  1. Very cool spotlight. This was a family favorite! The colorful design brings back memories. I remember drawlings of Elvis, some guy with an afro and other singers painted on the wall. The park is NOT the same without this ride (in operation.)
  2. Oh wow, I was way off. I have to exclude myself from this one. I worked there.
  3. Wasn't it near the Woodland Gardens, before the Great Lake Grand Stand was built? I can't think of a name tho.
  4. I don't know how to do it but I think the words come in handy!
  5. (Real) Juice. Orange Julius or fruit sippers (from the old days at the park)?
  6. A Perfect Storm shoot-the-chute dark ride? I will LMAO if they get Pirates's Flight...or Jolly Roger.
  7. Grr. I was going to say that good things are worth waiting for. Joust-a-Bout was that good tho. But it is a small ride. I'm glad it wasn't Roaring Rapids! Imagine riding that in March.
  8. The trailer even looks horrible. Changes on the Boardwalk are usually for the worst. Sarjevo Bobsled>GASM, Joust-a-Bout>Sky Pilot>Top-taking-up-too-much-space-and-doesn't-Spin, Parachutes operating at least half the chutes>Parachutes operating one or two chutes, Parachuters Perch name>Edwards Air Force Base Parachute Training Center Jump Tower, Mach I>Dino Island>Sponge Bob>>>>>>>>>>>>>>Fly Me to the Moon, Scrambler and Space Shuttle>nothing, and the A Lot>S.U.F. It's the only section I avoid, cringe while I'm walking through and have no fond memories whatsoever.
  9. Great America needs another attraction like Camden needs another murder. I'm happy that Shapiro LOVES Great America, but it's getting old. Hopefully they just get the parade. If Shapiro removes 25 rides from SFGAm, it willl be a sister park with SFGAdv again.
  10. Since panorama means a wide view, I would think that the cars did spin to give a 360 degree view, much like the panorama or stitch feature on digital cameras. It looks like the people in the red gondola on the left are spinning.

    Scrambler

Yay! This ride was always one of my favorites. Thanks for bringing back great memories! I was excited when the park moved the scrambler parts to the El Sombrero pad. It meant that I could have the chance to operate another classic from my childhood. I had asked friends in the construction department to rename the ride the Salsa Mixer but alas, they were to call it El Sombrero. Then as the season approached, operations redesigned the ride sections and gave the Frontier Adventures flats to 220 and Medusa to 230 because of the closure of Viper. Then the scrambler moved to the Lakefront and then disappeared altogether.
  12. Oh I so can. I'll let somebody else have a turn.
  13. I think this is a really cool idea. Maybe I will try it next year.
  14. This reminded me of Turbo Force which collapsed during installation. A second had to be brought in. Yet I still rode it.
  15. Yes, it's been sitting the repair yard by Nitro.
  16. There are allot of good choices here! Many of them would be great for next year. I would hope to see a regular frisbee sometime in the future, maybe not next year. I like them allot better than the giant frisbee. They spin much faster and they feel more forceful. The giant frisbee was closed when I went to Kings Island and it was closed one of the two times (both days) when I went to Cedar Point. I think a swing ride would appeal to kids whose parents may never take them into Looney Tunes Seaport (because they're really too old) and to teens and thrill riders too. I ride the waveswingers and yo yo swings almost any time I go to a park and I always rode the Flying Wave as a kid. I think kids today would love to have a swing ride. A scrambler is at almost every park I go to and I always try to ride the good ones. The tea cups at the park have been somewhat of a stand in for a scrambler, but I can tolerate a scrambler much more. I hope the Fantasy Fling isn't in it's last year. If it is, I would love to see another traditional ride return that offers some of those strong forces. A new round up would be really cool. A monster spin or the Zamperla Sombrero would be allot of fun for kids, teens and other thrill seekers too. The park has those two kiddie swings and two tea cups rides and the round up may not be going anywhere yet. It would be great to see some new flat rides added in the future, even if Six Flags added one a year. If they choose something bigger next year, either of these flat rides would make a great accompaniment. My preferences for a bigger ride would be a splash battle ride or a new shoot-the chutes or a dark river or any dark ride that is not a shoot-em up ride. I hope Houdini reopens with the bumper cars and Musik Express is a favorite of mine. I hope it reopens too. The Big Wheel and carousel look pretty bad and Rolling Thunder always could use some brakes and retracking. I'd prefer to see rides in the center of the park get much needed care. I really don't think Six Flags could go wrong next year, unless they add a kite flyer or a balloon flight or some other kind of kiddie ride in the center of the park. It would also be to soon to see another new coaster, as the park just added one...this year. Anything that resembles the type of rides the park added in the 1970's or most of the 1980's would be great: a big ride that appeals to children, tweens, teens, thrill seekers, most adults and some seniors!
  17. Happy Birthday Brian and Luis! It's also Mom's birfthday too!
  18. This one could have gone on for days. The reason why I doubted Pretty Monster at first was because I thought the Spyro game would have been covering the evidence. Do you know what year the photo you used was taken?
  19. Ha. That was my second guess Harry. Pretty Monster.
  20. My instinct tells me it's Monster Spin. I guess one look at Flyin' Phils site would reveal the true answer!
  21. I went with what I thought the park needed the most, Scrambler, Swings, Bumper Cars.
  22. I know I saw 6:00, but I don't think I made it too much later.
  23. A cake theme for the Carousel would be sweet.
  24. Ha, another example of my memory failing me. I remembered seeing the Mc Donalds when I was in school, but I suppose not, I graduated in 1994.
