GAcoaster
It would be great to see the pavement in these areas replaced, but if there's no budget for that, it at least needs a fresh coat of paint. Honestly, I don't think the blue was too bad (better than blacktop), it just needs to be freshened up.
Coaster Justin
How about Concrete instead of Blue Pavement? That way, it's not so hot during the summer.
GAcoaster
Concrete (especially stamped concrete) would be ideal, but it's also expensive. Just repainting what's there would be cost effective in the short term until there is a budget for real concrete.
gafreak
a stamped concrete path is definitely costly, however i dont think painting it would make it lookbetter as its quickly worn off from foot traffic, but i think they painted it to keep it from getting as hot as just plain blacktop,so aslong as they did it properly i guess it would be ok
GAcoaster
The original coat of blue paint actually lasted longer than I expected. Now (I thinks it's been 6 years later) it just needs a fresh coat.
The Master
I know with the boardwalk area they paved the blacktop over the old concrete. It would probably cost them even more now to remove both the old concrete and the blacktop that is over it, then to lay new concrete. But I would like to see the blacktop removed as I think it makes a cheap looking walkway and it really gets hot on a sunny day. 29yrswithaGApass
Stamped concrete with a wood planking pattern in the Boardwalk would look cool!
The Master
That would look alot better than the blacktop.
gafreak
they could actually stamp the blacktop to look like that, alot of the brick you see in the crosswalks in towns are actually stammped right into the blacktop then pained red... The Master
I rather have stamped concrete. Blacktop gets so hot in the warm season. Hershey gets really hot on a sunny day due to their use of blacktop. Dorney used to be all blacktop too but they replaced it all with concrete years ago.
