  1. I’ve been able to use my 2 meals and snack whenever I wanted through the app during HITP. Sometimes I’ve even used both my meals at the same time.
  2. I was lucky enough to get a group of visits in at GAdv this weekend after my plans to visit Friday were cancelled because of the snow. However, walking in the park Saturday made it seem like they didn't make too much progress. I almost felt like I should've brought ice skates with me! I was just happy to be at the park! Not only was this weekend amazing for the surprise opening of Cyborg, but I also hit my 50th overall visit to the park this season today (12/20)! Considering all of the hardships this year has brought for all of us, and some personal ones too, I'm so thankful that I could go and enjoy the park as frequently as I do! I got to be on the 2 very first public cycles of Cyborg this year on Saturday, and unfortunately both ended in being stuck on the ride for about 10 minutes each time. A lot of people on the ground looked terrified for my friends and I, but we actually had a blast up there! Against our better judgement, we decided to try riding it one more time about an hour after the second time being stuck and were able to get a full, normal ride. Even on the cycles where we got stuck, we noticed that Cyborg's new motor made the ride run smoother than before and it almost felt like we were getting more flips and unique cycles. A lot of the community members rip on it, but I'm glad it was able to open! I rode another time today, this time another full cycle without any stoppage. Overall, very light crowds this weekend. I guess we can thank icy conditions and projected rain that never came for that. Some rides couldn't handle the cold yesterday, but today was a lot better with more rides being able to open and stay consistently operational for most of the day. I got a lot of cool opportunities between lights-on rides for Skull Mountain, a trimless ride on Nitro, the first public rides of the season for Cyborg and completely pitch-black rides on Dark Knight (no effects were on whatsoever). This is definitely not the last time I'll be braving the cold to go enjoy the rides. It will be interesting to see how many more visits I can get and what my ride and food totals come out to (call me crazy, but yes I'm keeping track )! I've attached some of my best pictures which showcased the snowy conditions at the park. My ride totals across the two visits: Justice League 7x, Skull Mountain 6x, Nitro 4x, Cyborg 4x, Dark Knight 3x, Wonder Woman 2x, Joker 1x, Harley Quinn 1x, Sky Way 1x
  3. Absolutely! Glad I could use this assignment for something beyond a grade.
  4. Hey everyone! This last semester I took an Electronic Media Production class at my University, and our final assignment was to make a video project about any topic we chose. Of course it seemed like Great Adventure would be a perfect topic for me and something that would be really easy and fun to talk about. We were limited to about 2 minutes, but after this assignment I feel like I could make a whole series! Covid has impacted so much, and it was certainly interesting to do so many of my college classes online. I decided a nice tie-in to make the assignment topical was to discuss how GAdv was handling safety protocols. I decided to call the short "Do the Six at Great Adventure". The goal of the production was to tell a story and use different shot-placement and interview techniques. I hope you all enjoy it, and I'll update everyone when I have a grade back for it! 1870614436_DoTheSixatGreatAdventure(COMM324FinalProd.).mp4
  5. Yep! I’m pretty sure Right Stuff is on HBO Max, but it’s funny to have to get up mid movie and change the tape. With Right Stuff and Unforgiven, I have a little GA-inspired collection going!
  6. So sad to hear. Crazy, I just watched my Right Stuff VHS copy the other day!
  7. Thanks for the birthday wishes all! Definitely a weird time to turn 21, but still had a blast!
  8. Too bad I missed you! I was there pretty much the whole day, got on a ton of rides even with a giant group! 6 rides on Nitro for me
  9. High of 72 degrees today for me at school in Delaware. It doesn't feel like we're four days away from Holiday in the Park, but I'm still really excited to go opening day!
  10. I don't have downloadable versions, but the songs are the theme from Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves in the Dream Street station and the theme from A Million Ways to Die in the West in the Frontier Adventures station. Here's the YouTube links: Frontier Adventures: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Nzzj2_7qMsY Dream Street: https://youtu.be/b5Edkb2Qo9c
  11. Being almost entirely remote for school has made spending an entire week at home really easy, so I decided to do that and cap the week with plenty of visits to Great Adventure. This was the last weekend I went before I head back to school, and they were some interesting visits! Friday (10/16) was definitely the better of the two this weekend. Days with a rain chance are always great times to visit, and by the time the park opened it was barely sprinkling. Crowds were so low and an employee told us that there were under 1,000 people in the park! Everything was a walk on, awesome for my 35th overall visit this year (not bad in a pandemic-shortened season so far)! I rode Bizarro, Skull Mountain,Sky Way and Green Lantern once each, JL and WW twice each, Nitro 4 times and El Toro 7 times to get me to my 60th Toro ride of the season! Yesterday (10/18) was definitely the lesser of the two visits, but still not bad! I got to the park around 4:00, but crowds were terrible. That isn't too unexpected for Halloween season, yet I still find it hard to believe that they limited overall capacity. Most rides had at least a 45min-1hr wait, but the Sky Way was a walk-on at the Frontier Adventures side. I was able to do that and used 2 of my 3 skip the lines for JL and Nitro. I would've used the El Toro one, but its Flash Pass line was a half hour! It's the crowd levels like these that make me even more excited for HitP when the park generally calms down and lines are much shorter. Not a bad duo of visits when I consider that I got to 36 total visits on the season and up to 60 Toro Rides, 15 JL's and 25 Nitro's. All of that is pretty easy when you live so close to the park! I'm going to try my luck at SFA for the first time next weekend when I visit a friend who lives nearby. Two days probably isn't necessary in a park that size, but at the very least I'll get 3 Skip the Line passes, 2 meals and a snack with my DE membership!
  12. I was there later from about 4-7:30. It got really crowded, I'm glad I had skip the lines!
  13. I wouldn’t be shocked if they do for low crowds. I’m here now, WW is a walk on! Temp is actually really comfortable. Got a zen ride on Nitro, too
  14. The park will open today despite the rain! It was too bad that they had to close last Monday, but you have to figure they’ll take their chances on a generally busier day like Friday’s are.
  15. This is great news! HITP is one of my favorite times to visit the park
  16. We have our day, everyone! Can’t wait to be back
  17. Not a typical trip report, but this past week I was able to go to Prospertown with a friend and fish on his canoe. It was nice to get some shots of Nitro and check in on Jersey Devil. Hopefully they’ll resume construction soon! No fish for me, but my friend was able to catch 2 sunnies and 4 crappies.
  18. Today the NJ stay-at-home orders have been lifted and outdoor gatherings of up to 100 people are allowed. This is a great step https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.nj.com/coronavirus/2020/06/nj-coronavirus-stay-at-home-order-lifted-by-murphy-as-state-reopening-moves-forward.html%3foutputType=amp
  19. I had a great time today at the Safari! It was nice to see the animals and get some unique shots of the coasters. I’m also glad to see that GASM is still getting some love in a way
  20. This is a great surprise! It’ll probably be the last time at least for a long while to get the classic drive-thru experience in the safari.
  21. My 1993 map is one of my favorites in my collection because it has Fantasy Fair on it! Once I get my apartment at school it’s going to hang there in my room with my 1997 map
  22. The storm is getting worse near me. I'm worried the power might go and I still have classes to worry about today
  23. It looks like the last thread for this topic must’ve been deleted, so we’ll start a new one here. Feel free to discuss your thoughts for what you think Great Adventure could be getting next year and beyond
