  1. I was there as well. I came at around 3:30 and despite the rain it was still very crowded. I waited 2 hours 30 minutes for Kingda Ka, 30 minutes for El Toro, and 15 for Nitro. Also there was some night-time ERT event that I couldn't attend because you needed some yellow wristband that none of the employees knew how to get. It kinda pissed me off but whatever. It was a so-so visit altogether. Definitely not the most crowded day I've seen all year

  2. I really think this poll is irrelevant. Beginning to think results are bought out rather than actually voted because it's the same winners or same top 5 every single year. You can count on MF or Superman: The Ride being #1 every year, El Toro being close but never number 1, and either CP or Europa Park being #1 park. I wish Mitch Hawker still did his poll, it was far superior and was based on what qualified enthusiasts think

  3. Little off-topic, but related: I've always wondered why the Ka animation had a yellow train. Was one of our trains supposed to be yellow?

I'm not sure exactly. What ever happened to Ka's 4th train anyway? Do they keep it for spare parts, and what color is it? KK's blocking allows for 1 more train if they use both stations but maybe since they don't use both anymore they can only run 3

  4. Enthusiasts really need to understand that this is unfortunately how Six Flags operates now. Small additions to all parks. I think this method will work fine for a few years, but soon they really need to start splurging on parks again. I'm talking additions like Banshee, Fury325, Valravn, etc.

You gotta remember though... The only reason CF is able to purchase these enormous coasters is because the majority of the budget goes to one park for the coaster while the rest of it goes to the other parks for tiny additions or perhaps even [nearly] nothing at all. At least with SF's strategy ever park gets something. It's debatable which strategy is better and it's up to you to decide which works more

  5. Nitro was very original at the time, and when you think about it it still technically is unique because the next nearest B&M hyper (I said B&M specifically because Skyrush is a whole 'nother monster altogether) is Apollo's Chariot I believe, which is 5 hours or so away. El Toro is of course unique, but remember that there are a few of the Prefabs overseas. Kingda Ka... yeah, it's extremely similar to TTD, and that's it. Those are the only 2 rides in that category, so it's not really that bad. Plus, they're 9 hours apart. With GL the second half of the layout is far different to Rougarou's, with Rougarou having the more intense and compact second half (NOT a good thing with standup trains) and GL having the more spread out version. Scream and Bizarro are at the opposite ends of the country, plus it's not really too similar to TDK... more elements, different layout, though I see what you're saying. Most B&M layouts/elements are very similar.

Even if Gadv got something unique for 2017, I really think some other park would get something similar and it would no longer be that unique.

  6.

I get SF is trying to save money, but what was the last custom-coaster they built (that wasn't something like Total Mayhem) or an RMC transformation? I'm talking a coaster like Bizzaro or Nitro that has a drop and loops and all that stuff. I honestly don't see them investing the time or money into a dueler for any year. With how SF operates, they'll probably just throw some flats in OC and call it a day (which is why I'm done purchasing season passes).

I think the term you're looking for is a "traditional coaster"

  7. I'm extremely happy with the announcement time. I don't want to be sneaking on my phone during class to look at the announcements, then be two hours late posting them on my Instagram to be bombarded with comments saying "late". Just saying, works really well for people like me.

I couldn't agree with you more (*cough cough CP announcing Valravn at 9AM on a WEEKDAY *)
