29yrswithaGApass
When it comes to Hurricane Harbor, at times it can seem like it is a little too much like a remote island having been built so far from the theme park gates. The debate of where it should have been constructed has been tossed around for years now. Would Great Adventure have benefited from the water park being adjacent to the theme park? Should Hurricane Harbor be included in the price of a "Great Adventure" ticket? Should the park be relocated? What are your thoughts? Railer
The location makes alot of sence if there was a Hotel on the property. I always said a great day would be the Water park all day, run up to the room for quick showers. Then hit up the Theme park for the night. gafreak
it could go either way really, if the water park was closer to the park , you could have done like the adventure rivers deal where it was its own world but still part of GA, however, when they built it they may have been thinking of seriously adding the hotel and put it there for a reason, with out the hotel it kinda is remote, its not an easy walk to the park across the huge parking lot, however if the were to add a monorail connecting the park and safari, i think it would be great,
The Master
I think HH is okay where it is located. Helps keep it from getting as god awlful crowded as GADV gets sometimes.
Coaster Justin
Problem is that no matter where it was; Would've blocked expansion in that area. Good that it was Seperate. Six Flags Makes More Money to Put into the Parks.
29yrswithaGApass
Interesting results so far. I expected it to be much more one sided.
29yrswithaGApass
I would imagine if the minor league baseball stadium announced in 1989 was actually built at Great Adventure (it was planned for the current site of Hurricane Harbor), we would have a water park adjacent to the theme park today. truepolak90
This is really wishful thinking, but I would love to see the water slides relocated to adventure seaport and theme it to Adventure Rivers for nostalgic reasons. Relocate part of the maintenance area and have Nitro tower the area. Transform Congo into a Lazy River with falls. They could use the Lazy river and wave pool in the current water park and build a tropical "camp ground" kind of resort where the current Harbor is now. This would be like hitting two birds with one stone. Also the park would only have to invest in stairs and themeing, as well as relocating kids rides. (Bring back Balin's Jungle land and expand BBNP into the Log Flume peninsula with the old LTSP and Safari kids rides and maybe one or two in Fantasy Forest!) This would make SFGA a theme park that offers a much better day experience then any other theme park could. (3 parks in 1). I could see people from Florida flying up to NJ.
