Coaster Justin
After reading the Splashwater Falls Spotlight and reading about it almost being called "Amazon River Run", I wonder if there have been other considered names that fell through for various reasons. I'll start with what I Know: Koala Canyon was Going to be renamed "Bugs Bunny Bay" in 99 Medusa was Going to be called "Iron Horse" and "Ricochet" Daffy Duccaneer was Originally called "Baby Buccaneer" Viper was going to be called "Unforgiven" I think Nitro was originally supposed to be themed to Superman. Up_Up_and_Away
You are correct regarding Nitro; behind the scenes, certain things still refer to this near-theming.
Mr. Hot Dog
You are correct regarding Nitro; behind the scenes, certain things still refer to this near-theming. Really? Like what? (For the record, I like that it has a generic name instead of a superhero theme.)
scipiomask
Scream machine was going to be named ninja.
acq10uaz
Really? Like what? (For the record, I like that it has a generic name instead of a superhero theme.) When it starts up in the morning the computer systems says Superman: Krypton Coaster.
Coaster Justin
I'm guessing that Nitro @ SFGAdv and V2 @ SFGAm were supposed to be given Superman themes but then Six Flags heard That B&M Were making Flying Coasters and changed their minds at the last moment. scipiomask
Showcase Theater was also supposed to be renamed Tinsel Town Theater or something like that. I like to imagine Houdini was going to be renamed Inception: The Ride...
29yrswithaGApass
- Centriguge G-Force was going to be named "Scramber Space Simulator" - Stuntman's Freefall was going to be named "Sharky's Machine Stuntman Try-Outs"
CycloneMan
I'm guessing that Nitro @ SFGAdv and V2 @ SFGAm were supposed to be given Superman themes but then Six Flags heard That B&M Were making Flying Coasters and changed their minds at the last moment. From what I heard, Superman Krypton Coaster was renamed Nitro because the track was delivered the wrong color. But...that could also be made up
njdevilsrock
When it starts up in the morning the computer systems says Superman: Krypton Coaster. As well as the error screen. scipiomask
I'm glad it's named Nitro. Krypton Coaster is such an awful name.
Coaster Justin
I Wonder how they came up with Nitro?
ThemeParkRider
That seems to be a good way to describe the coaster... Nitro. And it fits, and is easy to remember.
Coaster Justin
- Stuntman's Freefall was going to be named "Sharky's Machine Stuntman Try-Outs" No Offense to Anyone but that name (Sharky's) has got to be one of the oddest names I've ever heard for a ride. GAcoaster
The name came form a Burt Reynolds movie Just like the Right Stuff, Warner Brothers wanted to use it's film library (no matter how old and forgettable) to cross promote. Just like Disney having a Pete's Dragon float in the Main Street Electrical Parade.
29yrswithaGApass
This has to be one of the worst movie trailers ever!
