Which ride would you remove and replace?

If I had to choose a ride to remove, it would have to be Superman: UF. The ride isn't that great to me. It never has been. I just don't like how the ride feels when your traveling down the track. It's too cramped and when you try to look up it cramps your neck. That's just my opinion. I'd replace it with another suitable coaster for that "parking-lot" space. As for the whole abandoned area (Old Country) I'd refurbish that whole area and add it to Movietown. I would like to see the addition of movie simulators and attractions like the ones at Universal. It would actually make Movietown, Movietown.

Superman is ok, not really my favorite. But I agree with Old Country. Put in a new musik express, bumper cars and a few other flat rides and theme them to some movies and people might be happy. Plus, it's sorta useless just sitting there.

Its not really useless. :D Its a great way for use employees to travel around the park. Its a lot easier for use to travel around the busy Movietown path.

On a guest point-of-view, I wouldn't put in new versions of the rides, I would add simulator-like attractions based on movies/tv series. Creating a "movie theatre district" down the path of the old Chiller ride. It would provide Movietown with more foot traffic.

I know this plan isn't really convenient but I'd probably remove Green Lantern. Using that space, I'd add in more parking lot and place a season pass entrance leading into Golden Kingdom. But more realisically, I don't think we need to replace anything, its all good.

I don't think there is any ride that needs to be removed IMHO. Shapiro removed more than enough rides during his tenure. For awhile GADV was losing 4 old rides for every new ride it got. As of now, GADV has plenty of empty spaces for new rides without removing older rides to make room. Heck there are two large empty ride buildings in the park (Chiller station and sim theater) that could be used for something or cleared out to make room for something.

Good point.

Too many of the old rides have been taken out, I can't see anything there, except for Superman: Ultimate Flight, that should be removed.

If anything, they should bring back Fantasy Fling, Musik, Autobahn, all the classic rides. XD

Maybe have a survey or something on which old ride was best. Autobahn is coming back in the form of some new bumper cars. And the advertising on Fantasy Fling/Tornado is helping to keep it running. But I do agree with Musik.

I agree that nothing should be removed but if I had to pick a ride, it would be Superman. It's not a bad ride but it's my least favorite B&M coaster in the park (and my 2nd least favorite B&M coaster overall) and is too short of a coaster and not worth the wait it usually has.

Is that a statement or a question?

SUF is a waste of space. If trees are a waste of space, why build in a forrest to begin with? Just buy a parking lot and throw some rides in it.

I don't know if I'd consider "Superman Ultimate Flight" a waste of space. It's squandered opportunity. The ride would be better placed in "Movietown", or remain as part of an expanded "Golden Kingdom". There's enough land there to infuse trees and landscaping to make it look less like a lawn ornament. Dropping the "Superman" theme and re imagining it would work wonders. Having 4 staff members checking restraints would work too. Trees aren't that expensive, and "The Golden Kingdom" was made to look like a jungle vs. it's original concrete carnival theme (Kiddie Kingdom).

The entire "Boardwalk" games section is a waste. Move the games elsewhere, like the abandoned storefronts along "The Golden Kingdom: Outpost". Expand both"The Golden Kingdom" and "Plaza de Carnival". Keep the "Parachute" as is (with a repaint to one color besides yellow or blue). Use the original Premier Parks vision and expand on it. Take "The Dark Knight" out of its box and relocate it as an "open air family coaster" within "The (expanded) Golden Kingdom". Add a "Jungala" element too, and add real sit down restaurants and a Mariachi Stage.

"Skull Mountain", "Green Lantern", and "The Dark Knight" are far more offensive to the eye than "Superman". I would be willing to trade both "Superman" and "Green Lantern" for a new, record breaking "B&M Dive Machine". A "Port Royal" retheming of the current "Skull Mountain"/"Neptune's Kingdom" area would also be required. A lot can be done with little money, especially with losing two marquee attractions to smaller parks.

I would have to agree on some of the things you said.

Statement. I know SUF is horrible, but it's still a ride. I rather have more rides than emptiness and trees. As I said before, id replace it with another ride/attraction.

I don't like it when ANY ride is removed from the park. For me the biggest ride removal shocker was when the Hyrdo Flume was taken out. Even though it was built way back in 1975 I think it could have opearted for several additional seasons with the proper TLC.

Runner up for me would have been Evolution. I loved that ride.

Harry, I suggest "Freefall" as an unecessary removal. Granted, the Giovanola/Intanin first generation drop ride was getting old. However, "Freefall" just returned from an extensive and expensive rehab project. Mark Shapiro chose to remove the ride over labor and general operating costs. Was it even open 15 days post rehab?

Intamin was still fabricating parts for these attractions. As showcased by Mark's recent deposition in the "Dick Clark Productions/Hollywood Foreign Press" lawsuit, he's been known to outright lie.

Regarding "Hydro Flume", as well as "Koala Kanyon", I wholeheartedly agree. The lack of immediate replacement for the "Zierer Wave Swinger" also gets honorable mention. They are readily available.

Could we nominate the paintball building for removal, and opening of "Dream Street"?
