin's jungleland. Believe it or not also the land behind looney tunes seaport could fit a small gci or maybe even a launced coaster.
  7. Zamperla has a new version of the ride out and they just installed one at SFOT. It looks awesome.
  8. With the new ride coming next year, does anyone think we might see a new flat ride between JLBFM and TDK? I think a wave swinger or enterprise, hell even a tilt a whirl would compliment the area tremendously.
  9. I love this site, in fact I remember when everyone used to be over at gadvsource.com. This is a great site that covers pretty much everything since the park opened. So happy to see what it has become over these years.
  10. I'm so happy that we are finally getting a dark ride as well as something new in Movietown. The ride will fit perfectly in that spot (size wise). I also hope they at least add a flat ride in front of the observatory, its the perfect size for a ride pad. Should be interesting to see what they will do with Old country as well as Movietown in general. I can definitely see a flat package in 2018 that will bring Old Country back to life.
  11. I really don't mind the DC themed rides, I just wish that they would keep them all together in a DC Universe type section. As mentioned before In the future I wouldn't be surprised to see a DC kids themed area next to BBNP like SFOG is opening this year. Regardless, I can't wait to ride The Joker and check out how different the Lake Front will be.
  12. My money is on Twister, if it is a ride. Other Six Flags parks and Dorney removed their Huss top spins. The ride is in its final years. It could also very well be Autobahn which hasn't been open in years and we already have a new bumper cars. Autobahn opened in 1994.
  13. I understand that 15,000 trees is a lot, but that is really only like 1 or 2 % of the entire Pine Barrons. Now when they want to build a new Gas Station or fast food resturant then its absolutely no problem cutting down trees and clearing the land to build stuff on the road. The main road that Six Flags is on has doubled in developement compared to 30 years ago. The environmentalists are going to drag this until Six Flags gives up. I really wish that they would allow just this one project. This could also benefit the town in so many ways not just the park.
  14. I loved the Great Wolf Lodge In Mt. Pocono. They had such an awesome selection of slides for a indoor water park. Plus, they have a small bowling alley and a whole bunch of activities for families with children. This would be nothing but a huge benefit for the park and Jackson. Now my question would be would six flags operate their own or have a outside company like Great Wolf run it. I could see them running their own hotel simply for keeping their own profits. I think now with the park being open until the end of the year really opens up doors, plus the indoor water park would make the hotel a tourist attraction of its own in the winter when the park is closed as a weekend get away.
  15. If the park were to add a family coaster, I'd like to see something like Pony Express at KBF or Pandemonium. Roller Coasters that introduce a unique experience rather then the typical standard coaster. Better yet, a traditional family style Wooden Coaster to fill in the void lost from RT.
  16. That looks awesome, I would like to see a Splash down flume and a twist and splash like Tsunami Soakers that have been installed at other parks. Two water rides for a park our size isn't enough. I miss standing on the MTWE bridge on those hot summer days. Those were good times.
  17. Now with Fort Independence gone, would there be any way they could build an Pool In the Stunt Arena and have a Diving Show? Just an idea. Diving shows are always popular and a hit. We have now 4 Major show venues Northern Star Arena, Seafari Discoveries (good for marine animal shows), Show case and Movietown Stunt Arena. 3 well written shows would be great for the park, considering the one by Bizarro is primarily used for Concerts. The small venues could be used too but I would like to see the Large ones utilized first.
  18. I definitely agree with you on the geography part, going over free falls old spot behind showcase and back around. Almost like a launched steel version of Twisted Colossus. Batman vs. Superman in Movie town sounds just too perfect!! btw does that movie come out 2016 or 2017?
  19. I agree, this is unique and different giving our line up variety.
  20. The reason why were not getting monster coasters is because that is what led the company into bankruptcy. A ride like Nitro would probably take 2+ years to pay off after paying labor, utilitys, general maintenance, property taxes. Running a theme is not cheap and the current management now is spending just enough to have something to market that wont take 3 years to pay off but yet will make the gp happy. Corporate has been trying to give each park a new addition every season and they know the GP will eat this up weather its 120 ft or 220 ft its a new concept to the east coast and people are gonna come and ride it. I saw people on face book posting about it who are gp and there excited and anxious to try it. Don't get me wrong I wish we got the larger version too but we just gotta deal with it. If we the enthusiasts ran the park we'd be filing chapter 11 after 2 seasons for over building. Hell I probably would add a giga here, launched wing rider there, war on lines 2.0 everywhere. lol I totally get where every ones coming from but we need to look outside the box and maybe one season they'll splurge here and there. I will say though that MM and GrAm got 2 coasters in 3 years so lets hope the pendulum swings this way and 2018 will be a treat. It is what it is on the bright side the park is at least adding things we been lacking like flats, the drop tower, the brad ross show, and Holiday in the park. Just my
  21. And Loony Tune Seaport/ Adventure Seaport could use some TLC.
  22. I see a either flats or Justice League dark ride in 2017, If a dueler is planned for Old Country then I definitely can see a flat package in Movie town for 2017 as an Appetizer before the main course in 2018 (the coaster). If we get a flat package id like a giant Frisbee, tilt a whirl and flying eagles or wave swinger and if we can get 4, a new style enterprise=)! (in Spin Meisters old pad.)A disko would better suite the boadwalk imo. Also, I think the dark ride in simulator building can wait because the boardwalk already gets heavy foot traffic compared to movie town/Old country.
