I don't see how anyone is getting "Blackstone is going to take over SFI" from this article, the guy is just saying how the theme park buisness makes alot of money, and just happened to mention Six Flags because they have 20 parks and have alot of potential to make ALOT of money under it's assets.
Honestly I don't think Blackstone would ever want to touch a Six Flags park,it would take alot to buy a park like Great Adventure, then having to retheme the park to there standards and it would take ALOT of cash to pull of a project like that,I would think they would do up to 1 Billion in renovations and adding rides in Great Adventure alone if they did buy the property,I just wouldn't see it paying off for them.

I was really disappointed in the park this weekend too. i understand that the weather is beyond their control, but having 3/4 of the park's rides closed isn't. Nor is canceling every single show, nor is having no roving management so that employees spent most of the night socializing with one another and closed down most of the few attractions that were open at 7:40, not the advertised 8:00. I understand that attendance was low and that the park was losing money, but their performance this weekend was absolutely disgraceful and, to the guest, frankly insulting. They weren't even trying in the least.
-We didn't want to have another opening day kind of thing happening,Cold + Wind = valleying coasters.
-Wet stages are dangerous for preformers.
-We can't close rides by ourselves, that's Supervisors call,we have absolute no control of closing the ride early,we get a call to do it and do it.
-I don't know how you did not see any management, there sooo easy to spot and everywhere.
and lastly we never agree on anything lol

^I think I remember you two from yesterday when I was operating Batman. You rode second row like 3 times and were talking to me.I asked the train to yell when I said "All Clear" loud enough so Nitro could here us.
-
^ Are you kidding me? The weather scared a LOT of people away, allowing for major re-rides. It was a big bummer that they cancelled the shows yesterday, but what are you gonna do? You can read my TR for yesterday here.
Good for you, horrible for the park.
-
^Yup,but Leads/Managers/Supervisors had to stay to do whatever lol.Glad I'm not a Lead yet lol (Well if Steve thought I was good enough for it that is)
-
If anyone was planning on heading out to the park today, don't go the park isn't opening today because of the weather.
-
Ohh,true theres too many people to know that are on these sites...Everyone knows us of course though =D just kidding. But that sucks about the loop, atleast you have Houdini gafreak!
I haven't seen Sam in so long,I always used to see him with Steve or the one lady who was at cables like every day towards the middle of the summer for reasons I can't say lol.
-
gafreak works in Rides too?Which ride/section are you in?
-
There is no need for another kiddie area.We have 4,that's more than most parks have so a 5th is not at all neccasary.
I would like to see more flats, and new coaster or two,and a new water ride themed as well as Dudley Do Rights, but I know that's far fetched...

I just have a question about DMP,did they bring back the song Bring Me To Life?I really like that song lol.But I've never seen a show at a halloween event untill HHN last weekend where I saw Bill & Ted's and thought it was really funny, wish Six Flags could do something like that!

Yeah sad thing is though people still buy alot of alocohol even when there signature drinks are $10.Hair of The Wolf this year was that much and saw ALOT of people walking around with those and plus the jello shots...Wish they would cut down the alcohol,it would make the scarectors job easier even though there are still way to many idiots who go there..
-
^Crowds are good now though, means higher budget for the next year. And drinking on the other hand is good and bad,bad cause drunks are annoying as hell, good cause they make ALOT of money on alcohol.I would prefer them cutting out Alcohol all together cause of all the incidents they cause like hitting scarectors damaging houses and the props but sober idiots do it too. It's still the best halloween event out there by far.

Just got back from Universal in Orlando for the weekend, this was my favorite year of the other two years I've been going to Halloween Horror Nights. If you can afford to or just find yourself in the area in October make sure to go,it is absolutly amazing!

QUOTE(gafreak @ Sep 29 2009, 05:49 PM) You would think if your paying 60 dollars to get in they wouldn't charge you more for the fright fest attractions.
True, but a lot of people come in with season passes,so they don't really spend a lot when they come in at night for FF,cause most likely they ate before going into the park.
I'm going to Halloween Horror Nights this weekend,so won't be able to make employee preview or any nights this weekend. After coming back from the best in the business when it comes to haunts,I won't have to high of expectations for FF

I realize I'm probably in the minority on this, judging by the previous posts. I want to preface this by saying this is my opinion, so please do not jump down my throat. Here goes:
I think the new paint job is hideous. Not only does it clash with everything around it, but with everything that can be seen from it, which is a lot.
The ride is supposed to be about the parachutes, not the pole holding them up. Since the idea is to seem like you are parachuting, the cables and pole should be hiden as much as possible. The parachutes themselves should be bright colors, not the support structure. Whatever color they now make the parachutes, they will be overpowered by the pole.
Do they have someone at corporate in charge of making these decisions that simply throws darts at a color wheel and goes with whatever they land on?
I do not believe they are going for a new theme in the area. Six Flags gave up on theming a long time ago ( with the unexplainable exception of the Golden Kingdom ). They claim they are now "thrill parks" instead of "theme parks". Everything in the park clashing, however, is not thrilling, it's just ugly.
Again, just my opinion.
O.K. now, let me have it.
While I agree that the colors stand out to much, but it's good to see it colored, and not white and rusted.
Also they haven't become even close to stop theming, how do you explain TDK,or Terminator?

^Dream Street loader

^You probably saw me at one point then since you rode Cables. And I bet you Cables was the longest line you waited in,we always have the longest line in the park even when it's not crowded lol
-
I saw you guys tonight!I was at Western Cables doing courtesy since we were closed at the begining of the day for High Winds but opened later, but I was standing there and saw you guys!lol,I looked for you guys later when we opened to ride it,but I didn't see you when I was loading at Dream Street

CoasterPrince, stop listening to Jason on GADV,he thinks he's right about things and he knows stuff people don't,but he doesn't.
-
Vu better not be coming to our park as our new ride in 2011...As you can tell I am a very picky person lol
-
Just we have too many B&M's now,why get another one.We have one for air,one for inversions, one for flying, and one for intenseness in Batman. Why bother with a Stand-up that has only inversions when we have Bizarro.Just I don't like the Stnad-up concept at all,I much rather sit on a coaster.I know money is tight right now,and I understand that, but flats aren't expensive,if you don't want to buy new ones, rotate flats we need from other parks that have a plethora of them like Fiesta Texas.
-
Which means Iron Wolf may be finding a new home...
I don't want a stand-up coaster.ever.
-
It's probably going to Great America.I don't see why we would need a stand-up.We have to many B&M's already.
-
So the rotation begins.

Oh I know they have almost an endless amount of money from all the huge companies they control and such, but I don't think buying any Six Flags park would be worth the money they spend on fixing it and buying the property, most SF parks are all coasters and Blackstone doesn't run parks with more than what 6 coasters now with Busch Gardens as theres.
As much as I would want Blackstone to buy GADV I don't think they would ever buy it.
