I know Marissa! I graduated HS with her

Thanks all. Unfortunately I got waitlisted for a permit and I'm pretty sure I won't get a parking pass before the semester's over. I'll keep all of this in mind if I make the trip over the summer!

Hi everyone. Hopefully if all goes right, I'll get to have a car on campus for my last month of the semester. If this works out for me, I'll have a chance to get to Six Flags America. It's only 1hr45mins from my school, a lot nicer a driver compared to the 3 hours it would take from home. Anyone have experience at this park? I've never been, and it will be the first Six Flags outside of GAdv that I visit (I've been told so far to lower my expectations... I guess those of us so close to GAdv are lucky, I'm going with an open mind and just happy to get on some new rides!). Any info on the rides, crowds, or general trip planning would be great. Might be a day trip if I can go, but I'll have a few opportunities to go back before my finals start up. Thanks

I’ll be there hopefully for the whole day!

The park uses Weather Bug to make all of their weather-related decisions. So far the Weather Bug app is saying partly cloudy and 62 degrees. If that holds then we have perfect weather, but I feel like we can't be sure until Saturday actually gets here. I'll be there either way

Looks great! I wish the park maps would go back to this size/layout. Makes them a lot easier to carry.
-
I think they could get away with giving it a generic fun house theme for the regular season. Something like the one at Jenkinson’s Boardwalk.

This was a fun Spotlight to work on! The Musik Express was one of the few things I wasn't too scared to ride back when I was little and this was still at the park. Deja Vu is a great reminder of the ride and I hope we can get another true Musik Express model in the future!

This goes beyond rides, but I miss the thematic music (film scores in Movie Town, pirate-esque songs in the Lakefront). It really did a lot to bring the rides together rather than have them feel like they were randomly placed.

New for 2019 - Wonder Woman Lasso of Truth! OPENS JUNE 7TH
Tbone112499 replied to 29yrswithaGApass's topic in The Park Today
If they do turn it into a queue house for WW, maybe they could scatter the dining tables for Metro Grill on the side of the restaurant near the bathrooms and across the way near the observatory. There were only 2-3 tables there before, but maybe they space the other tables there to free up space for a WW queue. -
I'm glad that the Justice League area is being called DC Universe. It would really irk me and my OCD if the park called it Metropolis and Superman were clear on the other side of the park

Good catch with Rockwall and Safari Tours. I didn’t even notice. I didn’t see Rockwall get used much last year so that’s not too surprising, but I’m hoping that not having Safari Tours on the map was a typo.

Even in Delaware the weather is great! High of 67 degrees and sunny. Definitely feels more like a Great Adventure day than an exam day

We have our first video look-in on WW construction! -

From the park’s mobile app. “Catch a glimpse of 2019’s new construction.” Maybe we won’t see WW open with the park on April 6? -
Thanks everyone! My friend and his family are planning a lot of the logistics (lodging, travel, etc.). I think our plan is to spend 2 full days at CP, sandwiched between 2 separate days at Hershey on the way there and back. Not sure yet if we're staying at Breakers, but thanks again for all the park-navigating tips and giving me an idea for the layout and where to go first

Hey all. This summer I'll be visiting Cedar Point for the first time. My friend and I are going to Hershey (I've been there many times) before making the drive to Sandusky. This will be both my friend and I's first ever trip to CP and I was wondering if anyone had any good tips for navigating the park and any must-do's. Thanks in advance

I'm not sure if this has been posted anywhere in the forums before, but the set of this music video might look familiar

Hurricane Harbor's Calypso Springs- Now Open!
Tbone112499 replied to 29yrswithaGApass's topic in History of the Waterpark
Calypso Springs will definitely improve capacity. Even though it’s replacing King Cobra, it definitely allows for more people than a single slide would. I think it’s a necessary addition, but let’s hope for a slide/water coaster in the next few years. The trend seems to be an addition every 2-4 years. Maybe a new slide by 2023? -
Mariano Rivera unanimously voted into the HOF. A news report I heard says more people have walked on the moon than have scored off of him in the post-season. Go Yanks!

Best Dark Rides You Have Experienced
Tbone112499 replied to TylerRRC1972's topic in Great Adventure Debates
I wish we could’ve gotten the same at GAdv, especially since they were both installed in the same year. It seems like the MM version not only had the bigger budget, but a little bit more care and attention to detail, too. -
You Know What Really Grinds My Gears?
Tbone112499 replied to MarioSonic94's topic in General Discussions
I agree, and I always wonder about the riots that would’ve happened if the Eagles LOST last year. But my story about the Chicago guy doesn’t top my experience when the Devils beat the Flyers in OT at a game I saw at Wells Fargo Center. Flyers fans blocked me and my friends in Devils gear from using the bathrooms. I think people have a tough time remembering that in the end it’s just a game. -
You Know What Really Grinds My Gears?
Tbone112499 replied to MarioSonic94's topic in General Discussions
A very sore Chicago Blackhawks fan and his disrespectful son getting mad at my friends and I for cheering on the Devils at last night’s game. Then he instigates and gets in our faces when Chicago put up a few. Glad the Devs could pull away with the win. To those two: Newark airport is right down the road, enjoy the flight back to Chicago. The superloop was a great in between ride for the park, but I think I'd rather see something like a Zamperla Endeavor or Chance Freestyle fill its place in the lineup.
