  1. I'm guessing a 10 inversion S&S Free Fly by the Lakefront. I simply don't see them not seeing how important capacity is in this instance.

Also, how did you get in that picture, Matt? Did you attend the commercial shoot for b-roll footage? If so, how? Because I really want to be in one of those as I've heard you can get so many rides in it's ridiculous. People were getting 12+ rides at Twisted Colossus' commercial shoot!

  2. ^That's strange. It was open when I went on Friday.

Speaking of HH, I don't know much about waterpark operations so I ask why do the lifeguards periodically have to evacuate the wavepool? It was annoying having to get out every so often, but I'm sure there's a good reason behind it

  3. ^^^Yeah, that's definitely a plus. Low Capacity + Initial popularity = Long as hell lines, which mean I can get more rides on the big 3! (Nitro, El Toro, & Kingda Ka)

And I agree with Railer. The very near future is going to be very good, and I do believe something will eventually go into Old Country, because it's unlikely that they'll just leave that part of the park dead like that.

  4. But then again ANY ride is a passing fad after a while...

Of course, there are some exceptions...

Anyway, a large complaint about the wingriders (especially Gatekeeper) is that they're "forceless" (which is really ignorant by the way) and not exciting and very tame. This isn't really B&M's fault because the heartline is so exaggerated by being away from the track that you can only do so much with them. Honestly, I don't think a wingrider would be too good a fit for us. We already have 5 B&M's and it's time to vary our lineup a little. S&S comes knocking at the door to change things up a little and everyone slams the door on them (not saying it's the best fit for the park though).

By the way, as of now there are 2 "dead" areas of the park, being the Lakefront and Old Country. As per the "no dead zones" philosophy, expect a coaster in both areas in the near future. Obviously the Lakefront will be resurrected this year, but all you guys complaining about the lack of traditional coasters lately should wait and see what's eventually going in Old Country.

  5. I once saw 50-100 people walk up into KK's station, all with the Equal Access Passes. It was so bad that they had to load every other train with them, which annihilated capacity. I highly doubt every one of those people were truly disabled, and it gives you a look at how much the system is being abused unfortunately. I know Disney had issues with this too, so they tweaked the system somewhat to make it more difficult to exploit the system

  6. Guys, the 10 inversion model is 220 FEET.

EDIT: I didn't read the above post. My bad! Seriously though, that is MASSIVE. I'm finding it difficult to believe that this thing would eclipse El Toro. Though, looking at the layout it looks like BTR with more of the same. Drops the same size, it's basically just a longer layout.

  7. I'm hearing it might be a Free Spin that is 160ft. That's taller than Bizarro, Superman, and Green Lantern and would be the 4th tallest coaster in the park.

160 feet?! My god that's enormous for a free spin. That's actually pretty impressive, I can't lie. Hearing all this talk about manipulating the spinning makes me pretty curious to try one :D

  8. All you do is go to GR and ask for it. By law they can't question your disabilities, they just issue the pass.

You take it to the ride greeter who gives you your return time based on the current wait and you come back and ride.

Unfortunately many people are abusing it because of this. A lot of people who are healthy get these and use them to their advantage. It's sad for the people who have to wait, and the people who are actually qualified to receive one

  9. A little unrelated, but if Nitro's drop was like 10 degrees steeper it would be perfect. It's 66 or so degrees, vs around 75 for the newer gen B&M hyper coasters like Behemoth and Intimidator. I've done it so much that it only catches me off guard in the back row. Other than that, it's a fantastic ride. I do wonder what Intamin could have done with the same circumstances though...

This brings back memories of the Kingda Ka and El Toro announcements for me when I was in high school. I remember the night before ET I was up late refreshing the forums and SF site constantly before I was forced to go to bed. I woke up and got a very quick glimpse of ET before I had to go to school and then had to wait all day before actually seeing the ride. This was before smart phones and all the new fancy ways of getting info were available so it made for a really long day.

Wow, the wait must have been agonizing! I remember a couple months ago I watched the Mako announcement in class lol

That real 4D Batman Track? Does anyone know where that Coaster Crazy forum's is based? Like it's home park? I've been trying to find a forum that is nearby RMC's plant, that may get pics like that sometimes. I just don't have time to go dig now, i really gotta' get to sleep lol.

It doesn't have a homepark, it's just a central sort of website. I know driving by Clermont's plant and snapping pictures of B&M track was and still is popular, so driving by RMC's fabrication plant and doing the same will probably become commonplace soon.

Oh and by the way, is the announcement really at 7AM on Sept 3rd? If so that is some really inconvenient timing for me, as I'll probably be on my way to school at that time. Maybe I'll catch up in homeroom or something but I think the newsletter will be released before that hopefully
